IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!…read more BUYER BEWARE -- I would NOT recommend buying crabs from Holly Beach Seafood Market. We ordered 15 dozen crabs and spent over $1,000, and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. Most of the crabs we received were small females and extremely light. When you're spending that kind of money, you expect to receive a quality product. What made the situation even worse was the customer service. I contacted the owner personally and expressed how unhappy we were with the crabs. Instead of trying to make things right, offering replacements, a partial refund, or even showing some concern, his response was basically, "Sorry, they're yours now." That is unacceptable customer service, especially after a customer has spent OVER $1,000 with your business. If you're selling seafood to the public, especially in quantities like this, why aren't you checking the quality of the crabs you're receiving from the fishermen before selling them to your customers? And when there is clearly a problem, WHY NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT YOU SELL? We weren't asking for anything unreasonable. We simply expected to receive what we paid for and for the business to make an effort to correct the situation when we brought it to their attention. Poor quality, poor customer service, and absolutely no effort to make things right.

This area was referred to as Chloe back then and the only mention of Manchester was the gravel road that ran passed this store. Long gone are the dust trails and the sounds of gravel flying as our first cars barreled down the backroads trying to get nowhere fast. The rice canal and herds of cows chewing their cud are long gone and the concrete drives cover the dirt road entrances to what once was just a pasture filled with livestock. You can get your fuel here, your smokes and a 40 oz or two if you'd like - along with a slice of Hunt's Pizza, a bbq sandwich, lottery tickets and just about anything else you can think of. The service was fine, the pay at the pump receipts were empty as well as the receipt dispenser inside so I guess it's a work in progress, but it's a store and it's convenient so it's all good as far as I'm concerned...

They were also very nice and sent us to the gas station down the road which had a wide variety of the basic stuff.

Understand there is an open container law in Louisiana so they place a piece of tape over the straw hole but it's cheap tape so it's easy to remove. If you don't feel like a frozen drink..... I guess that's a feeling some may get? You can just order up some Jell-O shots it's perfectly legal and easy to access while your texting and driving not that I recommend or am a proponent of either. The service is friendly and the alcohol is reasonably priced so before you start out on that road trip this is a good place to stop, seriously it's meant to be taken home so be responsible and don't remove the tape it's just as easy to remove the lid I hear ;-) I like the concept and I think it's has a purpose so don't get all wound up and freak out, its a choice so you can just say no but I'm thinking most say yes or this business and a dozen more like it wouldn't exist.

But yesterday, I ordered a 1/4 chicken and a pulled pork sandwitch. Meat was reasonably priced. But, I made the mistake of including pint of their "homemade coleslaw" to go with the meal without asking the price. Contents were chopped cabbage, with a little bit of something added - cost $14!!! For that much money, I could have bought more than 16 lbs of cabbage at WalMart! So, IF I return, I've learned to order only meat, that's expensive enough.
