Many of the tables there had a power port for charging devices and/or working. There is no table service. You order at the counter (take note of the number on your table) and they bring the food out to you. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. Everything was very fresh with high-quality ingredients. The full menu is served all day, so you can get breakfast dishes in the afternoon if you like. I particularly like that when you order a pot of tea, you actually get a little pot of tea and not just a big mug. They had a number of unique menu items that we didn't see in other restaurants. Muxima is a friendly, welcoming little cafe, with a mix of cozy, rustic seating and a few shared tables. The menu had quite a few options, an all day brunch menu coupled with a range of salads and sandwiches. I chose the eggs benedict, and my friend the ham bagel. Holy delicious!! My plate was a feast for the eyes the second t was placed in front of me, and my eggs perfectly poached, and covered in a rich flavourful hollandaise sauce. The drizzle of balsamic was a bit unusual, but matched the garlicky taste of the spinach well. We also enjoyed our coffees and a homemade croissant to start- perfect with some homemade tasting jam! Staff were friendly and prices really great for the portion and quality! As this is a short stroll from home, I former many more visits!

This quiet cafe is always half empty though, as few know its location on a little side street. They serve the usual range of coffees, teas and sandwiches at more reasonable rates than others in the area, and in a more relaxed environment. There are some really good baked breads, pastries, tarts and brownies to be had here, and some seriously large croissants. Its a good place to get a takeaway breakfast latte. I like this cafe for its quiet atmosphere, and often come here to get a bit of work done. Its the perfect 'away from home' office, allowing you to concentrate, but still central enough that you can go for a short browse through the shops or meet a friend after you're done.

Apart from home-made soup, there's also the usual deli things to buy like cheese, posh crisps and snacks. One of the great things about visiting small places like this is that you get proper personal service, too. After our initial drinks order, no one ever even once came back during the meal to find out if we'd like another one. And they messed up my order and brought me the wrong food. Also, I wish that the menu had made clear that the "bread basket" was going to consist of two half-slices of bread and a whole lorry-load of some sort of cracker. The crackers made the olive-oil and balsamic vinegar they brought completely pointless. I wonder, do they survive off of the random tourist that stumbles in? Or do they really have a dedicated following? All I know is that I don't like mediocre food or bad service and I'm not willing to pay to sit in nice lighting.
