I've been there dozens and dozens of times over the last 20 years mostly by myself. I will not spend that much money for a day pass.

Their room had a sliding wood/glass door that didn't lock and mine was a sliding door with flimsy latch. I def wouldn't have stayed if I was concerned about security...couldn't sit on patio as there were wasps nest. FRONT DESK: She needs training. RESTAURANT: Only one was open when I went (this was several months ago), they had like 4 items and RIDICULOUS prices and service was AWFUL, even for a to go... CAFE: Over priced again..and coffee not great. VALET: The young Hispanic guy that I kept crossing everytime I needed a cart ride was only into his phone. I was concerned at one point because he was driving while texting (yes I know it's a golf cart but still) he barely took his eyes off the phone. LAUNDRY: OLD dirty AND 2 did not work! Each bldg has 1 washer and dryer and I had to walk to different bldgs to find one that worked. GOLF: Anyone I came into contact with on the green was very nice. GYM: Gym was NOT walkable it was miles away. CATERING: Lady was nice that set up dinner and breakfast, not sure what the deal with the kitchen chef/staff was because twice they would come out and remove food we paid for before people even got to eat! Overall, good (If I was paying it would be rated diff). This place can try and update all they want, but without the proper staff it's not going to be a success. Highly recommend the owner gets a new manager because this one is not competent (never met the manager just assuming as they wouldn't have all these negative reviews if the manager was competent, whilst Reno isn't fixable...clean sheets and staff are).

I had high hopes for this resort, as we were here for a week for a corporate sales meeting. but…read moreunfortunately, the experience felt less like a relaxing getaway and more like being assigned to a forgotten outpost with room keys. The rooms were not only smelly and poorly cared for, but they came with a special bonus: food left in the refrigerator from a previous guest. Nothing says "luxury resort" quite like opening the fridge and discovering someone else's leftovers still enjoying their vacation. The entire hotel and conference center feels old, dated, and badly in need of attention. Not "charming historic character" dated -- more like "no one has invested in this place since fax machines were exciting" dated. Getting from the rooms to the conference center is its own endurance event. Be prepared to hike what feels like a country mile just to attend a meeting. They do offer golf cart pickup, theoretically. Whether someone actually arrives is apparently part of the resort's mystery-adventure experience. Food options were also a disappointment. The resort advertises a high-end steak restaurant, which sounds wonderful until you realize it was never open. That left the bar as the only real food option, because apparently nothing says resort dining like being forced to eat wherever someone happens to still be serving fries. Overall, this property is tired, inconvenient, poorly maintained, and wildly overpromised. The marketing suggests upscale resort. The reality suggests "conference center that gave up." I would not recommend staying here unless you enjoy mystery leftovers, long walks, and the suspense of wondering whether basic services will happen.

Checkin for members and non-members of World Of Hyatt is smooth and the service is quick, professional, and done with politeness that is genuine. My double room had all the required elements and restocked coffee every morning. The iron and hairdryer worked perfectly as well. This stay was a bit different because while I was here the hotel had a fire on my floor. The facility did an excellent job moving a large amount of people (3 floors of us) down stairs to the lower level in the early morning hours. While the fire department was on site the hotel kept us all informed and safe. It worked exactly the way it should for the hotel and the guests. I was very impressed. We returned to our rooms once the floors were completely checked and I did not once feel my safety was at risk before or after the event. Checkout was smooth as well.

The guy at the front desk was accommodating and said he only had bay view rooms available for early check in. Although this was an additional fee of $30/night, we decided to pay for it because we were tired from traveling. We got a room on the 7th floor, with bay and pool views. The room was spacious, clean, and provided everything we needed for the stay. They also have an onsite restaurant and a store on the 1st floor. We walked by the pool area, but did not get in because it was a bit chilly. We also walked to the other end of the hotel where the casitas are, it looked like a pretty cool area to revisit in the future. We booked the hotel through Hotels.com. The total provided at booking was around $650...after checking out our total then went to almost $1000. I understand the upgrade for the bay view of $30/night, however there are hidden fees that were not previously disclosed. In addition, someone charged a breakfast buffet to our room. I did make a complaint and was refunded, however they need to reconsider their methods for guests charging restaurant food to rooms. Overall the stay was good. I just think they should do a better job with disclosing hidden fees and restaurants procedures.

For some reason Yelp! isn't great with International stuff yet, but if you find yourself in the Cayman Islands, book the Chef's Tasting menu here. They have a regular menu too, but we sat at the 10 person per night Chef's table (Thu-Sun). The menu changes occasionally and the chef says it takes 5-6 months to plan and put it together. Making sure ingredients and wine pairings are available is key, and they did it well. We were there for the last week of the menu we tried and wished we were staying the week so we could have tried the new menu. It's amazing how the wine improved after eating some of the food, like a magician put a magic wand in my glass! Eww and yum! There's a "normal" wine pairing and an "elevated" wine pairing. The Mrs. and I did different ones so we could try 10 wines instead of 5. I will say in every case, the higher end wine won the battle, so it was worth the upgrade. The one thing that really stood out was the couple next to us had someone with a gluten allergy (which they told when they made the reservation). The chef went out of his way to make the proper substitutions so she could participate in the event. Excellent job to the team, but make sure you tell them well in advance so they can prepare. Don't just show up and say "I can't eat Shellfish". Each dish was elegantly displayed, explained by the head chef or one of the other chefs and tasted amazing. Be prepared to be amazed by the dishes you eat! I'll spare you the review of each dish, but it was one of the better chef's menu tastings we've been to. The Tuna was my favorite, but not by much! I would go back just for this restaurant, but the hotel itself is amazing too! Definitely book in advance if you're staying at the Kimpton Seafire!

The Hilton Garden Inn is a masterclass in mediocrity, delivering an utterly forgettable experience…read morethat makes you question why you didn't just sleep in your car. The facilities are as average as it gets--think dated decor, a gym with two old treadmills, and a pool that's more of an afterthought than a proper amenity. The rooms? Clean enough, but so bland you'll forget you're in a hotel and not a budget office space. Then come the fees, a shameless parade of nickel-and-diming that would make a budget airline blush. Want Wi-Fi that doesn't crawl like a dial-up connection? Fork over extra. Need a bottle of water to survive the inexplicably dry air? That's another charge. But the real insult is the $8 parking fee for a lot that's apparently just for show--you can't even use it because it's always full, being shared with 20 other businesses in the business park. Instead, you're left circling like a vulture or parking blocks away, lugging your bags through a sketchy back street parking lot. Don't worry, they will still charge you a full fee. The staff are marginally polite but seem as confused by the policies as the guests, offering shrugs instead of solutions. For a hotel that charges like it's something special, the Hilton Garden Inn delivers a frustratingly average stay with a side of pointless fees. Save your money and your sanity--there are better options out there. For example, just 4 miles away is the Hampton Inn. Better rooms, better gym, better pool, free breakfast, free parking, newer facility that isn't run down. Better than that, stay at the Residence Inn (813-792-8400) less than 50 feet away for substantially less, and you won't be assessed a bunch of useless fees.

The lobby was spacious and brightly lit, with a large sign about not parking in the adjacent bank parking lot or you would be towed. That kinda told me they don't have enough parking for the hotel- right? We got into our room later in the evening- we were visiting our grandson, so we spent the full day with the kids. I was happy to see the coffee maker in the room with a selection of coffee and tea- I normally don't make coffee in the room, but the lobby coffee machine they charge for a cup and it was out of order- so I went ahead and filled the machine, popped a k-cup in and hit start. It took a little longer to heat up than usual, and spit coffee grounds into my clean cup before it was even done heating- I quickly swapped for a clean cup and hoped for the best. It finished pouring and I went to grab the cup only for the machine to spew hot coffee grounds and water out the top of the machine onto my hand and sleeve. 2nd degree burns- I rinsed immediately and went down to the desk to ask them if they had burn cream in the first aid kit. Ten minutes of searching- I went back to the room empty handed. I told the other lady at the counter that they should remove the coffee machine from our room and gave the number, so no one else would get burned. They did find burn cream and called the room to let me know. That kept the blistering down and after 24 hours of applying religiously, the pain subsided. This tainted the stay of course- that and I am used to the amenities at Hampton Inn- breakfast included, coffee/tea/fresh fruit all available throughout the day and night. We are Hilton members and get water bottle when we check in and sometimes free snacks- all of these things are additional costs at this "business" geared hotel. I think I will never again attempt coffee from the in room machine for the rest of my life! lol. John teased that the room didn't like me- I also had an allergic reaction to the body wash! Ugh! Thankfully it was a quick stay & I showered at the kids house the second day. SMH- my luck.
