Everything about this place makes you aware that the Fleur and its staff give a damn about their product in every way. Excellent customer service, three terrific theatres with great screens and sound, clean restrooms, a fun and colorful lobby, incredible artwork, and superb popcorn! Film pricing is cheaper than most, and vast indie film offerings exist. Shout-out to Mallory and Dev for their attention to detail and kindness. Such a gorgeous and modern venue - I loved it so much! We came here for a Des Moines Symphony's…read moreABBA performance and it was absolutely delightful! We were in the very front row, so up close and personal to all the action on stage. What was wild was that we got our tickets the day before and that's when a ton of the closer row tickets became available. We snagged ours at the cheapest price and that came as quite a surprise, it made me wonder if they intentionally held a ton of tickets until the last minute or if there were just that many cancellations or something, that was a bit confusing. But our experience at the Civic Center was incredible! The space is very open and is sort of like one gradually increasing level from the stage. There's no mezzanine or balcony, but you will just go up the stairs to your row depending on how far back you are. The bathrooms were also great and plentiful, so there weren't any crazy lines for women's or men's bathrooms during the intermission. The Civic Center is located in the heart of downtown Des Moines. There is a ton of parking structures and lots available all around for very reasonable prices. I believe our parking fee was only $5, which for a major city is pretty unheard of! The Civic Center lobby also has a few bars that you can pick up drinks at! I got a Coke in a souvenir Des Moines Symphony cup and was able to take it into the center with me. In my mind, this is just wild because I don't know that I've ever taken a refreshment into a concert put on by a symphony, so that was a delight! Normally, photos and videos are not allowed in the Civic Center, but because of the nature of this concert in particular, they were actually highly encouraged this time! We had a great time and I'd recommend checking out what performances are going on while you're in Des Moines to see if any pique your interest! It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday evening in town!

If you want VIP you pay a little more and walk right to the front of the line. After you pay you are fair game. The ghost and zombies are there to get you. I am not going to ruin any surprises cause I bet they will be back next year and I hope so. The smell of the place really contributed to the whole experience. That is what we like. This review is supposed to be about the Slaughterhouse. We got there early because with our SlipKnoT meet and greet we got in early to meet the band and be one of the first inside the haunted attraction. The entire experience was fun. The inside was very dark in places where i couldn't see a thing and got a bit lost inside trying to find my way. I tried to turn my screen on to see the way and i was yelled at saying "no phones" which I can understand but we should be able to know where we are going. I also tried to get a couple sneak peek shots inside for the Yelp community!! The attraction was fun and it looked well put together. The costumes were not just face paint either. It looked like they spent some time putting together the costume. It is a drag when the employees do not put in any effort. These guys were NOT like that. One guy even swung over the top of the group. I think anyone would enjoy this whether SlipKnoT was there or not.

The biggest selling point of Monsterama is the amazing and friendly staff. The wonderful lady server that has always been there during our visits is kind, patient, and thorough.
