Before starting to see a doctor at the main location on Kempsville Road I saw a doctor at their Perimeter Parkway office. When I was still working this was the closest location for me. Immediate needs may have to be with a different doctor at a different office for a quicker appointment. If this option is offered to you it's an excellent alternative. This office is clean, bright and inviting. A window wall adds to the ambience. Office personnel are friendly and welcoming. Staff at the office would sometimes recognize me by name, which adds a personal touch to the appointment. While using this as my primary location I saw Dr Ashley Reed, who was an excellent doctor. She has since moved to the Kempsville Road office. You can be certain that any doctor who works at the location has the training & credentials.that make them a Pariser physician. My impression was created buy another patient's experience. Parisienne failed to properly treat an infection and said there was no remaining cancer present. There was another spot that appeared to be cancerous that the patient refused to have treated due to the failure of pariser to treat the infection caused by their previous surgery. A second surgeon fount that pariser had failed to see the remaining cancer. There is absolutely no way I would allow this practice to treat me or anyone I cared about read more

In August '23 I called to have a suspicious spot checked and to have a full body check while there. They couldn't get me in until November. I waited until November, went in and the spot was checked and biopsied but they couldn't do a body check. My whole appointment took 5 minutes. They then scheduled me for the body check for February. I arranged my week's schedule around this appointment as people do when they're responsible but also busy. Today (1 day before my appointment) I get a text that they have to reschedule my appointment tomorrow. I know doctors are human and get sick so I figured not a big deal- I assumed they would work me in quickly since this was their cancellation. I called to reschedule and was told next available appointment in my city is in *May*! This is 3 months from now, 6 months since they confirmed this appointment, 9 full months after my initial call requesting this appointment. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will say prior to moving to Virginia Beach I used the Newport News office and did not have issues with this, so I'm not sure if the overall practice in general is having new issues or if this is a specific issue with the Virginia Beach office. Either way, I'm moving on to a new dermatology office because making patients wait *9 months* to address their health concerns is not only lacking in compassion- it's also a poor business practice. read more

Received referral from my family practitioner. Called 3/10 and got an appointment at Pariser Virginia Beach location the next day. Got there, less than 5 minute wait and I was shown to the examination room. After the assistant asked some questions I waited about 12 minutes for Dr. T. She came in, and as I was speaking, she looked at the specific spot on my (bald) head. She glanced at my shoulder (I pulled down my shirt collar to show her something similar), announced that there was nothing wrong with my head, dictated to her assistant what to write down (didn't bother explaining anything to me), and was out of the room in literally under 90 seconds! She didn't bother looking at the rest of my bald scalp or ask any further questions. Literally just stared at the one spot I pointed to. I'm not a medical professional but I do find the behavior questionable. smh Needless to say I told my family practitioner that I was not pleased. read more

I've had others recommend this location to me, so I went ahead and made an appointment. Called one week and had an appointment scheduled for the following Monday. We get a confirmation text the Friday prior and confirmed it on our end. The same day, we get called saying the provider I was to see is now not available and switched me over to a PA without asking me. Called back and reluctantly moved my appointment a whole month away. My husband was then called by a nurse to see if they could diagnose it via a secured image sent through a text and we never heard back. We called again Tuesday to touch base and received no news on the picture but ended up asking about appointments and one magically opened up for the Friday that same week with an actual doctor and not a PA. My husband made that appointment for me and clarified he could be in the room since I was getting some removals and I have health anxiety. Day of - three days prior to the appointment - they now say he is not allowed back. They could have called or indicated in the next confirmation text that they are now not allowing anyone else back. Honestly, I'm literally in my husband's face all day every day, if he has something, so do I. I reluctantly go back, because you pay BEFORE you're even seen, so I couldn't exactly leave. I was scheduled to see a Dr. Belote, though she didn't say her name when she greeted me. If it was her, she had great reviews online, but was just okay in person. She wasn't terrible, but I didn't feel comforted or relaxed in her presence. She seemed very tense and didn't give off warm vibes at all. All in all, I can't say I'd come back exactly. She did what I asked for, and I'm hoping they heal nicely. While my experience wasn't terrible, I didn't feel comfortable at all, and that's a big factor for me when it comes to being seen by any kind of doctor. read more

Yay! A location minutes from my home! This seems like a smaller office but it's actually quite big once you walk back to the exam rooms with probably two dozen rooms down two long hallways. The reception is new and clean with tons of seating available and social distanced seats during Covid. I was called back about 2 minutes after sitting down and was completely in and out in less than 35 minutes. I saw a new dermatologist today but she was very nice and very thorough - doing an in-depth review of my scalp which I haven't had done before for an annual skin check. They offered to remove a mole but when I asked about price they wrote the diagnosis codes for me to call and ask my insurance to be sure so I appreciated that. With anthem I have no idea anymore what things cost. read more

This was my first time seeing a dermatologist so I was unsure what to expect but had a good experience overall. The entire office including the bathroom is very clean and organized, front staff is polite and they didn't have to ask me a whole lot pre-visit questions. I got here about 10 minutes early and was called back quickly. I was seen by Doctor Katie Belote. Explained to her what was going on with my skin, she checked it briefly, and pres prescribed me a medication which she said can be refilled for a year. She gave me the medical terms for what was going on my skin, and I appreciated that she spelled them out upon request, so I can research them later. I also appreciate that. She answered my questions regarding recommended products and gave me some samples that I can try. I was definitely skeptical about seeing a dermatologist as a person of color, but she did mention that the products would work even and people of color so that made me feel a little bit better. The appointment was extremely quick in my opinion. It took all of 45 minutes if that. My co-pay was $55 which I considered to be reasonable if I only have to come once a year. quite honestly very disappointed ..... had a co2 fractional laser procedure done and Followed instructions to a tee. The procedure was quite expensive and after several weeks I was supposed to go back for a follow up . I reached out to the office to basically cancel my appointment explaining that I did not see any results that I was allegedly supposed to see. Instead of someone reaching out to me to ask what my concerns were or have me come in to see how my results looked I was told that my follow up appt was cancelled.....no further response from the Dr or staff. Spouse came here for a skin check in. Easy to find off dam neck and down the street from new realm. Parking is easy and plenty of spaces. Check in was easy. All in all the staff is professional, made us feel welcome and the wait was reasonable. Doctor was efficient and took the time to answer questions. Doctor was courteous and respectful. People here are nice and that's all I have to say that's positive. When I call, no one seems to pick up tie phone. I been leaving messages and don't receive a call back. I been trying to get a confirmation for a prescription from the dermatologist so I can pick up my son's prescription. He hasn't been taking his medication for the last few days because this office is failing to call me back, and to confirm with Walgreens on a simple prescription. I've been coming here for quite a few years now. The original reason I came here some years ago was due having a big bump on the top of my head, but also brought up a few other issues too. Since that day, I've been seeing one of the Physician Assistants, Melissa Alcox. She is very detailed and thorough. I've had nothing but good experiences here. After the initial visit, I did schedule a subsequent visit to have the bump removed from the top of my head. The experience with that was done well. The area was under local numbing, so I was awake and alert the entire time. Once the biopsy came back, it was a benign cyst. I now come here at least once a year. I come in for a total skin exam to ensure there are no further skin issues that I would need to be concerned with. Melissa is very thorough in the exams and doesn't leave any stone un-turned. I hope the examples above show the level of detail, care, and concern they have for their patients. All of the staff here have been extremely friendly and supportive of each other, along with us as the patients. They have a very well run system here. If you happen to have any skin issues or just want to have a skin exam, this is the place to go. read more

I have a skin condition that requires regular cortisone injections. I have been very pleased with the entire staff and have been seeing Dr. Belote who is wonderful. This past visit I had an appointment with Todd Feldman who recently returned to the VA Beach area. I was nervous about seeing someone new on the other end of that needle but he is fantastic! By far the worst dermatologist I've been to. Let me start with the pros: the office itself was nice & clean. Front desk was more than friendly & efficient. Cons: the doctor herself was awful. Didn't explain anything to me. Had me get labs done for a potential illness I hadn't heard of with no explanation, come to find out is a life altering disease. Left the room without addressing further and separate concerns, I had to pull her out of surgery... they were supposed to call me with results of my biopsy, never received a call and still do not know the results. Office manager still has yet to return my phone calls regarding these issues. If you value your health and expect your provider to do the same I highly suggest not to visit this office. UPDATE: The response on this review from a rep of the business stating they have tried to reach out to me is completely false. Just be honest. I have been a patient for a little over 6 months and would like to start with the receptionist since I believe the healing starts with them. I have nothing but the most respect for these two ladies! They have me checked in before I even say good morning to them! That tells me that in the small amount of time going to see Dr. Torosky, they already know me. They do treat me like I am part of their group and as such, they are going to ensure I am well taken care off! They always have a smile (unfortunately hidden behind their mask) for me and since day one, have made me feel that everything is going to be ok. Well, let me say that I have not seen one staff member without a smile or a caring attitude. My "Light Tech" was so good that she went up to become a Dermatologist Assistant!! Way to go!! Dr. Torosky, she is just awesome and really goes out of her way to explain my problem and to give me not options but she ensures I do understand what my best option is. She is a lovely lady with a good sense of humor and not a doctor that looks down into her patients. I communicate via emails with Dr. Torosky and have no problems with her reading them because she does read them. dont go to this dermatology specialists company, don't know if they are all rip offs but I saw Sara Buehler Bota, for a syst on my back. Walked in the office which cost $165.00 for office visit. Plus co pay. Talked to the Dr for 5 minutes. Decided not to get it cut off. A month later I got a bill charging me $102.00 extra to have it cut off. and charged my insurance. called to complain about it, they said my medical record showed the procedure took place, then I get a call saying they would reduce the bill by $50.00. I told her why am I getting charged for something that didnt happened. All she said was the office said that's the decision. I called my insurance and reported them. read more

If you come in with a hint of a sniffle fully masked and Covid-vaccinated during allergy season, you will be treated as if you were a leper and asked to leave despite the receptionist with unprofessional 2 inch talons harboring all sorts of germs under her claws and a snippy attitude. I was back in my car at 8:12, and that includes getting undressed and dressed. I just received my bill; 362.00. And they did not even do everything that I had asked for. I've been going to dermatology practices for more than 15 years all over the country and by far this is the best practice I have ever been to. The doctor, Cyndi Torosky, was the most informative professional I've ever had and genuinely took the time to meet with me and develop an action plan to work towards improving my condition. All of the nursing aids are also very attentive and compassionate. I am blown away at the level of accommodation that the front desk provides as far as trying their best to accommodate scheduling requests. I recently began a treatment that required special authorization and coordinating with my insurance and the medical coding specialists made sure the transition between all parties was smooth and successful and kept me in the loop of all the steps. I highly recommend this practice as I am not treated as a number and instead as an individual with my own needs. In 2013, I had an annual body check, at which time a handful of age spots from the tops of my hands were removed. This was a courtesy and I was not charged. In June 2015, I had my annual body check with a different doctor. I pointed out a spot on my leg and the doctor asked me if I'd like to have it removed. At no time did she tell me I would be charged $165 for the removal. I recently received a bill from Pariser for this service. Since "courtesy" removals had been offered to me in the past at my annual check-up, I was not expecting this charge. If during a routine check-up, the doctor offers a removal, I feel in all fairness a person should be informed of a change; especially, when removal has been provided in the past at no charge. I would under no circumstances, had this spot removed if I had known I would be charged $165. I reported the discrepancy to the billing department and the supervisor made the decision to stand by the charge. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had an issue with this establishment. In 2013, I was referred to a Moh's surgeon, for basal cell removal on my chest. When I met with the surgeon, he informed me that Moh's surgery is not conducted on the chest. Because of this incorrect referral, I lost four hours of annual leave and was charged for an office visit. I was later referred to a plastic surgeon. I enjoy the staff and convenient location of Pariser; however, will choose not to return. read more

I heard nothing but good things about Dr. Torosky but I found her condescending, terribly brief and uninterested in what concerned me. A Technician did a biopsy and the lab report was not signed by a doctor. I wonder who read it?? She froze 2 places, hit one last shot on the tip of my nose and left the room not saying a word - that was it! I called the office leaving a message for her but did not get a return call. I went to see the doctor 2 weeks ago and am still trying to get my medications filled. I was given 2 prescriptions. The pharmacy said they can't fill the one because it was written incorrectly and they have left several messages with the doctors office and faxed several requests with no response. I have tried to contact someone at the office because they told me if the prescription was to expensive, which it is $180, to expensive for sure to call back and they have a Pharmacy they can fill it through. I finally got through and they gave me their pharmacy number. I called their pharmacy and they said they don't fill this particular prescription. I feel like all I'm getting is the run around and 14 days to get a prescription filled and response from the doctors office after multiple calls is ridiculous. What ever happened to customer service. I will never go back for a recheck but find another doctor. My $50 copay was a waste of money without being able to pick up medication. read more
