The first thing that impressed me about the owner, whose name is Shaquiyyah Jenkins, was that she…read moreactually answers her phone. Believe it or not, most of these guys in real estate don't want to answer their phone. They want you to text them, email, voicemail or pm. I found that hard to believe because every time that phone rings it's a potential client, but I digress. That was my initial contact with Domain and I was duly impressed. Also, Shaquiyyah is very knowledgeable. My home purchase was very rocky and had lots of twists and turns and she always had a solution. They have a great work ethic and a really nice office in Wynnefield. I had to mention that because when you walk in there, you feel like a VIP, as well you should. When you're spending that kind of bread on a house, the nice office lay out helps a lot. I should also mention that she is very professional and positive, I love her energy. There's a lot of uncertainty to buying a house and she has the know how to seal the deal and make things happen. Buying a house for me was a costly, stressful experience but Domain helped guide me through it. JW

Being new to the area, I found myself extremely overwhelmed with the idea of purchasing my first home, but those feelings of angst were quelled within moments of speaking with Shaquiyyah. I was impressed with her immense industry knowledge and the amount of data that she had regarding the housing market. After viewing a few prospects, an offer was made on a property...Shaqiayyah's expertise, negotiation skills and resourcefulness guided me towards purchasing my dream home with little cost out of pocket; I could not have imagined a better outcome! The entire home buying process was purchaser focused, engaging and transparent. If you are seeking a realty company that knows the market and provides personalized service, I highly recommend Domain Real Estate Group as your choice!

As was the case when I was on the market as a buyer, Rachel is easy to work with and very knowledgeable about the market and the neighborhood. I really appreciated that she was transparent about the how/why of her pricing recommendations and listing strategy (taking the time to talk through every detail if that's what I needed) and I trusted her completely. A few other 'perks' that I didn't realize to look for in a realtor but were invaluable in my house selling experience: - Rachel has been doing this a long time, and has incredible insight on what types of updates to consider/prioritize that will increase the value and interest in the house (which was very helpful for me because my house needed some major refreshing, but with a very tight budget) - she has a list of recommended trades persons for any work you need to hire for (and will even recommend different shades of white paint for that fresh coat that you may want to apply before listing!) - she is SO responsive! No waiting around for a reply when you have a question/concern/need... she gets back so quickly and manages to thoroughly address the question/concern/need in the simplest way. - she is approachable and easy to work with, and also really savvy and strategic on getting the best possible outcome for her client I loved working with Rachel, and highly recommend her and the Philly Home Girls team for your real estate needs! An all-around positive (and successful!! she got my house sold so quickly, and over asking!) experience!

They never get back to you and ignore phone calls. I would not recommend this agency for a rental or property management. I also found a contract in the cabinet from the last people that rented here and they had the same issues apparently. Real shame.

Just in case anyone was not turned off by the other, older reviews, I am providing a brand new…read moreterrible review. Avoid Kershaw at all costs! NOTE: They are not Kershaw Esposito anymore, Esposito left. My friend and I used them to manage our Manayunk property for almost four years. The first year and a half was great - more due to the fact that they lucked into a set of great tenants and during that period, nothing went wrong with the house. After that, things started to go wrong. Our second set of renters had the police called on them multiple times, causing problems with neighbors and worse. Apparently these incidents were brought to Kershaw 's company - who didn't inform us until the police started calling us as the owners of record. Not good. And it only gets worse. After ending the relationship with these tenants, Kershaw's agent started showing the place. It wasn't until I returned to Philadelphia that I learned they were SHOWING THE PROPERTY WITH THE POWER CUT OFF, FISTHOLES IN THE WALL AND FILTH COVERING THE FLOORS. The agent didn't bother to inform us of any of us and the place sat empty until I visited it by chance. Kershaw himself assigned us a different agent. Who helped us clean the place and get it show-able again. A few months rent lost - but we eventually found renters, but this new agent was standoffish with us every time we asked for an update, pictures or other details about the property. Eventually this relationship became too strained and Mike Kershaw took over the management himself. Things were great for the first month - he helped us get new carpets installed and, supposedly get the place presentable. But three months later there was little activity and we finally switched to a new company. The new managers informed us that the place was still filthy (Kershaw's cleaners didn't do a good job), the bathroom door was missing a doorknob, several lightbulbs were out, the stairs to the basement were rickety and some slats were broken and a whole host of other problems. In fact, Kershaw had informed us that they had removed some old furniture left in the place, but it was all still there. It took the new manager over a week to track down Kershaw and get the keys for the place. If my co-owner and I still lived in the Philadelphia area, we'd be taking them to court for their gross mismanagement and breaches of contract. But alas, suing them would be too inconvenient for us and they will slide by with nothing but a negative Yelp review.

DO NOT RENT FROM SLATE…read more I lived there for one year and had a horrible experience. It started bad right from the start. They were impossible to reach and when you did reach anyone they would not have the answers and said they would need to get back to you but never did. Throughout my stay, my roommates and I had multiple issues. Some were fixed with but the big / costly ones were ignored. I warned Slate that I saw a leak starting on my bedroom ceiling in October. It was ignored until I called and called about it. The little leak blew up into a full blown issue. Slate never appropriately addressed the issue and kept trying to do cheap fixes instead of solving the issue. I had a leak & hole in my ceiling from October-January. There were periods where they were ignoring my calls and emails. I ended up getting a rent credit because I fought so hard and had put rent in escrow. Also the issue was never truly fixed as the girl in the apartment below me started having leaking due to the quick fix they did for mine. George is a smooth talker but do not let that fool you. He is like a politician. He may genuinely be a nice guy (although I don't think he is) but he definitely is a HORRIBLE landlord and business owner. He did not even have a valid rental license for my apartment when he rented to me. The city of Philadelphia contacted me and issued him warnings and fines. And no we did not get the security deposit back. They actually said we owed them money that they would not be pursuing. Ha! Save yourself the time, stress, and money and stay as far away from Slate as you can.

UPDATE: A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH THE BBB 6/30/21…read more I would give zero Stars if I could. SLATE negligence could have killed my son and his roommates - not being hyperbolic - gas was leaking into the house. I am cosigner of lease - 224 Wendover. Feb 2020, gas bill was $17 each; March was $130 EACH. Didn't pay b/c obviously something was wrong. Slate did not even notice the jump in the bill; My son and his roommate were waking up with headaches. Slate did nothing. My Roommate called PGW - Slate did not. PGW came and inspected all pipes and connections. PIPE ENTERING HOUSE WAS RUSTED; GAS WAS LEAKING INTO THE HOUSE. Told Slate I was not paying the outrageous gas bill due to their negligence. THEY HAVE BEEN PILING ON LATE FEES SINCE FEB OF 2020. I have lost count of how many times I've called; they DO NOT CARE ENOUGH TO RETURN THE CALLS. I wonder if this will make a difference. I am sorry for the owner of the unit, this is not his fault; Slate has been negligent and every time I think I might pay the bill, I recall how SLATE ALMOST KILLED MY SON.
