Dr. Hernandez is fantastic!! So is his staff. Do not take your kids to another doctor for wisdom teeth removal when you can have Dr. Hernandez and his team available. Not only is the staff super friendly, but they take time with the patients and parents to ensure all questions are asked. When Dr. Vela at All Smile said my bottom two wisdom teeth were severely impacted and had to come out, I turned PALE white. Oral surgery was (and still is) one of my greatest fears. I remember crying in my then-boyfriend's arms the day before scared I wouldn't wake up. The consultation with Dr. Hernandez was comforting. I asked if I could keep the teeth as a memento but he said no, because the severity of the impaction meant they would not be coming out in once piece. Also, I would not be under partial anesthesia. I would be completely unconscious. That terrified me. Granted, 10 months earlier I had undergone a surgery and was knocked out then, too so I was acquainted with general anesthesia, BUT STILL. When the day arrived my cousin acted as my caretaker. There were no gowns, the room looked like any other dental room. I was hooked up to an IV, told I'd feel something tingly, and before I knew it, I blacked out. (Like with my other surgery, I was like, "I'm just going to rest my eyes a bit while they're still getting ready..." and when I woke up they were done. wtf) I proceeded to text four people about how much I felt like a marshmallow. We picked up my pain pills, and I rested the next few days at my sister's. I lived off tea and protein shakes (and lost about seven pounds, lol) for a few days before a friend of mine took me out to brunch where I ate soft foods slowly. My mouth healed remarkably well and the best part was the surgery was covered by my insurance. I only had a $25 copay and that's it. No additional payments. It was the best decision my dentist ever made for me. Unfortunately I thought the removal would help with my migraines, but my wisdom teeth were not a contributing factor to them. :( But I am glad to have those teeth out, as they could have caused some serious problems. I would definitely refer people to Dr. Hernandez. read more

Caution! The office is not where it appears. It's off Old Bitters Road, exact address 1202 W Bitters, Building #5. I can't say enough positive thing about this doctor and his office staff. My son needed his wisdom teeth removed. We made a consultation visit, scheduled the surgery the next day, and never had to wait more then a couple minutes in any waiting area. My son hardly suffered at all despite the major surgery. This doctor knows what he's doing. read more

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Hernandez. It was so much better than what I had been expecting.... I mean, at the time, yanking out 4 of my molars sounded terrifying! During the consultation Dr. Hernandez was extremely knowledgable and took the time to address the risks and details of the procedure. He also answered all of my questions. I was very impressed with how approachable and nice he was. Kate was also very nice and explained my treatment plan in detail... they even fit me in the following week. Now while I don't know how the surgery went (the beauty of general anesthesia!), my recovery was amazing. While every patient is different, I pretty much had zero swelling! Dr. Hernandez was very proactive in prescribing me the proper medications to ease the pain and reduce swelling. This guy knows what he's doing, and does it well! I was very happy to hear that everything is healing properly after my one week follow up. read more

I had wicked tooth pain. Like imagine yourself sticking your gums with a steak knife over and over. It was horrendous. After seeing my local dentist, he admitted that the tooth was beyond repair. I needed it out. Something about having a tooth extracted made me go into a full fledged panic attack. I waited weeks and decided to call the person that my dentist referred me to... Dr. Hernandez. He is very nice, extremely professional, and just an all around good guy to be poking around in your mouth. He explained that not only did I have a horrible tooth, but that I needed my wisdom teeth out. I am 32. It is overdue. The tooth extraction lasted 15 minutes and I didn't feel a thing. I was very impressed with his level of professionalism. When I decide to go under the anesthesia, he will be the one unpacking my wisdom teeth. 1 star missing for a double booking on the same day. But that isn't his fault, just the spacey receptionist he has working for him. read more

Dr Hernandez is five star all the way. As a former dental assistant I can tell you he is a pro at removing wisdom teeth. His office is clean and modern. He is on time, explains everything, and is friendly. He has taken both of my daughters wisdom teeth out. On both girls their teeth were still well within the bone. Neither girl ever bruised and had minimal swelling or pain. I highly recommend him and will use him again when my son is old enough to have his removed. read more

The 5 Stars are ONLY for the Dr.s of his practice. The staff is a gigantic turn off, and is about to encourage me to leave his practice. Dr Hernandez, his wife and Dr Wolfson, are far too superior for the staff they employ. For rock stars like those three, they need the proper intellectuals front and center of their enterprise, with above average business savvy and appropriate patient cognition and relations. They are only shooting themselves in the foot by keeping young girls on staff, who couldn't coordinate a beer bong party, much less comprehend the requirements of Chronic Illnesses many of his patients must seek his care for. Please ... Dr.s are too good for the image you're willing to project. Time to get progressive. We spend most of our time with the inane, at least make it acceptable. Thank you. read more
