I have lived here several years, long enough to note the negative changes that have occurred here. as for me, I realize that things break down and need to be fixed from time to time. With this said, whenever I call for a maintenance repair, the wait is longer and longer. I realize they are short of staff but having water damage coming through your walls is serious and should be treated as such. Also, there were loose appliances for years that I kept reporting. they were causing structural damage as well as water damage. I was told they would paint my space several years ago but have not. there are cracks all over the tiles but I was told they couldn't do anything because it was just an older property . They are in kitchen and bathrooms and look so embarrassing! They put in hard wood flooring but the men who put it in did not seal off the ends, leaving boards loose and unattached in areas. I have holes on the upper walls and lower walls in several spots of apartment. one maintenance worker said it could be the wiring of the unit near me. I did research and found that besides insects, other bugs that Rodents can live in there! Terrified of critters, especially Mice and I will likely pass out if I see a rat! I have had mold, also black mold. My daughter, who has a serious respiratory issue, went to stay with my Mom for awhile out of concern for health. They were using very antiquated fans that were filthy to dry and water patch holes. It Seemed to work until it didn't. I used to keep track of all orders I needed but I know they are short staffed( because they tell me) they have done some nice maintenance jobs for me but as a renter, it has to be up to code to be eligible for public housing. the parking, or lack there of is a sore subject for the residents. could a renter's meeting be an option? Everyone's opinions are valid and need to be heard. Plus, it could establish positive change. Could we bring back a Fall yard sale? This is something that happened under different leadership and brought the community together. There are little things the admins and residents can do collectively to try to make this a place a positive, friendly one that people Want to live. currently, I cannot advocate for parc Reston though that could change. If you are considering this place, opt for 2-3 floor. First floor gets a lot of bugs and spiders. read more

I am surprised by all of the negative reviews, we have lived here for years and have had positive experiences. As for parking: As long as guests are logged in for parking and we have our parking decals, there has never been an issue. From my understanding, parking used to be quite an issue before towing was enforced - resident's parking spots were taken by people coming from the Town Center. Having to have a decal on your car for parking is the exact same policy I've encountered at other condos that I have lived in. As for the positive aspects: The location is great - literally a three minute walk to Whole Foods and five to the Town Center. The site is well maintained, the flowers are beautiful, and the area is kept clean. I have always felt safe here and often go walking with my small children. The area is quiet and I have never heard of anyone having any problems with pests. We have found the administration to be helpful - for example, we have needed paint for our door twice which they have supplied. They've also been responsive when we have needed new decals for our car or questions about the pool. All at all living here has been a very positive experience for us. read more

Management is corrupt and policies are anti-resident. I'm a resident, and was just illegally towed from the property. The corrupt management had the ability to help but refused, so I had to call the police to get my car back. Worst management/HOA I've ever seen. read more

Unfortuantely, they require that you update your license, car registration, pay a $250 move in fee, and even then you may be illigally towed. Do not buy or rent from these people. The worst management company I have dealt with. Peter and Wendy are bulldogs waiting to power trip and make you bend to their rules. Feel the same as what others are saying about a corrupt board and management company. Along with the parking nonsense be aware of who you rent from. They are supposed to know the rules but in our case she didn't. And had the nerve to charge us for a cleaning despite meeting us at our move out and not saying a word about any uncleaned areas. We've never lost security deposit money before. Note she didn't have the place professionally cleaned when she moved out and we moved in, yet charged us for professionally cleaning when we moved out. For the person who rented 1734D Ascot Way, be prepared when you move out to lose deposit and other than small claims court, no way to get it out of the owner. Lastly we encountered a passed out man near the pool in the spring, and saw 2 different homeless men mosey-ing around in September and October. read more

This is second time this year my car windowed got broken and cracked while parked in the parking lot of parc Reston. First time, it had to be neighbors vandalized my window bc I reported them commuting fraud on government benefits by concealing some facts about themselves, and they got revengeful with me. That was this March 2024. My church friends helped pay for my car window repair bc I was out of work since January. I lost insurance last year bc neighbor commit fraud claims on my United health care. While I was working in January teaching piano lesson at a school, I got sick and did not have health insurance...was waiting for Medicaid. I have problems after problems with neighbors trespassing my home, stealing or vandalizing my furniture, as well as hacking my internet. A lot of good families just moved, due a few evil wicked neighbors. I had passport stolen from my car in Feb. Stimulus check stolen from March 2021. 1/10 - I would not recommend. If you are renter, beware. If you have a VA loan, they don't accept them (thank you for your service... but look elsewhere). This place is a racket and in cahoots with the towing company. The registration process for parking is unnecessarily arduous, no eforms and coupled with the poor communication from the main office only prolongs the process. Place charges a $250 move in fee, to get "support" from the main office. What a joke. Car was towed after all forms were submitted and was waiting for communication on next steps. Stuck footing the bill for the tow, after office playing dumb about lack of communication. After you submit all your paper hard copy forms, then you have to register online with the parking company repeating the same process you just did. read more

The administration is inefficient and lazy. The " manager" is very important and has no time to provide solutions. Every step is very burocratic. The services take months to be done. This is definitely the WORST management and administration that I ever had had in almost 30 years living in the area. read more

Pros: The area is wonderful, the complex is well maintained, and overall neighbors have been okay. Cons: Management is consistently unhelpful and unkind. The parking policy is extreme and the tow trucks prowl around like vultures constantly. Management is not at all willing to accommodate you in any way and do not treat you like anything other than a number. I do not plan to sign my lease again, and I look forward to leaving. read more

The parking policy is beyond stupid and it's holding rents down. You need to register your vehicle at the apartment address AND change you license to the apartment address in order to use the parking space you paid for without fear of your car being towed -- regardless of whether you have multiple residences or vote elsewhere. I have not encountered this at any of the other places I have lived. read more

I've lived here for about 3 years. Over this time I have seen an improvement in Managment. Two people (Peter and Wendy) have proven to be very reasonable and helpful. The parking in this crowded condo area (Across from RTC) but it seems they are taking reasonable measures to manage it...not anywhere close to perfect but way better than my experience living in the city. You get what you pay for and I would still rate Parc Reston as a good value largely due to the great location. If you want something nicer and better parking..The Harrison is about 2X the cost per square foot. I'll take the inconveniance (parking and the occasional inconsiderate neighbors) but it's all based on what you value and how much you are willing to pay. read more

This is probably the worst area with the worst management. The rules are so stupid they made this area unsafe, they don't add cameras anywhere and they prevent you from adding your own camera. Another point is the stupid parking policy. I have never encountered this anywhere, I don't know why the management team is doing this to the people, the county has to change everyone on the management team asap. read more

Horrible management. Honestly the worst. Lived here for 10 out of 12 month lease because the front office was so unreasonable. I paid double rent for 2 months just to get out of there. Wendy is ok but Peter is terrible. It is truly incredible to see such a small amount of power go to someone's head. If he can inconvenience you, he will. Full story - wife and I both had cars. Wife and I had terrible luck and experienced loss of BOTH vehicles. We borrowed one my parents vehicle while we saved to buy another car. We asked the front office is there was any way to park in one of our two assigned spots with the borrowed car. They said no, have to park on the street. Car was then clipped on the street. The stories and other reviews are true: the management at Parc Reston is a problem. They are competent in many areas, but are often rude, overly bureaucratic, and defensive when communicating with them directly. I dread anytime I have to reach out to them. I have rented for almost 4 years and for 3 of those years, my balcony was deemed unsafe and unfit to be out on. It took management a LONG time to come up with a plan to fix decaying structures throughout the community. Once the plan was in action, they gave vague updates on progress and unreliable timelines. Twice I had to move all my patio furniture indoors on little notice. To their credit, the balcony was fixed albeit over 2 years after the first notice of the problem. In other missteps, getting parking passes is always a nightmare that requires stringent paperwork and having to deal with the stressed out management who treat you like a hassle instead of the client you are to them. I give three stars because the location is great, my landlord is amazing, and my apartment is nice. But I would never buy or own here simply because it would mean more interaction with unhelpful management and an incompetent board/association- there are plenty of places in Reston to live that don't provide that stress. read more

I moved to Parc Reston a little over a month ago into a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. Hallways are clean, grounds are well maintained, neighbors keep to themselves or are friendly, and overall physically is a decent place to live. Not management but more so policy is what deters me from giving it a better rating. I urge anyone interesting in living or buying a place here to learn about the parking policy first. It is very stringent and requires every vehicle to be registered in the name of the owner and the address of the property. That's not exactly ideal for many people (i.e. parents purchased vehicle, insurance wants registration to have the primary insured name, etc). read more

i like the neighborhood, and my unit, but peter and wendy (especially wendy) make this place worthy of one star. they are extremely rude, unhelpful, and they make everything a headache and a nightmare. office hours are appt only right now (understandable) but i have been waiting for almost two weeks to simply renew my parking pass, and therefore have had to park on the street - off the property - during that time. any time i have the misfortune of going to the office, NO ONE is in there, therefore i find it hard to believe they are so swamped that they can't reissue my parking pass for weeks. what an absolute joke - and this isn't even the biggest inconvenience i've been subjected to in the four years i've resided here. read more

Another Update on the outstanding management of Parc Reston. Of course, I know the Washington DC area was hit with 30 Inches of snow on 1/21/16, today, after 5 days, I was able to dig my car out. Notice, I said, I was able to do this. Parc Reston has again neglected the residents here with their unavailable service. Most residents had to shovel their own snow around their vehicles, but Parc Reston failed to properly help their residents in an effective, customer service way. If you want to live here, and I am VERY much considering not living here any longer, you will have remove your own snow. To be even more honest, I feel that the Parc Reston Management is not solvent. I think they are cutting corners left and right to save money (which we all do) but now it is affecting the residents. Please do your due diligence before you rent or buy in this neighborhood. read more

You would think since the residents are the ones that are essentially the only reason they have jobs, they would be just a little more friendly and not so difficult to work with. They don't work with the residents, they work against them and pick and choose which "rules" they want to follow and who they make follow them. My car has been towed twice for ridiculous reasons. When I talked to the office about it, you could hear pleasure in their voice because of how upset I was about it. They don't try and level with you or understand where you are coming from at all. Maybe because of their crooked contract they have with the towing company and the compensation they get for towed cars. Deb "flagged" my unit because I am difficult to deal with (we rent, don't own). She won't even talk to us, provide pool passes, air filters, etc... all of this has to be done through the landlord; very childish. I have never made an illegitimate complaint nor have I ever been rude, unprofessional, or aggressive in my communication; I have always been respectful, but yes, I did communicate my concerns which I guess she doesn't know how to appropriately handle. She simply doesn't want to deal with someone who is calling her out on what she does wrong. Back when it snowed in January, it took probably 3 days for us to even see anyone come in to do snow removal. And when they did, I see them shoveling around the clubhouse before doing anything that would actually benefit the residents. The only reason our sidewalks got cleared is because of a neighbor. It is one thing when one or two people have issues with the same person/management company, but when it is the majority of the residents, that is really saying something. It is clearly Deb/the management company with the issue. What ever happened to people working together to come to common ground on something? These days it seems better to rent than to own and have to deal with an association. The things that they are allowed to somehow get away with is just mind blowing. I have a friend that lives in a condo and has an association, but she has never had to deal with anything like what the residents at Parc Reston have had to deal with. As I mentioned, my car has been towed twice. But when I have gotten back late at night before with no parking, and then see cars parked with no resident or visitor pass and they aren't being towed, this is concerning. I have called the towing company on unauthorized vehicles before, but they were never towed. But when someone they KNOW is a resident has a parking permit that just expired, they tow them right away. It is so wrong and twisted. It is bad enough that I rent and have to deal with this, much less those who own. Bottom line: don't live here, period. Why spend this much money on a condo to have to put up with behavior such as this. read more

I have lived at ParcReston for almost 7 years and can honestly say that this community has and is continuing to change for the better. While there is truth to some of the comments made below, there have been noticeable improvements that address many of the dated complaints people have left here. Its unfortunate that reviewers haven't come back to update their original reviews. Not sure if everyone knows this, but there is a new Property Manager (Peter) - a much needed and welcome change! While he is firm on enforcing the rules/bylaws, he's also friendly and professional when I have to interact with him. I also really like the assistant, Wendie, that works in the office. She's been helpful when I have had general questions and she's also friendly and professional. The balcony project did drag on a bit, but the end result looks great and I'm happy to be able to enjoy it and entertain out there. Our stairwells were also recently cleaned and repainted which has infused a lot of life back into the buildings. I love the decision to get rid of the 8 colored guest passes and only have to deal with 1 guest pass now - it takes hassle out of coordinating when I have guests over. And this review wouldn't be complete without me saying that I LOVE that we have now gone to reserved parking!!! This was a HUGE improvement to the quality of life here as I can get home at any hour of the day and know that there is a space open for me near my building. I was having to park on the street at times so I definitely feel safer not having to do so. Yes, the towing is enforced on-site, but if you follow the rules laid out, towing should actually never be a *real* issue. All in all, I love living here. We're close to everything that you would want to be close to in Reston, its affordable to live here, and the improvements that are being made have just made everything even better. We parked in an unmarked space and was towed. There were four spaces with no signage or markings on the spaces. In fact there was a sign with an arrow pointing to the right that indicated resident parking only. The 4 unmarked spaces were to the left of the sign. We had 2 vehicles towed with no warning. We specifically looked for unmarked spaces as we visited family. Another guest in our party contacted "Deb" in the office. Wow, super rude and unprofessional. She continually interrupted the conversation and wouldn't hear us out. Based on the other Yelp reviews as well, sounds like Parc Reston needs to #1 hire more customer oriented staff and #2 label all parking spaces clearly. Think twice before buying or leasing a condo at Parc Reston. They have the absolute worse parking policy. The policy is worse than what is found in lower income apartment complexes. The idea of having to place a parking pass in and remove a parking pass from any guest who visits your home after 6pm is absurd. No matter how short the visit, all cars can be towed after 6pm. They will find a reason to tow your car for almost any reason. The visitor parking policy requires you to use color coded seasonal passes that expire every 3 months. You can not go about day to day life and having visitors without worrying whether or not you have the correctly color coded pass for the quarter (there's not even a 24 hour grace period for swapping out the right colors) or risk paying $125 to have your car released from the tow truck company which is at least 10 miles away from the complex. If you have a visitor from out of town for more than 3 days, the guest pass means nothing because you guest will have to park on the street after day 3 or risk his/her car being towed. Got a temporary pass from the complex while working through registering your car when you moved here? That's a problem too. Your car can still be towed despite current tags and a temporary pass. This place must receive kickbacks from the tow truck company, as they will allow your and your guest's cars to be towed within a moment's notice. Northern Virginia is a nice place for people who want to live here, but skip this place... get what you pay for, and go spend your money somewhere else. read more
