My first ever Chicago Deep Dish pizza. Incredible experience. Super nice staff. Very clean establishment. Wonderful pizza. I'm from Philadelphia and this is night and day different from an east coast deep dish pizza. I'll be back for sure. I put the oregano on before taking the picture. read more

Very little sausage on this pizza after the woman on the phone who wasn't that nice was told that we wanted more sausage than the last time. The pieces of sausage are tiny as well. We will find another pizza place to order from. There are many pizza places. The quality has gone down hill over the last year & the prices have increased. read more

The best pizza in the area. The Italian beef sandwich is amazing and my favorite on their menu, always eventful for me when I order it. My go tos are monster cheese slices which never disappointed. The owner is the man, always polite and remembered me after my first time there even if I haven't been there in a while. Thank you! read more

Lots of problems with ordering from here. The order is never ready at the pickup time given (always at least 40 minutes even if they tell you 20), and the fries I order with the monster slice are forgotten most times and I have to go back. Also their web site is not formatted for online ordering on iPads. The deals cannot be applied when I tried the two medium pizza deal today. read more

Have been ordering pizza from here for a long time. It has always been great! Stopped by on our way back from the 4th of July fireworks because the kids were hungry and we ordered a few slices of pizza. They weren't kidding about being the home of the monster slice!! The slices came in a small pizza box! They were bigger than our kids faces! They had a blast trying to scarf them down! The restaurant is under new management and Miguel was so nice and helpful! We were going to walk back and eat but decided to sit down at the tables in the front. Miguel and his staff were so nice, they came and gave us napkins and took the empty pizza boxes to throw away for us! Highly recommend Papa Rays! Delicious pizza with fresh ! Can't wait to go back and order something new to try! read more

Papa Ray's Pizza & Wings - Pizza Near Me - Carol Stream, Illinois

just finished eating our take out pizza from Papa Rays in Carol Stream IL (new ownership for several months now). We love their Traditional Crust, which is in-betweenn Thin Crust and Pan Pizza, there is a lip around the edge so they put the cheese and all the ingredients all the way out, unlike other pizzerias that leave an entire inch (or more) around the edge with nothing on it. All the toppings are evenly distributed throughout the pizza. This pizza was Cheese, Sausage & Onion, and it was delicious as it was, but at home we added sliced tomatoes and green pepper from our garden. the pizza was ready in about 20 minutes, right on time. Papa Ray's is now our favorite place. And if you happen to like wings, theirs are delicious too and make a nice add on to a pizza order. Give them a try. (Sorry no photo, we were too hungry) read more

The owner is always so helpful and nice. So helpful that he made a homemade veggie patty burger for me. When I tell you it's the BEST veggie burger I've ever had!! Wow!!! It's on the secret menu so make sure you ask about it. Sooooo good. I'm going back for another read more

Miguel is a very nice owner and takes care of me well! Listens to detailed orders and makes sure all the food is at a 5 star standard. General service is above par. I appreciate and recognize the genuine effort going into the business from new management. Outside of inflation Papa rays is starting to turn back to what it used to be thanks to Miguel read more

Their wings are delicious! You have to try their Italian beef sandwiches! It's like Portillo's minus the mess. That and their service is AMAZING! Every time I walk through the door I don't feel like I'm just grabbing food to go, I end up hanging out for a bit talking and laughing with everyone who works there! Not to mention they make a bruschetta pizza that's out of this world! You need to try it!!! read more

Overall Experience: 8/10 Online Ordering: 10/10 Prices for Food: 7.5/10 Pizza: 6/10 Wings: 7.9/10 Added Notes: - the location is a little hidden, not the easiest to find but not too difficult - No Dine in - Mask Required for Pickup - When I called to verify order, the person who answered the phone was alright. Very casual. - Employee who processed the payment was VERY NICE - They offered crush red pepper and parm without me having to ask (that's very nice and rare) PIZZA REVIEW: The pizza was decent. Not amazing but for the toppings we got; it was a very decent price. The pineapple and ham was a little weird tasting. The mushrooms and black olives were good. The pizza was SLIGHTLY under baked. A few more minutes and the pizza would have been great. We requested it to be cut in squares and it was done correctly and well. WINGS REVIEW: We got a 10pc for $11 and it came with one sauce. The ranch was good but it wasn't enough for 10 wings. The drumsticks are a little over baked but the flats were very well baked. The spicy garlic sauce on the wings was not spicy. But the flavor was good. The meat of the chicken was good too. read more

Their grub hub drivers and every other app they pay for, all the drivers are terrible I ordered, they rang my bell... Never came up, - so I walked down the stairs to meet them, not there They walked up the other stairs and left my food on the floor. Nobody wants to eat food off the floor. read more

Ordered ahead here. Got there, paid, and then was told "we accidentally gave your order to someone else." Since I wasn't able to wait there while the order was remade, I was told they'd deliver, for free, in ten minutes. When the order was finally delivered, WELL OVER AN HOUR LATER, the drinks that were part of a combo order were missing. That, and the delivery driver wouldn't get out of the vehicle to complete the delivery, we had to go outside to get it. We'd be stupid to order from there again unless they offer a refund or reorder for free. read more

This business has been in my bookmarks for awhile and to be honest I'm not sure why I went since I'm on a veggie kick but I decided to try them out anyway. The young man who took my order and cashed me out was very welcoming and polite! I ordered their salad, adding on artichoke hearts, spinach, feta, also adding olives w/balsamic dressing. It might have been the worst salad I've ever tasted. The spinach tasted dirty, the olives tasted bad alone but the cheese broke down easily which helped since they are large pieces (I was aware they came like this). I paid $9 for this and I definitely feel like it wasn't worth it. If I do go back to eating meat, I might try their wings but I don't plan on visiting again. read more

Solid 3. Ordered here tonight for Super Bowl Sunday 2/7/21 KC vs. Tampa Bay. We ordered around 4:30 for pick up. Got there around 5:15. (Was told food would be ready by 5.) food wasn't done until 5:45. Not terrible for Super Bowl Sunday but still a long wait. Food order was correct and we ordered for a group of 5 adults so we had ordered 50 wings and 2 pizzas. Pizzas were good but so small for medium! We had no leftovers! Chicken wings had enough sauce and were crispy. The gave us ranch and blue cheese. It only 2 of each sauce ... for 50 wings! Seems kind of Stingy to me! Service was OK. So since food was good and hot ... solid 3. The wait time, portion sizes and service makes it a 3. read more

Under new management, thank God. Nice owner and the food is great. The slice of pizza is bigger than half a pizza.

Very friendly, great little spot to pick up a pizza. It's pretty good pizza. The taste of their crust is sorta similar to pizza hut? Although just beware, when you ask for thin crust, it's their "traditional" which is kind of thick, it's just cut chicago style into squares. read more

Scumbags that rip you off with garbage pizza, changed my total after I paid and charged my card extra

The monster slice was huge. Definitely a decent price for that big of a slice. Pizza was pretty good. I ordered Asiago cheese with my sausage but it was weird. It was like hard cheese on top. Not melted together with the regular cheese. Fries were not that. Mediocre place at best. Probably great drunk food read more

Gave this place a try and would not recommend. The slice was massive and was a good deal but still not worth the money, had a very odd flavor to it, not sure what kind of cheese and sauce they're using but didn't taste like any kind of pizza I enjoy. Service was fine. read more

Papa Ray's Pizza & Wings - A BUG IN MY PIZZA - Pizza Near Me - Carol Stream, Illinois

On a frosty Monday afternoon at my office, it was so cold that de-icer spray used to get ice off my windshield froze upon application. It was so cold many people at my place of work were unable to come in due to car problems or having been inadvertently frozen like the main character in that Pauly Shore movie called Encino Man. Rather than wait for everyone to defrost or even attempt to go somewhere for lunch, the few of us brave souls who managed to be productive enough to come in opted to order out for Pizza to be delivered. Our first choice was not open, so we had a menu for a new place called Papa Ray's and decided to give it a try. Now I'm quite familiar with places with the name of Ray's pizza. Be it "Original Ray's Pizza", "Famous Ray's Pizza", or even "Not so famous unoriginal Ray's Pizza" places with names including the words "Ray's Pizza" are extremely popular in another part of the country. So my expectation of this place was that it would be like New York style pizza from one of the many "Rays" without all the rudeness, pompousness and giant rodents everywhere. We placed our order and it arrived in a fair amount of time, in fact quite quick considering the awful weather conditions. We ordered 3 pizzas, a vege only pizza for people with bad taste and/or pork free dietary customs, a meat pizza with sausage and peperoni, and a sausage, green pepper and mushroom pizza. The style of pizza here is a hand tossed thicker style, more like New York style pizza than most Chicagoland Pizzerias, but at the same time bearing a reasonable similarity to the pizza at Domino's or Pizza Hut. So how was the pizza you might ask? Well I tried one slice of the meat pizza and one slice of the sausage, mushroom and green pepper pizza. The good news here is the quality of the ingredients particularly the sausage was excellent. The bad is that the sauce was sparsely applied and watery. The dough wasn't bad, not particularly flavorful but held together well. The cheese was a little greasy and thin after cooking. Overall my thoughts on Papa Ray's is that it's different than a lot of other Chicago style pizza places. I wouldn't recommend it over your favorite place, but it's better than most of the big national chains and isn't specializing in deep dish, stuffed or super thin Chicago style varieties of pizza. I'll rate it as average and while I'm not in any rush to order again, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Dough, in here, in pizza here Ray, is Papa to his son. Me, I ate pizza myself Far, deliveries they run So, so worth trying so I said LA, is it fantastic no Tea, goes well with "za" and bread And that will bring us back to dough read more

I will never order from here again. It took over an hour and a half to get a slice of pizza and some fries to be delivered. Many other pizza places to order from. Very unhelpful staff completely rude read more

So I've tried their Italian Beef, their monster slices of pizza, their regular pizza, their wings, their mozzarella sticks.... Plain and simple, their food is great!. I'm an Italian Beef connoisseur, and their grinder is amazing! Please note, it is a grinder, not a typical Italian Beef, but it is the best grinder I've had! The beef is seasoned to perfection. The wings are soooo good! They're big and juicy and so flavorful! The monster slice is a quarter of a pizza and a great deal! The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the hand tossed pizza crust was very thin and fell apart. Maybe it was just a fluke. I'm willing to give them another try at their pizza. This has definitely become my go to place for game day snacks and quick dinners!! read more

Extremely rude young lady at the counter. Made no apologies for making us wait an additional 45 minutes at 2 in the morning. She couldn't care less. Well after promoting this business being open for Christmas eve and day they were not answering their phones on Christmas day to take phone orders. Crappy experience at Papa Ray's pizza tonight. People coming out of the kitchen without wearing masks. Cashier had no mask, made the pizza wrong, then never told my wife keeping her there for 15 minutes while they made another pizza. She gets home and the pizza (1 of 3) is still wrong, she calls to tell them, and they say that's what she ordered. Just admit you're wrong and offer to fix it. Unfortunately that didn't happen. They flat out refused to admit that they were wrong. Never again. I'm looking for recommendations... anyone? read more

Love getting lunch from this place. They do delivery and with in an hour, but worth it. We have orderd their famous rib tips, pizza, chicken wings and the beefy cheesy calzone. You guys knew this review was coming... I moved to CS about 6 mos ago and can see Papa Ray's from my apartment but have not visited until today. Just didn't feel like cooking so I thought I'd give 'em a try. Wish I could say it was a positive experience - but no. The guys behind the counter were friendly enough, and the prices are reasonable, but the cook put onions in my order when the receipt clearly specified "no onions." This after ordering in person, being told it would take 20 minutes (which honestly surprised me - I went home and came back instead of waiting). I get it home and cut into it and there are onions in my order... So I had to drive back a third time to return my food and get a refund and still had to find dinner elsewhere, an hour after my first visit. What a waste of time - I will not be back. read more

The actual should have been $90.00. Two people kept insisting and even hung up on us!!! Then offered to give a discount. A discount on &144.00 rip off price. Scam alert!!!!!!!
