Some novelties but things will cost you 3x the normal supermarket price. I thought the American section was funny but reeled at things like spray cheese for £7 and chips ahoy (US equivalent of Maryland cookies) for £10. Even "normal" products have a significant markup. The bagels - which are the main reason I went- were fine but beigel bake on brick lane and Papo's in Dalston were far better. The staff are very snooty and as I was leaving without purchasing anything eyed me down as if I was stealing. I had never experienced it and I was shocked if I admit. Overall - if you need a niche product that's only sold here it's fine, but it's not a feasible "everyday" shopping store nor is it worth the prices. read more

TikTok described this market as the Erewhon of London so I had to check it out. While it's not as organic/natural, many of their items are pricey, and they do offer a lot of specialty items. I didn't buy anything but at some point I'll come back and try a bagel (after I try Papos ofc). I stumbled on this greengrocer by way of serendipity while just out walking after a visit to abbey road (so I was nearby). I'm from Texas and the interior of this place reminded me of a cross between central market/sprouts, Randall's/Safeway, and a REALLY nice and extensive farmer's market. The cashiers were really friendly and they had a surprising amount of workers present given the place isn't all that big (but there were people at a lot of different counters selling/serving various foods, or stocking. There were so many fun grocery items and pre made foods, honestly if we hadn't eaten lunch already I would've bought lunch here because there were so many delicious looking options. I was thirsty however, and this place is where I discovered my favorite "soda," which is the Belvior brand "sparkling Elderflower." It's a very sweet soda flavored just with elderflower. I absolutely LOVE it. When I came back to the USA I looked everywhere for it but no stores carry it! Interestingly though I have found almost all of the other Belvior products at World Market, including their brand's elderflower lemonade and elderflower mixer, but these are different from the sparkling elderflower drink. I'm hoping eventually they start to carry it, but Belvior is a British company so it has to be imported. read more

A great local delicatessen. This area is rife with Americans, Arabs and Jews and as such the food in Panzers caters for all of these cultures and beyond. This place looks small but it packs a hell of a lot in and has a great selection. It is divided into several sections: 1) outside and to the right hand side as you go in you will find the fresh fruit and veg. This stuff is pretty fresh and not your preserved supermarket fruit and veg so consume it asap otherwise your bins (rather than you) will dining on expensive perishables; 2)As you go in the section directly in front of you is your italian pasta section and biscuits - there is a nice selection for those connoisseurs; 3) There is a frozen food section which caters for those from Israel to China and beyond; 4) There is an alcohol and soft drinks section; 5) the delicatessen itself where you can pick an array of meats and cheese and indeed make sandwiches or paninis to take away; 6) lastly they have a cake section too....my favourite...yes they have banana bread!!!! It is pricey and you sometimes have to queue a little while. Avoid paying by credit card as it seems to add a few unnecessary minutes at the till which you can valuable use doing other things in your life. read more

I shopped here twice, with a (US) credit card that requires a signature. The cashiers always asked for a photo ID to verify my identity (even though most UK waiters/cashiers did not do this). I would give this place 1/2 a star if I could. But who knows, maybe the food is worth 5 stars. I stood at the counter for several minutes and watched more than one employee walk right past me without even acknowledging my presence. Granted, this place is in a posh neighborhood, I work in a warehouse and was a tad bit grubby, but is that anyway to treat a paying customer? I came all the way up here from Westminster bridge on a recommendation. My recommendation is that if you're not Posh or Dave Beckham, these folks don't want your money. Hmmmm, I have mixed feelings about Panzer's, but nevertheless, I'm still here once a week, and here's why... 1. Lots of American products. I'm Texan, and they sell imports from Texas. Texas chili. Texas salsa. Corn tortillas. Sure, it'll cost you an arm and a leg, but sometimes you need treats from home. 2. Delicious olives, lunch meat, and cheese 3. Really yummy bagels and breads However, do not buy produce here. It is way overpriced and will spoil very quickly. Just go down the street to tesco's. They literally have the exact same avocados, bell peppers, and salads for 1/3 of the price. Rule of thumb- don't get anything from Panzer's that you could buy from another store. It is so over priced, it's humorous. Just go for your imported, hard to find goods. read more

Panzer's Delicatessen is a local favourite in St. John's Wood. It stands out from the chain plagued high street and offers some great made to order sandwiches and paninis. They have a selection of meats and chesses from across the globe, with some great Italian bresaola and Spanish chorizo. You simply pick your bread from their selection and tell them what you want on it. The staff, specifically those behind the deli counter, can be a bit hard to deal with at times, which is this place's largest draw back. Besides that they have a great selection of food, including yellow squash which I have been unable to find in London anywhere else. They also stock Skippy Peanut Butter, Gusher's, A&W Root Beer and a host of other American imports. On a sunny day this is a great place to grab some lunch and then stroll down Cochrane Street to St John's Wood Church Gardens for a bit of alfresco enjoyment. Panzer's is even featured in Time Out's "1000 Things To Do In London" under a taste of New York in London, so why not give it a try if you are in the area. read more

As you pass panzier's delicatessen they have an impressive display of fresh fruits & vegetables on display, but be sure to check prices with a member of staff as some items are not labeled or priced. I was in earlier today and tried to buy two mangoes and at the check out the price that came up was £7.95, I told the server that I could buy a case for that, in Tesco. Even though this delicatessen may stock items that are imported from the states you could also buy the same in the local Tesco store just up the road for a fraction of the price. After I just moved to the area, I went to Panzer's to grab a toasted pannini on a saturday afternoon I then took it straight to St. John's Wood Church Gardens down the road. Panzer's seem to be a nice little shop with a good selection of food. The meat, fish and cheese counter looks good, and the pannini was made and toasted freshly. And it was delicious, too. Not the cheapest place for shopping, but a good shop to find quality food. What about some Lebanese falafel? - yep you guessed it Panzers is your stop. I come here when in the area and feel the urge to stock up on my J-goods as they are quite limited in my part of South London. This is a deli with lots of choice - fresh cheeses, vegetables, fresh, frozen and dry products but I fill my basket with New Green cumbers (amazing garlic pickled cucumber dream), kosher fish balls and smoke salmon. The baked goods are worthy too but if you leave it to the end of the day - especially Friday, all the good stuff has gone. No bagels. And definitely no challah. Oh and it seems you need to pre order your kosher meats too. Because all the chicken in the fridge have been labeled with reserved post its with other people's names on it. Staff are very helpful and will ice pack products if you need it for the long journey back South. read more

Delectable. Calling this a "delicatessen" may mislead. It's a food wonderland disguised as a corner grocery near the St. John's Wood tube station. The food is great and all of the fruit and vegetables are perfectly ripe and wonderfully flavourful. While it serves a wide clientele (of well-heeled foodies,) if you keep kosher, there is an outstanding array of wine, fresh baked goods, and prepared food. With an expanded array of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook dishes available on Thursday and Friday. Also carries the major brands of packaged food that you prefer. read more

I have to admit that the main reason I ever visit Panzers is for American products. There are some things that I get a craving for and simply can't wait for my next trip home to pick up. And some things that just seem completely alien to Brits that I need to illustrate by example. But aside from that, Panzers is a bit too pricey for most of my daily shopping. I can understand paying import prices for import products, but I have a hard time understand why a punnet of berries should cost that much. Panzer's would be the place to come if I was an ex-pat American in search of American food items. It is located close to St John's Wood and Lords Cricket Ground and is a useful stopping point if you are walking towards Primrose Hill. They have decent meat, fish and cheese counters with good quality produce. It is not the cheapest of stores so I would recommend coming here for odds and ends and doing your big shop elsewhere. read more

I used to cycle to get my mum groceries from here when I was kid and the place hasn't changed much. An old established deli, Panzers seems to be very much a part of the local community. It has a vast selection of food on offer from charcuterie, cheese and salads at the counter to premium biscuits and Kosher food. There is a good selection of fruit and vegetables outside the shop. This being St Johns Wood prices are high, but the quality is good. Panzers is one of the few places in town where you can get American food brands, such as Nabisco. I will occasionally treat my kids to Goldfish or Graham Crackers in their lunch boxes. Too expensive to visit regularly, Panzers is still a good place to get a take away sandwich or ripe seasonal fruit. read more

The staff are friendly and if there is not too much of a queue I get a freshly made baguette which costs about £3.00 which I don't consider unreasonable. Don't buy much else as it is just as others have said - everything else in the shop is very expensive. Weird way of web-ordering. You have to email them, then they call you back and take the order over the 'phone. OH gave an order for over £20 worth of salsa and asked for Royal Mail postage.
