That was a real shame because I certainly wanted to grab some breakfast, but it looked like that I might have been forgotten in the rush that the staff were in. As such, I ended up going elsewhere.

Website says there are two sittings and we booked for the second one, only to have to wait over 30 minutes outside when we arrived on time. Every 5 minutes they told us it would be another 2 minutes... It was only because we continually popped our heads in to ask for an update that they begrudgingly prompted a table from the first sitting to finish up. I don't blame the other diners - its likely they were not made aware of the two sittings rule - but don't advertise such a thing if you're not going to stick to it. No apology was made when we were eventually led to our table. Staff generally seemed to spend most of their time sitting down chatting with the family and friends who seemed to make up half the patrons. Great fun for them I'm sure, but the lack of interest in other patrons is obvious. Back to positives - and they have both a wine list with decently priced nice drops (quite a few good $35 bottles) and an unadvertised $10 corkage fee if you want to bring your own.

I am glad that this cafe is not located in a busy street because it gets busy enough as it is!…read moreThis cafe is a favourite lunch spot for us, they simply do great tasting food. Almost everything on their menu is a winner, and with daily specials you really get more than what you would otherwise expect from a cafe in a small strip like this. You really do develop an appreciation for the chef who without fail delivers all meals cooked to perfection and comes up with innovative dishes. Service is young and friendly, lovely girls on the coffee machine. I popped in recently and saw their new updated menu, I am itching to find time for my next lunch here. Love it.

D'elephant is absolutely D'cent!…read more Menu wise, there's a plethora of Thai comfort food variety that you can find here, from small bites to heavier dishes such as rice plates, bowl of curries and grilled entrees. To be honest, thought some of their food are hits and some are misses. My personal favorite are their Red Duck Curry and Pad Khana (stir fried Chinese broccoli with roasted pork bellies) - Flavorful and aromatic, the beef Pad Satay, on the other hand was more in the mediocre category. We ended our meal with a cup of Thai ice tea and a scoop of mango ice cream, which were sweet and delightful. Bustling, down to earth ambiance, fast & friendly service, a nice meal option at the ever busy Chaddy mall.

The best was probably the soft shell crab. Tastes more Chinese than thai. The roast pork at $24 was ridiculous. I can do better following "Christine's Recipes"!! Got conned to get it. It is the same as if I had too much left over .. left in fridge taken out the next day and air fried again on high!! Only thing can't do was prob the thai sauce but think I can source them somewhere. the coconut soup was ..... well it does say what it is. So reeeeeally ask yourself do you want to drink cream coconut before ordering.. I did... but failed miserably to listen to my head and regretted it paying more than $10 for a can I know I can get for less than $5 and throwing some frozen 10cent piece prawns in and BAAAAAM give it a thai sounding name and there u have it!! The value add is naming the dish using thai! Gets the farangs like me all time! :))) Like everything YMMV give it a go yourself... I gave it 2 stars because it did fill our stomachs. WIR.. not anytime soon.. will go back to my fav thai in the local SE burbs

5 out of 5. This place totally deserves it…read more We had come in for lunch after looking on yelp for some Thai and we were not disappointed. After walking into a nicely furnished and modern looking restaurants we had a look at the menu and settled on chicken panang curry, beef flat noodle stir fry with a side of rice and roti. Once the coke out we realised we had not been skimped on the portion department they were HUGE! The panang curry is probably one of the best that I have tried and the noodles were the perfect ratio of noodle to sauce that they weren't to dry, nor drenched in sauce. One suggestion I do make if your going to order an curry, order two sides of rice since there is that much rice! Wish this place was in Sydney! It would be my favourite!

The decor here is very retro with concrete floors, mismatched chairs and tables and rustic corrugated iron forming the front of the counter. While it looks quite rustic and old it is very clean and well kept. There is a pretty garden out the back with a few more tables and chairs. The food here is awesome and everything is well priced for what you get. The service varies here but it is pretty standard - nothing to rave about but I have no complaints at the same time. My favourite part about the place are the iconic fire-truck-red red doors that are the entry point to the cafe. They are in original condition, complete with chipped paint and scratches. I love that. This is a great place to grab a coffee or lunch. Not so good for dinner though as they generally close around 5. They also hire out the cafe for private functions. Give them a call for details on this.

It's in a good location with plenty of street parking and while there's not a lot of curb appeal, it sounded good, so thought we'd give it a go. The interior is a little odd; quite a mish mosh of decor. But it smelled good inside, so we were eager to see what the food was like. They took our order promptly, and were accommodating with requests. The food came out in good time, which was more impressive since they were doing a few take out orders. The entrees were nice. Generic chicken spring rolls and chicken curry puffs. They were really nice and would probably order again. For my main, I had the chicken fried rice and though it was really nothing to look at (presentation left much to be desired) the food was very good. The kitchen honoured our requests for changes to the dishes, and the mains also came out in reasonable timing. From a pricing point of view, I think it was very reasonable. Mains were in the mid teens, and on a par with other small Thai restaurants. Overall ... would I come back again? If I was in the area, I'd definitely come back again. There wasn't anything really bad about it here at all. Considering it's almost a 30 minute drive from home to it, I'd be more inclined to try elsewhere first. But if you find yourself in Sandringham and want a good Thai meal, give this a try for sure.
