When I asked Dr. Janik's…read moreoffice why Dr. Verrett's office was selected--given that it is over 20 minutes away--they shared that it was because they could guarantee there would be no paperwork issues and that I would be very well taken care of. They were absolutely right. I first called Dr. Verrett's office with a few questions regarding my upcoming wisdom tooth surgery, specifically to confirm whether anesthesia would be available. I will say that the initial information I received was not entirely accurate, particularly the statement that my medical coverage "wouldn't even be looked at," which I knew was incorrect. I'm very glad I trusted my instincts and requested a callback. That decision led me to Heather, who v(to me) she went above and beyond - and i look back at her interactions with me now and i think its just her natural way of being. She was somehow able to fit me in for an in‑office consultation within an hour of returning my call. Choosing to come in person ended up being a complete lifesaver. The in‑office experience immediately put me at ease and relieved so much anxiety. Every question I had was answered thoroughly, and I left the office fully understanding what I would be responsible for financially the following day. I was also relieved to learn that my medical insurance was able to cover a significant portion of the anesthesia. Big shoutout to Cindy as well for helping me understand expectations of next day. I was already extremely nervous that week, but the entire team was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding through every step of the process. I am now seven days post‑surgery after having three wisdom teeth removed, and my recovery has been going very well. I truly can't thank this office enough for the care, support, and reassurance they provided. The in‑house experience made all the difference, and I'm extremely grateful for the level of service and compassion I received.

For the 10 minutes I spent in the room with the doctor where he told me he didn't really know what was going on. About $300 for absolutely nothing. They were not upfront about the billing or cost of anything. Provided no treatment and I'm leaving disappointed and having wasted a lot.

I have been going to this practice for almost 2 years. The doctor that has been working with me has…read morebeen extremely helpful and friendly. I make it a habit to know what services I receive and what kind of benefits that are associated with the services through insurance. Yesterday, I received a bill in the mail (first time) saying that I owe almost $2,000. (The bill has no information of any kind explaining where this amount is coming from) So, naturally I was concerned and called the dentist office immediately. This is the first time I am seeing or hearing this amount billed to me. I spoke to a newly hired office employee that explained to me that I had been carrying a balance for almost 2 years for services that were rendered. Everytime I get any kind of treatment or service, I make it a habit to PAY IN FULL the amount that is owed the date services are rendered. If not, then I set up a PAYMENT PLAN to cover any remaining amount the date services are rendered. The young lady on the phone explained to me EOB's that are covered through insurance and the remaining amounts are billed to the clients. My questions were why am I just now receiving a bill? Why are you threatening to send me to collections in 10 days if the bill is not paid in full? Why did I not receive a statement, phone call, or bill prior? Why would I continue to get services/ treatment at an establishment if I have an open balance? Why doesn't the bill show detailed information about what was billed for and why? The billing system that created this document hasn't been updated since 2022 showing the lack of monitoring the billing system has. (Shown at the bottom of the bill) Keep in mind, I received this bill (for the first time) 12/23/24. Two days before Christmas. Judging by the past reviews of disgruntled prior existing patients, it seems that I am not the only one who has had issues with the billing department and the LACK OF TRANSPARENCY through billing. I would never agree to pay for services, NOT knowing the full amount that is due at the time of services. This type of business practice appears to be shady and not forthcoming. This kind of business practice literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Went in to get checked for a cracked tooth after various failed attempts at another Dentist office…read more I had a really great experience at Villa Dental. From the very first phone call, their customer service was amazing friendly, helpful, and efficient. When I arrived for my appointment, everything continued to go smoothly. The staff was kind, patient, and made me feel comfortable right away. I didn't have to wait long at all, which I really appreciated. The dentist took the time to go over everything with me and worked together with me to come up with a plan that made sense. The whole process felt easy and stress-free. Overall, it was such an effortless experience, and I'm really glad I chose this office. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality care and great service.

A search on Yelp revealed that Villa Dental takes walk-in patients and takes cash or has finance plans available. What's more, this facility is the hands-down the best rated dentist in San Antonio. Well, I'm pleased to say that there's a reason for all that goodwill. We got the earliest appointment available and were impressed from the moment we walked in the door. Unlike a lot of dental practices, the staff seems happy to be there - not dispirited and overworked like many other places. We were taken in on time and I got to observe the practice close to first-hand. The technology used in the X-ray and inner-mouth photography is top-notch and a step above my own dentist. Dr. Staes, as many here state, has a great bedside (chair-side?) manner and takes pains to explain everything. Came back the next day for a painless extraction and a couple of fillings. I can't say enough good things about Villa Dental. In fact, the only negative is that they don't take my dental insurance or I'd be a patient here too!

I remember crying in my then-boyfriend's arms the day before scared I wouldn't wake up. The consultation with Dr. Hernandez was comforting. I asked if I could keep the teeth as a memento but he said no, because the severity of the impaction meant they would not be coming out in once piece. Also, I would not be under partial anesthesia. I would be completely unconscious. That terrified me. Granted, 10 months earlier I had undergone a surgery and was knocked out then, too so I was acquainted with general anesthesia, BUT STILL. When the day arrived my cousin acted as my caretaker. There were no gowns, the room looked like any other dental room. I was hooked up to an IV, told I'd feel something tingly, and before I knew it, I blacked out. (Like with my other surgery, I was like, "I'm just going to rest my eyes a bit while they're still getting ready..." and when I woke up they were done. wtf) I proceeded to text four people about how much I felt like a marshmallow. We picked up my pain pills, and I rested the next few days at my sister's. I lived off tea and protein shakes (and lost about seven pounds, lol) for a few days before a friend of mine took me out to brunch where I ate soft foods slowly. My mouth healed remarkably well and the best part was the surgery was covered by my insurance. I only had a $25 copay and that's it. No additional payments. It was the best decision my dentist ever made for me. Unfortunately I thought the removal would help with my migraines, but my wisdom teeth were not a contributing factor to them. :( But I am glad to have those teeth out, as they could have caused some serious problems. I would definitely refer people to Dr. Hernandez.
