My party of three and I visited Ena's Emporium recently only to be severely disappointed in the…read morecustomer service we received. Walking into the store, we were immediately assaulted with loud yelling and shrieking coming from the owner, Sheryl, who was on a telephone call in the back office. It was obvious tensions were high and, of course, that happens to the best of us, but she was superfluously loud and her shrieks followed us through the entire store. Shrill, rude, and unwelcoming were our first impressions of Ena's. While nearly nothing in the store was of our tastes - and only would be had our tastes included over-sized, gaudy furniture - we continued through to be polite, as it was clear to all of us from the moment we walked in the door, very little would appeal to us. Low and behold, after 10 minutes of exploring and moving deeper and deeper into the emporium more to escape the heightening squawks of the owner still on the telephone (y'all, I am NOT exaggerating. it was SO off-putting!), one of us found an item at least worth inquiring about. By this time, Sheryl was off the phone and met the member of our party, Linda, in the hallway as she was en route to ask about the price; the item had not been marked. When the owner responded, she quickly followed with a pushy, "So, do you want it?" Linda explained that she wanted to think about it and asked a follow-up question regarding the item as it seemed part of a set. Apparently, this was an incorrect assumption and Sheryl snatched the item from Linda's hand and very sarcastically replied, "No way!" She then made a disgusted sigh/laugh, turned on her heel and marched the item back to where it had been sitting. Taken aback, Linda turned to the man who had greeted us upon entering, and who was standing nearby, and said that she was very offended and didn't like how she had just been spoken to. Without apology, he responded that the owner was just in a bad mood from her prior telephone call, suggesting we should excuse her. So, not only was the owner incredibly rude, but the rest of her staff doesn't know enough to handle customers with care either. Having very tacky furnishings that only interest a small population of people is one thing, but also having deplorable customer service is another. What a winning combination! (Look! I can do sarcasm, too!) Seriously, don't waste your time being talked down to by stopping in.
