Went in for shellac nails, which included removing my previous shellac application + a basic manicure. This set me back 30€, but the quality of service justified it. Amazing choice of colours from two catalogues: one from OPI and another from cnd-shellac. This isn't the most private of locations though, with people constanty walking by, so I don't know if I'd be very comfortable doing a pedi here. The noise from the shopping centre coupled with their own sound system - playing a radio station - caused some (minor) communication issues.

They do have the same amount of gorgeous colours, same treatments and prices and the staff does rotate between the 2 branches. This one is a bit more 'in and out' due to the set-up, clients are very on display here. The mini manicure I got was good but I do prefer the Southside branch, mainly because it's less cramped and a bit more 'private'.

I opted for the Essential Manicure, which covers everything a US mani normally comes with - massage, cuticle care, file, polish and shine. I couldn't quite find the shade I wanted and kept saying, "A slightly redder, lighter oxblood" so Lien pulled out a few shades and tested a few on my nails. She also suggested making our own shade by doing a red base with a darker top... And she nailed it! (Heh) I would have never thought of it and it sounds silly to get so excited but I've just never had anyone nail this color before! (Yay all the puns!) I love my nails and will definitely come back to see Lien again before I leave. :)

Don't let the website or low prices put you off... this place is not cluttered or tacky! I went…read morebecause I had bought a deal voucher online, when I looked at the website I immediately regretted my decision as the treatments were very cheap and there were hot pink debs specials screaming off the page. What I arrived to was a cosy professional salon using and selling all the usual lovelies- OPI, dermalogica etc. The equipment was all brand new and modern, including my favourite- the heated treatment bed! Wowee. Even though I had a voucher there was no scrimping on the treatments. I find some places try cut corners on these deals. The girl who looked after me was really friendly, she gave some helpful info about the area as the place is quite tricky to find. There was no awkward sales pitch or snide comments encouraging me to buy something I don't need. I will definitely be going back as I know now the low prices are good value, not low standards!

I would have expected any good salon to actually redo both your hands! But no not that case! I would never return here.

It costs €20 for a full shellac manicure, which includes cuticle work & removal. Amazing value! Kate always makes sure that your nails are perfect and that you are totally happy with them before you leave. She is very accommodating and will always try to get you an appointment when she can. Having been to lots of different spas & salons over the years I can confidently say that I think Magic Nail Bar with Kate is my favourite place to go for a manicure.
