The tour started almost an hour later than scheduled due to an "unexpected marriage proposal" earlier in the day - lol, an unforeseeable event that was no fault of the staff. We were introduced to our horses and given instructions on how to ride, which was pretty comprehensive. I haven't met a lot of horses, but the one I was assigned, named Emmet, was exceptionally cooperative and calm. The landscape throughout the tour was beautiful. Because the fields are preserved for the horses to roam and the rides, there were a lot of wild deer that felt safe hanging out there as well.

Accessing the boat is not the most friendly for those that have mobility challenges. There is a flight of stairs to reach the dockside and then a short, steep sidewalk path down to reach the boats so this experience may definitely be challenging for some. (my mother held my sister's arm to steady herself as she did the walk down) Our tour guide (Laneer Smith was his name I believe) was absolutely amazing! He was extremely charismatic, funny, engaged with the attendees, and was a wealth of knowledge about Memphis and the surrounding area. Give that man a raise! Apparently he also works the evening dinner cruise as part of the band as well that this tour company offers. I learned more about Memphis and the bordering Arkansas area than I ever have from any other Memphis area tour I've done before. I genuinely had no idea Memphis sat right at the state line with Arkansas actually so there are times on the tour where you're actually in another state as you enjoy the mighty Mississippi around you. I highly recommend checking out the history tour if you can! Pro Tip - While there is no "official" parking lot we (and several other passengers) actually parked in the waterside cobblestone area leading up to the dock. Parking here is free and there is an easy ramp you can take that leads you straight down to this area. You'll see other vehicles parked down here as this is where employees on the water tend to park as well. (Make sure to turn your parking brake on though since it is at a steep angle)

I have signed up numerous times and they cancel due to weather. I miss living in MidTN where I could go anytime I want. I have even kayaked the forked deer river without a guide, trace creek along the TN River. When I left a negative review on Facebook and later deleted it the owner called me up to harass me even though I had already deleted it. What a drama queen!
