John LH's review says it all - and includes a fine Player Haters Ball reference. From the outside, it looks like a pretty clean gas station/convenience store. (Especially considering that the gas station across the road has outside bathrooms, oh hell no). Step inside, though - it's surprisingly dark and at least 70% of the store is a bottle shop. No shame in that game. I was here to pee though and headed through the large, deserted store toward the ladies restrooms in the back corner. Not an employee in sight which was odd - I had the distinct feeling that I was going to be made into skin suit in short order. The ladies room has a "lounge" area filled with 100% stains covered sofas. They sell stripper clothes here. I am almost certain someone was shooting up in one of the bathroom stalls. If you need meth, a hooker or liquor definitely stop here. Or if you are a hooker looking to rest up, take a sink shower and/or refresh your wardrobe - they have what you need. read more

I always stop in on my way back to Texas as its right before the border. They have dirt cheap Tobacco and a really huge selection at that. Loads of drinks in the coolers, beer, liquor, snacks. Only the Tobacco here is a good value though. It's kind of dirty and grungy so I don't recommend it as bathroom stop and it's not good for the kids. Can you say this place has ANY & EVVVVEEERYTHING that you need. Located miles from the Louisiana - Texas border; being a "border town" has its perks!!! -There's a fully stocked liquor cabinet/area -Adult beverages galore -Clothing -Shoes -Souvenirs -Kids items ie tshirts -Knick Knacks I guess my amazement is the result of the full liquor cabinet/area. Looks like something you'd see at a packaged liquor store. Additional amazement at the plethora of other items that are here for your perusal. My eyes weren't large enough to take it all in. Majority of customers were not wearing a mask or didn't have it pulled up, employees didn't say anything to enforce this but neither employee at the cash register was wearing a mask at all. Only good thing is the family of cats wandering around the parking lot. They were very polite and respected social distancing. read more

I came in this store already confused (out of Towner) saw the Indian woman in a shell gas station shirt I proceeded to ask "is this a smoke shop?" She said No! It's a Shell, I asked her what is the name of the store she then proceeded to say "Smoker's paradise and shell" still with a salty attitude. I asked her why didn't you just say yes in the first place.. Overall I left and took my money else where Shell is the only gas I buy, but NOT from this location the Indian lady was so rude that on my way out a customer told me she's always like that, why not quit your job if you're gona be THAT miserable, I wasn't even in the store one minute but knew I couldn't give this business my $. What kind of store calls themselves Smoker's Paradise but doesn't carry Marlboro 100's? I only smoke when I am at the casino and I purposely waited the entire drive from Austin, TX to stop here so I wouldn't be tempted to light up before I arrived at the casino, only to be told they do not carry my favorite brand. And it's not like it's an obscure brand. You can find them at, and I hate using this word but, *literally* any other convenience store. The store is cluttered and the walkways are narrow. I had to dodge the same inconsiderate employee 3 times as I looked for a certain Monster energy drink (absolute zero, a very common and widely available drink) which they did not carry either. Bathrooms were covered in piss and the areas of the floor that weren't wet were sticky. I went next door and found the cigarettes and energy drink I was looking for. Looks can be very deceiving. Though I do not smoke, I initially considered this a nicer pit stop to take a leak and get a snack than the salooney stop across the street. The snacks are way overpriced and in a poorly lit area. Seemed quite spooky. The men's restrooms were poorly lit, marked and poorly stocked: 6 urinals with no fences, 3 tiolets that reeked of excrement with no ventilation. 4 pretty bowl sinks but ONLY 1 DRYER NOT FUNCTIONING!!! No paper towels! No class!! Avoid this place! But if you smoke by all means enjoy the stench. read more
