Now that we've been with her for a few months we know we made the right decision! He has gained independence, friends and everyday learning life skills. I had interviewed 4 other daycares in Livermore and didn't feel they were a good match for Kaiya. When we met Julie, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, organized, and loving she was. I based my final decision on which daycare to use by the way they interacted with Kaiya during the first meeting and how the other kids in the daycare were treated. When we first met, she had another child there who was so well mannered and enjoyed being there. What I loved the most is that she has a preschool type curriculum. For a small monthly fee, she provides school projects for each child and teaches them all sorts of things. I immediately signed up with her that day and felt like I found the right match for Kaiya. Although Kaiya was only 2 at that time, it amazed me how much her vocabulary grew. She learned her alphabets and numbers quickly and I am so thankful for the manners Julie taught her. She provides a great education environment but also builds on character and emotions which is just as important. During the summer time, I needed care for my son (who was 7-8 at that time) He was a bit older than her normal kids there but I figured he can handle 2 1/2 months of being around younger children. I expressed to Julie that he was slow in reading and needed help in that area. She enrolled him in a library reading club and he would read daily while at her house. I was so happy to see how much his confidence grew when it came to reading. When he started 3rd grade (he had the same teacher as in 2nd grade) she commented at how well he is reading. Julie provides nutritious snacks and meals while Jordyn is there so I don't have to spend time packing food for her.
