My son and daughter-in-law made an advance booking online with Panther for a car to pick them and their toddler up from our hotel in Impington at 8:45 am on the morning of September 25 to catch a 10:18 am train from Peterborough. My daughter-in-law also called Panther in advance to confirm the booking. No car ever showed up and, when she called Panther after waiting 15 minutes past the scheduled pickup to get an estimated ETA, all they could say was "one of our drivers will pick up the trip." Thankfully the hotel was able to suggest another company to call. That company was able to get a car to the hotel quickly enough to make the train, but we will never rely on Panther again. read more

£20 for 5 mile journey at 3am with one POB. Complete ripoff and will never use again!

Very poor with a time given that was woefully wrong. I used a mobile phone to book, no one from the taxi firm Panther took the courtesy of letting me know that they would take 20 rather than 5 to10 mins to come and pick me up. So the Panther firm is now deleted from my phones, the fare is the same whether they pick you up on time or leave you stranded hanging around. I could have walked home in the time for being picked up. Very poor service, use at your peril read more

I booked a cab threw panthers app its like uber and you can pay by card. The driver charged me 5.50 when the finished fare was 4.60. he also made the payment request mid journey not thinking i would know but i got a recite for the journey on my email. I rang the company and they dont seem to care. so now im taking them to small claims court for 90p!!!! its the principle call centre staff rude some drivers are con artists and the company are a joke read more

Summary of the ridiculous event: The driver decided to speed away from my destination, refusing to let me get out the car after I wasn't able to pay an extra fare (on top of the meter) he had sprung on me out of the blue. The company later displayed complete disregard for the unacceptable behaviour. First the driver spent two minutes texting after I had gotten in the car. For a journey that usually costed £7, I only had £8.70 with me, and when the meter got to that price I asked if I could end the journey there and get out (only round the corner from the station, my destination) as that was the only money I had. The driver suddenly sprang on me that I had to pay a large extra fee because I had cancelled a booking half an hour prior which so happened to involve the same dirver. I was not told about this extra charge by panther, nor by the driver upon starting the jounrey, and speaking on the phone to the company immediately after, this extra charge was not justified. After having said I could only pay what was on the meter for the moment and sort the extra charge with panther over the phone, the driver said he then wouldn't take me to my destination and sped away from the station and said he would tae me to the police station instead. This was of course no matter for the police. The driver was speeding around and refusing to let me out which is a very scary situation to be in. He was also being incredibly rude. After I started to call the company, the driver finally agreed to let me out and pay the fare on the meter but drove me all the way back up the road away from the station, apparently where the £8.70 charge was. Of course I missed my train and was late for my engagements. Speaking to the company on the phone about it later, rather than wanting to hear from me, they only listened to the driver's account of events. I would be far too scared to use this service again and would encourage people in Cambridge to use a different service so not to be in danger of this behaviour from drivers, and the company's disregard for this unacceptable behaviour. read more

Very efficient private hire company with very little competition. Strong communication with central hub to order car but horrendous communication to customer. Multiple times I've received text saying taxi is about to arrive, go outside, and nothing is there. I wait five or ten minutes, call the central hub who say the cab left. Panther could use some training in what it means to be in services, but until the hey get more competition nothing will change read more

Very quick to get a taxi to you.

In the past have been a good taxi company, but we experienced extremely poor service the other night when Panther sent only 1 of the 3 prepaid taxis (that had been ordered a month in advance) to our location an hour from Cambridge, and cancelled the others without notifying us because they were having a busy night. For a taxi company to leave prepaid customers stranded with no offer of apology or a notification that the cars had been cancelled is extremely poor. read more

Avoid Panther taxi..They are very rude and impatient. We were returning from outpatient center Addenbrookes. So I booked a taxi from hospital premises which always books panther. Waited like 20 min but no sign of taxi. when I saw panther taxi thought it was for me because I have already waited 30 min. Asked the driver whether it was for me. He was so rude didn't even show the courtesy to say no, just nodded and made faces for no reason! after about 10 min later my taxi arrived and there was no message on my phone. Again I asked him if it was for me he said yes...I had 1 and half month old baby with me, baby was in the car seat. I asked him if he can help me with car seat as I was new parent and alone at that time he didn't even answer let alone helping. When we sat in taxi I asked him politely to wait so that I can secure baby. He acted very impatient after a min or 2 he just drove without informing. I wasn't done with seat belt as it was new for me. It just shocked me when he drove without even informing... We had a very bad experience with this taxi company and will never book a taxi from them read more

AWFUL service...everyone AVOID panther. They are rude, impatient and have no awareness of good customer service. I booked a taxi to collect me from my home and it arrived 10minutes early. From previous experience, I recalled that the drivers have a nasty habit of banging on the door until someone answers...even if they're early. As my housemate was sleeping in due to a night shift the night before, I called asking them to let the driver know that I was aware that he was outside and to ask him not to knock the door. The operator decided to shout at me, argue with me about the timings of when I booked a taxi and was incredibly rude to me. The entire conversation was completely irrelevant to the reason as to why I was calling. When I left the house to get into the taxi, I saw that it was not there. I called Panther, who informed me that the lady decided to cancel it as she felt that I was rude. I had to drive to work, was late to see my patients and payed £17 for parking a full day at the hospital. Never in my life have I dealt with a taxi rank that are so unreliable, rude and frankly quite vindictive. This is not the first time that I have had a problem with Panther either. On a another occasion, I asked for the driver to pick me up from Addenbrooke's. He arrived late however I was talking to a colleague (a conversation that lasted around 3 minutes!) when he arrived so didn't notice that he was actually there. When I looked up I saw he was there, got in and he was incredibly rude to me. He swore at me, said that I should be ashamed of myself for not paying attention and instead 'gassing' to someone else. He was incredibly rude, bad tempered and frankly quite threatening. I think it's disgusting that they feel that they are able to treat other people like that and sincerely wish that more people realise that there are much better taxi companies (e.g. A1) in Cambridge that are far more deserving of their service. Disgusting people, disgusting company, want nothing to do with them. read more
