I found this little…read moreplace while trying to find a place with decent coffee and freewifi in Bromley, I had actually given up,but then I spotted this little place. The owners are very helpful and kind and the food is very nice and fresh, and you have free wifi and decent coffee (they will understand what you are saying if you ask for a cortado) If you are tired of the big coffee chains where the employees have hardly made a cappuccino in their life this would be a great place to try in Bromley.

You can choose between different breakfasts and ask for changes if you prefer. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They also serve sandwiches. The food is very good and the portion of toast they serve is perfect. Definitely one of the best breakfast in the area, and at a very good price!

Out of all of them, Caffe Nero is definitely my favourite. They have the most seating, the widest variety of food and the best tasting coffee out of any of them. It helps that there is a small mezzanine upstairs in this one providing just that bit of extra seating away from the heaving masses, and it's especially nice now that there is no smoking allowed in there as well. Caffe Nero was one of the last places that still allowed smoking until the complete ban and I remember the funky cloud of smoke upstairs that I used to walk into if I was desperate enough to find a seat. Now it's just very pleasant to sit up there watching the shoppers outside go by accompanied by a cappuccino and toasted panini.

Highly recommend the Serrano, grilled chicken and sun dried tomatoes, with a sweet chill dip. Its gets very busy in there and seating can be hard to find, but its well worth the wait, the staff are attentive and helpful, and will serve you a glass of naturally flavoured water (currently cucumber) upon arrival which sounds weird but is actually really tasty and refreshing. Located at the top of Beckenham close to the station, this place is perfect stop for lunch before embarking on a trek around Beckenham place park to burn off that slice of chocolate orange cake.

We appreciate Zola's initiative as fellow gelato lovers, because Unico really spares no expense to bring the best Gelato from Italy to Bromley's doorstep (those local to Bromley - be appreciative as others like me travel far to get a taste of the wondrous gelato). The actual store is owned and run by the very sharp and considered Elena Manfroni. As for the gelato itself my favourites are the Pistachio and Bacio - both also contain pistachio and hazelnuts (something very uncommon of other gelateria's as its quite a high cost!) The coffee flavour is good, and I also had a flat white which was delicious. Apparently the coffee itself is sourced from a store in Bologna. Everything here is prepared fresh daily and it really is a must stop for anyone visiting Bromley. Superb!

I have to admit that I groaned when I saw that yet another branch of this ubiquitous chain was opening, especially as the other two in the are were already in walking distance of each other! That said, I have to admit that, mainly out of convenience from being in the Glades already, I have patronised this Starbucks on a few occasions and to tell the truth, I like it! It's quite a big one with a good amount of seating and service is always fast and friendly. What with xmas fast approaching and shopping ensuing (no, I haven't started yet) I'm sure I'll be glad to sink into one of their comfy chairs (if I can be lucky enough to nab one) with a gingerbread latte to sip while I rest my weary worn out shopping feet.

What a genius idea it was to name this flower shop after the classic 70s broken-hearted ballad! I doubt there is any better way to guilt people in to a shop than letting the words of Neil Diamond float around their heads for a while. If you don't bring your loved one flowers then 1) shame on you and 2) maybe you should visit this shop. It's not just flowers in here but a whole range of gifts and cakes. There is a small cafe at the back of the shop too where you can reward yourself after buying your loved one a nice present. Tea is served in beautiful china pots and their cakes are delicious. The flowers themselves are range from the very exotic to the more well known varieties and are all wrapped beautifully. Maybe it would be worth suggesting to my boyfriend that we move to Lewisham for him to get the hint and buy me something from here!

Thank heavens for You Don't Bring Me Flowers…read more It's true that no one brings me flowers but frankly I wouldn't want anyone to deprive me of the privilege, when a visit to this little florist come coffee shop come pretty-things emporium is such an incredible delight. Prettily miniature in size, 'Flowers consists of a little window for sitting and gossiping, a marvellous display of beautiful blooms, a counter laden with cakey goodness, some divine little tables towards the back and an upstairs room, complete with tiny terrace. Every single little corner is a dream and a masterpiece no more can be described, a visit is due. Sample the best-in-a-very-very-large-radius coffee, nibble the cakes, grab a croissant if you're an early bird, have a sandwich, sip some soup heck stay there all day if you have to, I am yet to find something I don't like about this place. Sigh.
