If you hire Paradise, you risk your yard becoming anything but.  We hired Paradise to remove a number of weak/dying trees in our property, as well as to do some brush removal. So where to begin?  TL;DR: Hire Paradise only if you want them to: (1) destroy your lawn; (2) cut your beautiful dogwood tree without being asked; (3) use your lawn as a storage area for their large equipment for over a month; (4) see how long they can drag out the job.  THE DEETS: 1. Paradise destroyed our lawn- mostly because they chose to do work in the rain. They drove their heavy machinery on our lawn during a steady rain, killing the grass and causing deep grooves everywhere.  They did not use any rope or other lowering mechanism when cutting the trees. By letting branches and chunks of tree just fall freely to the ground, they caused large divots all over our lawn. They also dragged logs across the lawn, uprooting and killing more grass. Doing it in the rain definitely didn't help - no one told them to work in the rain. We never rushed them or told them to hurry up and start working. They did not lay down any mats or boards; they simply drove their vehicles and machines directly onto our lawn.  While it was raining (sorry, can't get over this fact). They were not apologetic; they just told me I should have  known there would be some damage.  Yes, but look at the photos - this is UNREASONABLE damage.  2. They cut two large branches of our dogwood tree - we did not tell them to cut this, and they were not supposed to cut this tree. We have no idea why they cut these branches. They did not tell us. They did not acknowledge this until we pointed this out to them. There was no apology. They just stated that it was a clean cut and they couldn't do anything now that they already cut it.  The beautiful dogwood did not need to be cut. They gave us a small credit - only after we asked for it.  Sap kept streaming from the tree where it was cut for a couple days.  We hope the tree stays healthy and survives. 3. They started the work in mid-April. They finished in early June.  Yes, sometimes it rained and they couldn't work (this was AFTER we told them they should not be doing any work when it's raining or when our lawn is still wet - we thought this was an industry standard - or at least common sense). There were some beautiful sunny days/weeks, but they did not come. That did not stop them from leaving their equipment on our property. We started wondering whether we should charge them rent. We had to contact them to ask if they were going to come back and finish the job because we hadn't heard from them in weeks.  Half the time they did not respond to our calls/emails requesting updates. We tried our best to be patient; we did not call regularly - but we did want to know if they would come back after nearly 2 weeks of no update... and some pretty darn nice days and a lawn dry enough for us to mow (which we did... around their equipment and mess). 4. We indicated our dissatisfaction the second day of work, and they agreed that they would try to fix/re-seed where the grass has now died. They did fill in and try to even out some areas, re-seed, and lay down some straw - perhaps they underestimated how much damage they did because they were unable to completely fill in the areas with soil and they ran out of topsoil and straw.  But by that point, we were done and ready to move on with our lives. Ironic though because their website says: "We care for your landscape as if it were our own." I would be sorry to see their lawns if they treated their lawns like they treated ours - our lawn was a sorry sight after they were done.  We don't know what quality grass they put down; they insisted it was comparable quality to what we have and will grow back every year.  If it grows back well next year, maybe I'll add a star.  Maybe. They do deserve the one star I have to give: at least they cut the trees we hired them to cut.... eventually. read more

Have been getting firewood from these people several times over the past 7 years with a hit or miss, sometimes ok sometimes green and one time a pickup truck worth of bark,dirt and debris. But this year takes the cake I ordered the 4 cord dumpster back in August in Oct. I called to check the status of order and they said I wasn't on the list? considering I was a regular customer they added me. Since then I was promised the wood in Nov...... then Dec.....then Jan......no wood? I called asked to speak to owner the guy who answers the phone sometimes said he would call me...no call back no wood and here we are the end of Jan. When there is this poor a display of customer service there is only one thing to do... never call or recommend them again and I advise others to do the same. read more

I promptly received a quote and was advised one would be sent by email. The following day I was called as they had an opening and could come that afternoon to trim 2 maple trees and cut down 2 other trees in back yard. At end of day I was advised someone would come back the following day for the logs that weren't chopped up. I paid and have been waiting and calling since beginning of October for them to come and get these logs. I even put them on a small garden cart and hauled them to my driveway so they wouldn't rip out my lawn dragging them. I was advised as "a courtesy" they would come and pick them up. A courtesy to complete what you told me you would do? Needless to say a week had gone by and I still gave these blasted logs. I never received the quoted email, I never received the promised email receipt of payment. They didn't do what I asked as only trimmed 1 side of tree and their word means nothing. Two of our neighbors hired Paradise for tree removal and while "dropping" one of the trees a branch hit our house and damaged our siding in multiple places. This was about 2 months ago. We were advised we would receive a call advising when someone would be out to repair the damage but that call never came. My husband called Marc's cell phone about a week ago and left a message and still radio silence. This is poor service and poor business but also upsetting on a personal level. We didn't even hire this company and we are left with damage. My husband is disabled and cannot climb a ladder to repair this himself, nor should he be expected to. Nor should we have to incur cost to rectify this! I have worked in customer service my entire career in many capacities and this is a perfect example of a company that may have presented well up front for the initial service but offers no support when there is a problem. If they had done the right thing and taken care of this issue I would have sung their praises to all...now I will be sure to tell everyone about this experience and steer them to away from Paradise. read more

I am beyond pleased with the service and attention Paradise gave me with an emergency tree removal on my property! The two teams who came to take down the tree and remove it, as well as the people at the office, were respectful and professional. After one of the many storms that hit, I had a bit of an emergency situation with a dead tree that had snapped and was precariously hanging in a manner that a strong gust of wind would take the broken section down, potentially taking out power or hurting someone on the street. I live on a hill, so the situation didn't make it easy for removal. Another storm was expected for the end of week and I was worried. After calling a few places and being told I would have to wait a couple weeks for even an estimate because of how busy everyone was with the storms, they agreed to come out and give me an estimate. Seeing the situation, they worked to get a Team out there as soon as possible. The day before the storm hit, the Team came out and took the tree down. This was on a Saturday, after they were already working on an earlier job. They got the tree down safely, which eased my mind. Today, the tree was removed from my yard and they left the property is perfect condition! Cutting down the stump, cleaning up the area, and going above and beyond to make sure my property looked perfect before they left. I couldn't be happier! read more

Hired this company to take down and haul away several trees. They cut down the trees but I waited months for them to remove the logs. I called their office several times and was told someone would get back to me. No one ever did. I also wrote to the owner and he advised me he was away and couldn't handle the problem. Finally, I put out an ad and I got some people to take most of the wood for firewood. About 2 months after I spoke with the owner someone came and took away 2 pieces of remaining wood. read more

DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE FOR SEASONED FIREWOOD!!! we got in touch with Paradise Landscaping and Tree Removal based on locality and price. mistake! for $225 we were delivered a cord of 80% fresh cut wood when what was advertised was a cord of seasoned, ready to burn wood. upon calling the company to arrange delivery, i was assured that the split cord we would be receiving had been seasoned for at least two years. . . ready to burn. the truck came in the rain and dumped the logs in the yard. we paid and the truck driver left, but as we began stacking in our garage, realized the weight and obvious dampness of the wood beyond having been in the rain for an hour at most, as it had been drizzly, but not pouring that day. my partner split and checked the core of the pieces and they were fresh. he made a phone call to Paradise and spoke to a secretary who promised the owner would call back. when he did, he claimed that it was impossible that we had been delivered green wood as it had been aged two years, and to call back in a couple weeks of it having been covered in our garage assuring it would be dry. it has been 8 weeks at this point and 70% of our wood is moldy and covered with frosted moisture content. when we burn it in our fireplace, what hasn't been cut into kindling by my mister, sizzles and drips. the people at Paradise Landscaping and Tree Removal are deceiving. after having spread word about this experience, my sister claimed a similarly disappointing experience in using the company as a tree removal service. be forewarned. read more

The receptionist took down my complaint, said she passed it to higher management and didn't make me feel like anyone there would reach out to correct the problem. The plus side is that my neighbors I found through nextdoor dot com pointed me in the right direction. This company completely destroyed my yard (back, both sides & front) and after a written guarantee to fix any concerns I had about their work, they ignored my repeated calls. They should not be in the hydro seeding business! They severely shorted me on soil and the necessary materials for the job. And to add insult, an employee showed up the morning after the initial job, to lightly fill in some areas with grass seed, instead of the using the correct mixture, of the actual formula I had paid for. I gave Paradise months and 4 full seasons, to make amends, and neither Allan (the sales manager) or Russ (the owner, who yelled at me after I had insisted they fix the hack job they did), had the decency or professionalism, to follow through on their guarantee and stand by their craftsmanship, or should I say, lack-thereof. Steer clear of this company, else you will be doing yourself a disservice and have you lawn be laid to waste. Firewood delivered was not good, and after repeated attempts to get anyone to come out and review the issues, nobody would. The firewood is massive chunks of wood that was full of mud and not seasoned. Not only was the guy 30mins late to the appointment but also very rude. The person that was sent would not give us a quote and stormed off the property.
