Fish and chips are delicious. My recommendation is make reservations. Sitting is limited on Friday nights.

I Personally feel that this establishment is very underrated and completely under pressure. Knowing the world's current position I feel that this establishment is doing great the food and portions are great and the workers there are very friendly. Would 100% recommend to eat here read more

I don't know why this place has such low ratings, it's fantastic! The service was so friendly and kind, the fish and chips were some of the best I've ever had, as were the mushy peas. It's out in the middle of nowhere but I would definitely go out of my way to return. read more

Papa's has re-opened and has received a massive face lift, the new Papa's looks fresh and modern and looks more inviting to have a sit in meal, where the old one looked old and not that inviting, and as always the fish and chips hasto be one of the best in Maidstone and has been for many years, even before the facelift, so take note, Papa's is back! read more

When it opened many years back it heralded a new level of service for good food locally. A spacious smart restaurant and a good choice of dishes on the menu. In a prime location it has a great amount of passing trade. Sadly, this is no longer the case. Somewhat indifferent service and, bearing in mind the above average prices, portion sizes are not very generous. e.g. One gherkin with your take-away will cost you £1.00! The staff at the take-away counter look fed up and take no interest in giving good service and I suspect that poor training is the reason. I used to be a regular now I'll only use Papas if everywhere else is closed. Pity. read more

.Having visited this restaurant many times, today was no different until I sat down. I had taken up an offer on the groupon site, we thought excellent lets have a blow-out breakfast on our last day of our holiday. we were greeted fine to our table then i said we had a voucher and immediately asked if we had booked unfortunately we hadn't well this was like a criminal offence and told it was in the voucher details that you had to book 24 hours in advance, i offered to leave but was told she would honour it this time. Obviously there wasn't enough space for on the spot arrivals.( there was only 2 other couples in the restaurant. just on one side of the dining area was 11 empty tables) as you may of guessed this had upset me greatly. the restaurant has a lovely layout and glass windows so you can view the cooking and preparation area just a quick tip maybe dont have a chat about the customer in there view.( i happen to guess they were talking about us as they looked at our table) The waitress obviously thought i was the one in the wrong( i was the paying customer). Our Breakfast was delivered by the chef, he then smiled with a grin to the waitress as in to gesture that i have saved you from serving them again. The breakfast and other food at Papas is outstanding but i have to say today's experience has left me with a bitter taste and will never recommend or visit here again out of choice. I can understand that maybe there has been loads of groupon customers just turn up without booking and it can get annoying but seriously it was a Tuesday morning and a very empty restaurant. I hope that the waitress feels better within herself that she made her point. read more
