DO NOT RECOMMEND. Nick came out June 29th, 2025 to our house to look at our dishwasher, told my husband and I it was a control panel that would need to be ordered. Today is July 16th and I have not heard from him since. I have called and texted him numerous times with no response. I called Maytag today only to find out he could not fulfill the ticket. This is the first I am hearing of it. Horrible communication, do not recommend. Find another service provider. read more

Nick is probably a very knowledgeable repairman...but right now I am not happy with the way he runs his business. Called him three times and has not returned my call. He ordered a part and and was told about 7 to 10 days to come in. This was about four weeks ago. Left messages asking for my repair to be done before Thanksgiving (no ice). I am hosting Thanksgiving and I guess I won't have any ice. read more

I called and spoke with Nick about fixing our Speed Queen washing machine. He was completely honest and stated that he had never repaired one before, but he gave me two names and contact numbers of other companies who he thought may have. He was very kind and helpful and went out of his way to try and find help for me. Well, instead of repairing what we had, we ended up purchasing a GE model so if/when it does break down, I will be calling Nick to fix it. Nick comes quickly and he does talk a good game. The two people who gave him these rave reviews are luckier than most of us who have had the misfortune of having Parish Appliance assigned to us for warranty work. Since they call him "Nicky" and he introduces himself as "Nick" I suspect they're friends or relatives. If you look at reviews on Porch.com, you'll find more stories like mine. Nick was sent by Samsung to repair my freezer. He impressed me with his knowledgeable talk and reassurance that he'd take care of the issue as quickly as parts came in. He said I needed a new compressor and went off with the promise of returning in a week. And then he disappeared off the face of the Earth. When I tried to call, his email message said he was having back trouble and would be at work again as soon as he could, please leave a message. I left a dozen and never heard from him. I've never known of back problems so severe one can not even pick up a cell phone. Samsung then sent me another repair service, and luckily it was a reputable one (Mitch Romero). My freezer didn't need a new compressor; it only needed a simple sensor that could have been attained and installed in 3 days, instead of the 3 weeks I waited around for Nick. Fast forward 2 years and my freezer stopped working again. I called Mitch Romero. This time I did need a compressor but since that part of the system is still under warranty, they told me to call Samsung. Mitch Romero no longer does Samsung work - I suspect because they are a truly reliable, reputable, competent company and have all the business they need by doing good work so they don't need to go through the aggravation of dealing with Samsung's warranty system. The only service providers in the Lafayette area who work for Samsung are barely competent, fly-by-night types like Parish appliance. Having no other options, I let Samsung send Parish appliance again. Nick showed up alright - not in a professional-looking van with a company name on the side, but in a grungy-looking compact car. I can't even imagine the compressor and related parts would fit in his trunk along with tools that a real appliance repair person would travel with. When he left, he promised my refrigerator would be cool within a few hours. By the next morning both the refrigerator and freezer were at 68 degrees. I called Samsung again and demanded another service provider. Parish and some equally shady service in Baton Rouge are all they had to offer. Samsung actually thinks that "Parish Appliance" is a whole corps of technicians. They told me they'd call Parish and have them send someone other than Nick. I told them Parish Appliance IS Nick; there are not other technicians. They didn't believe me, made the call and guess who they got - Nick. (I won't have him in my house again, so fought and won the battle to get Samsung to reimburse me for paying for a reliable provider myself.) Nick might be a nice, honest guy just trying hard to make a living, or he might be a guy who makes ends meet by billing appliance companies for work he can't or doesn't do; I don't know. I just know you do NOT want to rely on him for any kind of warranty work. read more

Very professional, timely, and honest! Parish Appliance Repair came out on a Saturday to repair our dryer, which we thought was broken. Come to find out, it ended up being an electrical issue. Nickey took the time to explain to us why the dryer was failing. He did not even charge us for his time or service call! read more

After contacting LG to get my dishwasher repaired they told me Parish Appliance Repair would be the company coming out to repair it. They had to contact him multiple times before getting a reply and date for the repair. The first time he came inspect to see what part was needed. The next two times he came out he ordered the incorrect parts both times. After a fourth appointment he showed up with the correct part but once he got it running it started leaking from the door seal. He said he would order the part and be back within one to two weeks. After 3 weeks of not hearing from him I tried calling but no answer. Left numerous voicemails with no reply. I called to have the repair done around July 7th 2019 and it is now October 30th 2019. My dishwasher still isn't functioning and he will not return my phone calls and he will not reply to LG customer service either. Worst customer service I've ever had from a company. I would not recommend him or his company to anyone. read more

Super honest and helpful. I called left a message and was called right back. I was asked detailed questions about my washer and what it was doing and not doing. At the end of out conversation he advised me it would be better to buy a new washer, and no he does not sell washers. Amazing! Do not hesitate to call this service.
