I only went there today as a first time experience to see the…read morehorses race and it was great, you get to see soo much of the horses from when they arrive and get warmed up till it is show time for them to race. It gets your adrenaline pumping when the guy is speaking from a loud tanner especially when the horses are drawing to the final part of the race. It was a real treat going today as it was a promotion that they were doing and you get to see the high class sort of people there who must be their week in week out. I got to see Michael Owen today aswel. The people there are a real gem speaking to you to as though you are one of their own.

The actual theatre is a very good size, housing about 150 people in cinema life seats in a tiered setting. the stage is a flat foor at the bottom of the tiered seating area and is fairly large and deep, allowing for a lot of scenery. the backstage area is very nice, however everyone needs to be very quiet as it is housed right underneath the seats above! each dressing room can hosue baout 10 people getting changed and is complete with bathroom, tv to see what is happening on stage and reasonable wardrobe space. there are two large dressing rooms, two smaller ones and one up a flight of stairs. Very good use of space in the theatre and is always clean.

We'd seen the film then it was on at the theatre so we both went as Rocky horror virgins. I dyed my hair pink one side and dark blue the other...nearly got expelled from school! It was the best experience I'd ever had! 30 years later however....have people forgot how to have fun? I know it's a week night but REALLY??? Me and another girl at the front decided to get up for the time warp...people very nearly didn't!!! I was gob smacked! The show was fantastic but the audience was a huge let down!!!

Slap bang in the middle of Wolverhampton you can't really miss the place, access is easy - we drove from Brum both times and had no trouble parking. Handy tip - Broad Street Car Park is £2 after 17:30 until 5 a.m. The bar is, well it's a little gig venue bar. So it's a bit of a dive. Which I love, the decline of the dive bar in Birmingham saddens me a little so it's nice to go somewhere with sticky floors and splinters. But it's reasonably priced. We got a couple of pints of Fullers New World which cashed in at only £3.10 a pint. Much less than the £4+ I've paid for it at a certain joint stock in Brum. The main room is... cosy for a comedy gig, they squeeze you in as much as possible. It's always been unallocated seating when we've been so if you dare sit at the front you'll benefit from much more leg room! Nice little venue, much lighter on the wallet than other comedy venues I've been to.

The bands were so loud that you couldn't tell one song from the next and the buzzing from the speakers was awful . I think at least one of the speakers were blown, the sound was terrible. In fairness, I don't know if the bands use their own sound engineers or if they were the venues? (Rock City has the same problem but to a lesser extent and isn't as noticeable). The room itself if a good size with some seating round a corner if you want to get out of the way a bit. I would go back for drinks and I like it as a bar, I would give it another go for a band but I wouldn't expect too much.

While this is a great small cinema, Light House has a whole lot more to offer than just great films. It has a lovely little cafe with good food and drinks and a pleasant gallery space worth doing at least a quick walkthrough. One of my favorite parts was the fact that the assortment of refreshments they had to offer and not only that, but they were really affordable. You don't have to pay an arm and a leg to be able to have a drink or snack while you watch a film. Can't wait to be able to visit this place again because it has an atmosphere that most major cinemas can't even begin to compete with.

It's a regular meeting place for Cafe Psychologique and you always feel welcome when you go. It's an interesting space as it's in the former Chubb Building so you can see some of Wolverhampton's industrial history. The cafe provides a range of drinks and snacks. It's also close to the train station so you don't have to walk far!
