This was actually my first time here, even though I've been in this alley so many times lol. I had a Juicy Jay with a few friends. The service was super quick. This is your go to place for your international sports like soccer and rugby as they are often screening matches from over seas. As the name suggests it is extremely popular with football fans however unlike real hooligans the people and staff are quite friendly. I myself am not a huge fan of the game but I certainly appreciate their dedication to providing an authentic environment for those who enjoy it. Hooligans is also one of my favorite places to pop in after work with some coworkers for a cold pint. I can also attest that during high profile games like the European finals, the entire Brevard Courtyard fills in for a festive atmosphere dedicated to the excitement of the competition. It's nothing fancy, just a charming hole in the wall to enjoy good drink and good company.

The bar is divey, and you can find very cheap drinks, especially if you go for the daily specials. The bartenders are nice - beware that they do keep your card if you keep your tab open - and seem to know the regulars. In addition to monthly bingo, they seem to host drag events, have video games and board games available to play, as well as several TVs. Plus, dogs can go inside and out. The bar does not serve food, though usually there is a vendor there. Looking forward to next month!

There is no food but they have cheap drinks, old school games, a spacious patio, and they host cool events like bingo night. Their motto is "Mind your P's and Q's" which I found amusing. I have only been in a few times so I can comment on if their patrons typically adhere to this code of conduct! Overall I think it is worth checking out if you've never been and maybe it will grab you and you will want to become a regular. Me personally it's a little out of the way to become a regular haunt located in between Plaza and NoDa but not walking distance from either. Also it's not that the service was ever unfriendly but I just didn't feel like it was my vibe. Still a cool bar though and I can see why other enjoy it.

The beer list is legitimately impressive; easily one of the most extensive and well curated selections I've seen in a while. Whether you're a crisp-Pilsner purest or hunting for something obscure, they've got you covered. Food wise, solid overall. The Brussels sprouts were on point unfortunately the chicharrones fell flat as they were drowned in hot sauce which made them soggy almost immediately. Tip - Try them with the sauce on the side. Spot was quiet on a Wednesday night and the vibe was laid back and unpretentious. This made for efficient service. Not sure how a busier night would unfold. Give this spot a visit simply for the late night beers, bites, and chill vibes.

We came in at a time when it wasn't really busy, but it took forever for our server to come around. Ordered two glasses of red and the cheese plate only to be told after we received the wine that there was no charcuterie -- at all. Not a "need to substitute" or "we're missing one of the items" just completely 86ed. Despite being prominently featured at the top of the menu! Since we already had our wine, we had to order something else. I went with the cheese sticks, and my mom ordered a hamburger based on what the table next to us had. When she got her burger though, despite us ordering the same as the table next to us, it was a completely different burger. She ate it anyway and my cheese sticks were okay for pub food. But overall, a really disappointing experience based on what we expected. And we had to hunt down the server to pay so we could get back to the conference on time.

The German biers are some of the best I've tried. Both the Cooper altbier and Hornets Nest were excellent while their porter was a little too heavy for me. There's a full bar for the non beer drinkers . OMB features a huge selection of food items including German classics like pork schnitzel, wursts and the Bavarian or classic Jumbo pretzels. I'd recommend the sampler plate with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst as one choice ( you get three) and Jumbo Pretzel with Cooper Bier cheese & Düsseldorf mustard. The sides, such as their German potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut are very good. In addition theres a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads to choose from. The outside venue is amazing with ample outside seating featuring a fire pit, corn hole ( collect bags at the bar), children's playground and a water station for pets. Overall a great place to grab a beer and enjoy some authentic German style food at reasonable pricing. In addition OMB features private rooms for special events. One note parking could be problematic when it gets busy on weekends or special occasions but if you're willing to walk you'll find parking somewhere .

Luckily they didn't go too far, and ended up in the charming Elizabeth neighborhood. They are an English themed pub known as a hangout for sports fans. While they have the staples you expect like fish and chips and bangers and mash, they also include your typical gameday snacks like wings, burgers, nachos, and a pretty dang good Buffalo chicken dip. They have a variety of beers both domestics and imports, and of course it wouldn't be Big Ben without the large amount of English decorations with just the right amount of tackiness.
