We are on a roadtrip from Minnetonka, MN to North Dakota and stopped in the Osakis to check out the antique stores and saw a the sign and had to stop. Well worth the time. On our road trip we saw a sign for this distillery and I'm thrilled we did!! $10 tastings and a take home shot glass with extremely knowledgeable staff. The whiskey was delicious and everyone felt welcome (including my kiddos-- no shots for them, but it wasn't a problem they were there.) We had a wonderful time. On our road trip to the Twin Cities, a billboard peaked my interest. Panther distillery. Being a good passenger, and not at all acting like a backseat driver, I suggested to my friend that we should find this distillery and partake Of its spirits and offerings. So off we went, following billboards, and signs like tiny bread crumbs leading our way to the Mecca of well, Corn whiskey. Winding our way through a tiny town following the signs we finally landed at panther distillery. In a building that could be described as industrial, we pulled up to see two gentlemen out talking. They looked at us as we walked towards the building. They smiled knowingly. I began to wonder what we were in for. But was excited to find out. We opened up the door, and were greeted with a crowd of individuals who to follow the signs. They were full of smiles and cheer. The owner was getting ready to give a tour. I have seen a distillery before. And the only Touring I was interested in doing was with the senses of smell and taste. The tasting room is pretty standard. T-shirts and glasses on one wall. A bar with their offerings on the other side. Some places to hang out. And a window against the wall to where you can see the distillery portion. My friend and I bellied up the bar. Here tastings are three for $10. And you get a very nice shot glass. They go ahead and wrap up the shot glass, and serve the tastings (which equal about a shot) in disposable cups. In our first round we shared (I swear) Spiked Apple, Minnesota 14, and St Paul. The Apple was like apple pie shine. A great fall beverage. The Minnesota 14 and Pike Street both good examples of American Whiskey: one had a forward bite of pepper, the other smother, with lingering tones. The Pike Street is a bit more mellow due to the Wheat blend with the corn. I took a bottle of that to take home to the hubby. Next round, St. Paul, Maple and Honey. The Maple is dark and rich. The honey has a back bite, like a sting... a bit less sweet. The St. Paul, strait throat warming whiskey. All enjoyable, all only available in Minnesota, oh for sure. They distillery has a nice sense of pride, and the staff was warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, and inviting. They have a great product, and good advertising... follow the signs to a great experience. read more

I stopped here for a quick tour as husband and child walked our dog outside. I walked and saw corn mash which smelled good. Kinda like animal feed. I was able to take some photos. See below. The sampling costs $10 for 3 small shots and you get a souvenier shot glass. I tried Minnesota Whiskey, Spiced Rum (comming soon), and Spiced Apple. I enjoyed Spiced Apple the best. The Tour Guide Char was very nice and I was the only one there. I was relunctant to try gin due to not liking gin and tonic due to pine needle taste. This one tastes better and is recommended with a seedless cucumber for a refreshing drink. I purchased a Long sleeve t shirt for $20 and drink pourer for $5. You can not purchase booze on site due to our laws. The whiskey and other spirits are aged in oak barrels for 2-3 years off site. You can buy a mini oak barrel here for $60. Wow! What a great place to have up here. We stayed on Lake Miltona for a week and I noticed the ad for Panther in a magazine. I enjoy going to local breweries, and since there are none up this way, a distillery was second best. They have a nice little set up here, it's basically a big metal farm-esque warehouse. The inside has a little gift shop and bar up front. They have some really cool designs and merchandise for sale, although the prices definitely remind you that you're in a tourist area. Char, the lady working here, and tour guide, was great! She was super friendly and is perfect for the job here. She invited us right in and invited us for a tour. We looked around at the shirts and sweatshirts, flasks, and glasses for a while and then headed inside. It's really kind of neat to see the inside of a distillery. The stills, mash, fermentation, barrels, containment and everything. It's a huge process, I can't believe there were only two guys working in here. She walked us through the whole room showing us every step of the process. At the end you can sample some of their products. Even sneak previews of future products.....I was sadly disappointed that they are not allowed to sample their products OR sell their own products onsite.....Thanks Minnesota...Anyways, their whiskey is awesome, I haven't tried anything else but I can't wait for their bourbon to come out. This is the first legal distillery in Minnesota. I would definitely consider this place a diamond in the rough. They give free tours of their distillery, and provide samples of their products for $10, which also includes a shot glass with their logo. Great place to bring friends and family for a fun afternoon. Their Spiced Apple Whiskey is the best, it would make a great gift for the holidays. read more

We saw the billboard off the highway and decided to stop in for a tour. A really lovely, informative little tour of the distillery by Hayley and some great tasters with a couple of souvenir cups to take home! A great little place with some great booze. read more
