Alright, let's get down to why you shouldn't move here under any circumstances. I moved in from 6/1/2020-4/3. That my friend is six years. The thing about living in an apartment, Arizona has a law that favors the tenet. Thing is, if you lived in an apartment between 5-7 years, some of damages get chalked up to normal wear and tear. I had a cat that damage the carpet, but I shouldn't have to pay that because the value of the carpet is zero. That means even if there is a damage that was left, it wouldn't make sense to charge the previous tenet because for the value of the carpet if they were throwing it out anyway. After six years, they have to replace it for the tenets will throw away the carpet for a new one. So, that means the rug is worthless but they still want to charge for it because they say why the fuck not. This location basically said fuck the law, you owe us money. Matter of fact, even though you lived here for 6, count them, 6 years we will have you cover the cost of the normal wear and tear to the bathroom tub, sink, and vinyl flooring. Surprise honey, you get to pay us over $300.
Oh, it gets better my friend, even though paid two companies to clean the apartment, they said because there is a stain on the vinyl, we're also going to charge you a cleaning fee. Oh, you gave proof of cleaning the apartment before you left, well, tuff cookie because we are still charging you.
Also, when I had series of questions that was definitely backed up with pictures and links to Arizona law, they still said, you owe us money. I didn't get my itemized list of the normal wear and tear until the 9th. After my second email (the second day after receiving the itemized list of "damages"), they said they sent my account to collections already. If your counting, it was the second day of speaking to them and on the second time that spoke with them they said collections baby, and go take it up with them. They did give me their phone number and name, so as you can imagen, I'm having a hot girl summer (I'm totally not sweating from the whiplash of them already sending me to collection). That means they gave me 2 days to pay the balance before sending my account to collections.
Is this normal practice, absolutely not but hey we own this property, so we get the last word. Oh, don't believe me, well guess what? I still have those emails confirming they said they sent my account to collections. Society tells us sharing is caring. Take your time looking at the dates below because I want it to really sink in the kind of place this is. They did so many other things too. Rejected a deposit I paid the previous owners, even though I have proof that that deposit was refundable to apply to the apartment. Also, weeks leading up to my move out, their online payment method showed an ENTIRE month work of rent for April. Apparently, their system didn't know I was moving out. Also, had their system claim I owe double the rent by my second month of move out. Its not like I was silly as to ask them SEVERAL times if they needed anything other than the keys to the apartment. They totally didn't tell me there wasn't anything (AFTER CONFIRMING IN AN EMAIL AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS), and then tell me I need to pay for my last three day's rent with a cashiers check. They didn't tell me this on the 1st of April at the end of the day as the banks were closing. They did tell me I could pay on the 2nd of April without penalties. But, you know there's this thing called PLANS. But, maybe I'm confused about the word's meaning, so that was my fault. How dare I plan out necessary changes that need to be done when moving to a new place? It's not like I needed to make sure the government, internet, electric, and other companies know where I live so that I can have them by move-in date. Or made certain arrangements based on my PLANS.
I had the water cut off in my apartment multiple times within last year alone. Ever had to use the bathroom with no running water? Well friend, its absolutely the best thing ever. I loved trying to wash my hand with the drinking water I bought to stay hydrated in Arizona's heat. The heat, Satan's breath, definitely didn't affect me that day at all. Oh, I especially loved that I couldn't flush my toilet or clean my cat's litter box because again, I had NO RUNING WATER. They cut the water of because they get multiple flood from the old pipes as the buildings are decades years old. So, that will be a consistent issue.
So, if you feel like none of what I mentioned is upsetting, then give this place a chance. I did and I don't regret it at all. read more
