The atmosphere is relaxed, educational, informative, and most of all, entertaining for the entire family. The entire staff is knowledgeable about the era, customs, culture, and history of Rocky Mount. I had some questions about spinning wheels and they not only answered them but, they gave me a description of the wheel and its evolution. They had a woman spinning yarn who also explained some of the nuances of spinning. The tours describe the way of life, give demonstrations of that life, and delve into history that shaped those lives. From rope making to candle making, cooking, and the military of the day, there is always something new to behold. Taking a tour inside their museum features some real eye-opening exhibits regarding farm tools, medicine, and hand-made items from buttons and stone arrowheads to the crude woodworking of the late 1700s into the 1800s. The site features the actual Cobb-Massengill home and other original structures. The blacksmith area demonstrates actual metalworking, as does their sheep shearing event, Wooly Day, which is coming up on May 10th, 2025. The annual event is held at the Rocky Mount State Historic Site just outside of Piney Flats, TN. This is just one of the many events they hold throughout the year. We have attended a few of their events including their Harvest Festival and Christmas tours and events. Each event is unique and provides a fresh view of history that pertains to the respective period of the season. In this crazy rushed world, it is a relaxing step back into a simpler and more down-to-earth time. If you're looking for something different to do and at the same time rewarding, you should attend one of the Rocky Mount Museum's events.

There's a 15 minute video in a super comfortable theater that gives you the background of the museum. There was a gentleman that works there that was chatting before the film and he was a wealth of knowledge. There's a great store with some treasures and a special exhibit area. Saw Wicked here last night. Our party of four arrived the parking lot was full with a line of…read morepeople out the door. Of the two sets of doors in the front, half of them weren't functioning which meant that big crowds were all moving in and out of the building through one set of doors. Not great. We stand in a line of about 60 people with 15 of those being outdoors in late November in Abingdon where the temperature is in the upper 30s. Brrrrr. We asked folks around us if they had already bought tickets, if this line was just for concessions, etc. but no one was certain. After eventually moving inside we saw that the ticket purchase line and the concession line appeared to be the same one. Also, we saw that no one was checking tickets as you entered the theater area. So we got out of line and went to our theater. We had bought tickets in advance but it should would have been easy for anyone just to head right in without tickets. The staff looked overwhelmed, understandably so, but the line arrangement and information were poor. We were in a theater with the multiway reclining seats. I kept mine upright for most of the film but when I did try to recline, many of the buttons didn't work.

They have shown it every year since, and I have been fortunate enough to go every time the doors have been open for it. However, after tonight, I will not be returning to this establishment. My friends were approached and threatened by a man getting in their face complaining about the audience callbacks. (To any Cinemall staff: I was in the same row, I saw it happen!) In the twelve years they've shown the movie, they should know full well what kind of movie this is and that callbacks are part of the program. Doubly so since they've invested in the Tolls of Madness shadowcast during some years. To make things worse, the same man that complained also admitted to bringing his underage kid to see the movie. Despite knowing that, the manager of the establishment decided to move to kick out my friends over the callbacks instead of kicking out the man and his daughter. So when my friends were forced to leave, my wife and I walked out with them. As such, I was given my refund when it was offered for the tickets I purchased, and I also turned in a free movie pass I was given at work. I will not return. Not if I'm going to be gagged from participating at the one movie that allows it. Thanks for losing a 12-year paying customer. P.S. Since you read my review on Google and left a nasty response, I've contacted your CEO. I've also emailed the Tolls of Madness and informed them of what you really think of your local Rocky Horror fans.

It shares the same entrance as the 620 restaurant but is in the back. Great venue for about 80 or so audience. The 3 comics were great and for $20 it was a great way spend an evening w friends. We were laughing the whole time. Drinks at the bar were good too. We met at a restaurant beforehand and got to the club a bit earlier than the 8pm start. The headliner was Brad Wenzel who was from LA and fantastic. Most of us bought his LP afterwards. There were 2 others opening up including locals Bryan Morten and Jared from Alaska. Whole show was about 90 min. Hope they get more talent passing through!
