The tour started almost an hour later than scheduled due to an "unexpected marriage proposal" earlier in the day - lol, an unforeseeable event that was no fault of the staff. We were introduced to our horses and given instructions on how to ride, which was pretty comprehensive. I haven't met a lot of horses, but the one I was assigned, named Emmet, was exceptionally cooperative and calm. The landscape throughout the tour was beautiful. Because the fields are preserved for the horses to roam and the rides, there were a lot of wild deer that felt safe hanging out there as well.

According to their website, the camp was $400 with a $50 deposit but I ended up paying $460 for some reason because the deposit seemed to just be an up front pay, and we had to pay an extra $10 for a helmet rental. The kids rode a different horse every day, which was of course my daughter's favorite part, but they did a lot more activities that weren't related to horses at all. Instead of them playing basic camp games and doing basic crafts that could have been done at home, they could have done horse related games/activities. They also had a lot more downtime than anticipated and described on the site, and they were playing games in the blazing sun during a heatwave. Even though this was the first time for my daughter to ride a horse, instructor wasn't hands on, and just sat at the sidelines while yelling instructions at the kids from a distance. While my daughter overall had a great experience with the horses, our overall value for money could have been a lot better. The kids were doing unstructured activities and were unsupervised at times (we observed this)! I would definitely recommend other parents to look into other options for a horse camp.

We had classes at his shop, an easy to understand book study, and pool sessions that prepared me to be successful in the lake to complete my certification. Throughout the classes and instruction, Mike was very knowledgeable and patient. I loved learning how to be a safe diver. While I lived in Memphis I got my Advanced Open Water certification with Mike's instruction and I went on two cool dive trips with Mike and H20 divers. We went to Cozumel and Curacao ( for a week each trip.) I had a blast and felt very confident as a new diver.
