I have had more than one bad experience with this place. I knew better but this is the only in-network location located in Paris. We started the morning by telling me since I wasn't standing in the doorway when they unlocked them, I couldn't be a walk-in client after calling me on Friday and saying walk-ins were Monday through Thursday 8-11. Well, they were good enough to let me waste 50 minutes of my time before taking me to the back and telling me, on top of the money they were going to charge my insurance and the copay, there would be an additional $60 contact fitting fee. Who the heck is wearing contacts all the time, never needs to put on some frames and take a break? I have never had any other eyecare professional give me any static about writing a prescription for frames when they do a contact exam in 40-some-odd years. When asked about their ridiculous fee I was told that it was just store policy. I kindly asked for my glasses back and left. We moved to the area last year and needed new everything. I was so very happy with Paris Optical and Dr. C Wicks. Ultra professional and very talented. He diagnosed our boys condition spot on, based on our son's exam I made one for myself. Couldn't be happier, prescription was spot on, did I mention the service is outstanding? read more

I started coming to Paris Optical four years ago. I have never gone to another optometrist (expect as the army directs for my annual military physical!). I have experienced nothing but the best from Dr. Wicks staff. Dr. Wicks is an excellent eye doc (both of them) and very thorough in the exam. The eye glasses area is excellent and always fully furnished. The building is an old historic bank with the old vault in the back. It is a cool feature they have in the building. Even when I had an issue with my insurance Dr. Wicks refunded my glasses until the issue could be resolved. Since the glasses hadn't been made yet it didn't cost his team anything but time, but that is the type of service that demands great customer loyalty! read more

Appointment was fine, pretty rushed exam. Then I ordered glasses. They said five days. Nothing after five days, then is was 7-10, still nothing. After 2.5 weeks they said at least another week until they were even shipped back? I asked to speak to a office manager or the owner/doctor. Someone else called me back and I asked to cancel the order since the doctor had no time to talk apparently. Then they stated they weren't refunding my money? I have no patience for this kind of ineptness. I will tell all my employees and everyone else I know to go elsewhere. A month to get any type of order is ridiculous. read more

I'm consulting with a malpractice attorney because due to Katie Wicks' negligence, I now have corneal erosion in my right eye. I complained to her about my eye bothering me (ultra sensitive to light, hurts when I wake up, hurts when I blink, headaches etc.) and she said the reason for the pain was allergies. She didn't bother to examine my eye nor address my concerns for the pain. The new optometrist I see now immediately saw the abnormality during exam and sent me to a specialist. He also said if it was allergies, then BOTH eyes would have been affected, not just one. The specialist wanted to schedule surgery because he too saw that I had corneal erosion and understood the pain I was experiencing. They both told me had my previous O.D. corrected it, then all of this could have been prevented. I am now recovering from my procedure and have to go back in a month to determine if another procedure will be needed. Do not trust your eye health to Katie Wicks. read more

The staff was friendly enough, but I thought that their prices were very high for glasses. What disappointed me the most was that I never received a follow up call to see if my glasses were working correctly. And these were my very first set of glasses! You would think that they would call a week or so afterwards to check on everything, but nothing. And by the way, the "automatic" darkening lenses did not work correctly. The right lens (half of it anyway) would stay dark even when returning inside. It was maddening. To add insult to injury, if i remember correctly I paid over $300 for a pair of glasses that never worked. I may as well have taken my prescription to an online company and bought the same glasses for $60. Lesson learned. read more

Best optometrists in town!! Very thorough doctors, friendly and know what they're talking about!! Excellent staff too!! Had gotten contacts from a different place a year ago that never cleared my vision, went to Paris Optical and found out my old contacts were the completely wrong prescription for my eyes. I had to take my boys here recently due to their normal optometrist being booked up for 6 months. All they needed were renewed prescriptions and new glasses. First off, the optometrist gave my son a prescription that was nowhere near what he has had...I mentioned to him that it was way off from what he is normally given and he then said "oh you're right. There is hidden prescription I did not see." And changed it. As an optometrist with a degree he should be able to provide a correct prescription without me correcting him. Then they got my boys' glasses mixed up. Had the wrong prescriptions in the wrong frames and my 7 year old ended up being given his brother's prescription to wear for 2 weeks before we figured out they got everything mixed up. Then after getting his correct pair, they broke the first day he had them. The hinge just came right out of the frame while he was sitting next to me playing with his legos. This is absolutely ridiculous. I will not be taking them back here again. read more

This was my first appointment at Paris Optical and I won't be returning . I've worn contacts for 16 years and NEVER been charged a contact "renewal fee". My copay is $25 at an in network provider. I go to checkout and the lady tells me $85 with $60 of that being a renewal fee. What the heck? For me to go to my previous Dr who is out of network it is a total of $115 with my insurance reimbursing me $42. That is cheaper than Paris Optical WITH insurance. Not to mention I visited maybe 5 minutes with the actual Dr. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a waste of 2 hours and $$$. read more
