Well, all 3 of those sites had dirty rooms, dirty linens, or other issues with cleanliness. 2 of them had bedbugs in my room which caused me to have to change rooms. That's why my experience was 0 (good hotel) for 3 (bad hotel). What about the Days Inn by Wyndham Paris? Well, my 5 star rating should give you some clue. The staff could not have been friendlier, but most importantly, the hotel is clean and well-maintained. I had an end room on the first floor and along with it being a nice and spacious room, it was clean and modern. There is a sizable parking lot and I was able to park my rental car in front of my room for convenience. On the side, there are large parking spaces that are big enough to park big rigs and trucks with trailers. There is a gas station next door and also a Subway on the other side of the parking lot which is within convenient walking distance of my hotel room. I had no issues with this hotel like I described earlier. If my previous experiences were as good as this location, then I wouldn't have had such a bitter taste in my mouth when it comes to a Days Inn. I almost feel like they should call this a "Days Inn Premiere" or something like that. It was that good. My weeklong experience here was such a pleasant one and it just goes to show what happens when management and ownership actually care about hotel guests as people and not as a source of revenue. Way to go Days Inn team! I would absolutely recommend this location if you need to stay in a hotel in Paris, TX. It is modern, clean, and a nice hotel with awesome staff. You won't be disappointed. However, there were a few problems with our stay. To start, there were some renovations going on at the property during our stay which meant that the ice machines on every floor (except on the first floor) were disconnected and out of order; the refrigerator in the room worked (barely) and did manage to keep our bottled water cool (but not COLD). The AC in the room blew cool air but wasn't really cooling down the room very well. There was also no Kleenex in the bathroom. To top it off, when we came back on Saturday evening after a long day's ride and dining in town, there were two construction workers standing in the hallway on the egress to our room (somewhat blocking our way with all their tools), drinking (beer) and snickering (I heard only part of what was said and will not repeat it here) at me and my wife as we exited the nearby elevator and strolled by on our way to our room. I will say that I these workers were likely not affiliated with this motel other than as contract laborers, but I cannot verify that. I can forgive minor inconveniences such as no ice and no Kleenex, but to have people standing in the hallway as we are going to our room uttering 5th grade bully comments is completely unacceptable. Next year, we will either stay at a few streets to the east at Hampton Inn or a few hundred yards to the west at Holiday Inn Express.

Overall - looks were phenomenal! Very pleasing, very inviting, felt very comfortable! My entire stay was booked for 3 nights and unfortunately the bugs were not discovered until our FINAL night! Then, the last night after discovering and visibly counting 11+ bugs upper management however, seemed to have no care in the world that this hotel had subjected us to something so serious. The poor girl up front was on the phone for SO long with her upper management after we had informed her of this. She tried her best at getting us into another room and did so eventually. However there was ANOTHER visible bug clear as day on the comforter. After coming back down from the second room (that was on an entirely different floor level) it was at our discretion that we needed to vacate the hotel and find other sleeping arrangements. Obviously, photos and videos were taken at this time. But no staff ever came to check on the rooms to see for themselves. Didn't even ask to see the photos or videos. This hotel offered absolutely NO compensation and made it seem as if we were somehow the problem. Next couple of days go by and someone reaches out by email asking for "photo evidence" as "they did a thorough search and found nothing". After sending our "proof" WITH TIMESTAMPS they still made no offer to make it right. It wasn't until I asked about compensation, that they decided to not charge us for the night we checked out at 11:30pm! I would hope I wouldn't get charged for a night I didn't stay, but what about the other TWO nights where bugs could have been making their way into our belongings, just to be carried into our own home. This place is great. It's new, modern, and clean. The halls are well-lit and the grounds, entry, and public areas on the 1st floor are exemplary. The room we had had a full-sized frig and was very clean. We were impressed. We were on the 4th floor and could see the Loop, but there was absolutely no street noise. The blinds and shades were first-class. THIS HOTEL IS HEAD-AND-SHOULDERS ABOVE ANYTHING ELSE IN PARIS, TEXAS!!! Anyway, as for the breakfast, yes, it was free, but it was also not warm. It looked great, but was obviously made way ahead of time and care was not taken to keep it hot. The oatmeal was also undercooked.
