This is what authentic Mexican cuisine looks like. Pantera Market 2502 E. Linden Street Caldwell is the real deal. Great Mexican market with a big meat counter, plenty of vegetables for your home cooking, lots of spices and chilies. They have a large tortilla machine, so you know their stuff is fresh. There is a full scale panaderia and I would recommend the cheese and Jalapeño pan dulce. Plenty of parking and friendly service. The comida section is where you get their prepared foods and it is amazing. They have a large menu selection and a few tables inside for dining. Stopped by today to get acquainted with their tacos. Totally fabulous - two large corn tortillas not those silly street taco things. Huge serving of meat in each taco was dressed up with onions, cilantro. The "green" salsa was thick and packed with flavor. It came in a separate container. The adobada was out of this world tasty. The carnitas were moist, tender and yet had that unique crust from the deep frying process. Best version of carnitas in the Treasure Valley. I saw the large pot that was cooking the load of carnitas and it looked just like all the ones I have seen all over Mexico for the last 30+ years. Now, we are talking authentic. On a subsequent visit, the barbacoa was the star of the show. Chatting with the ladies behind the counter about their other dishes, I was very pleased to learn that they have Menudo and Birria de Chivo on Sat and Sun. I know where I will be on a regular basis for breakfast/lunch. What made me the most comfortable was the Mexican tradition of paying for your food after you eat and you pay using the honor system. On your way out to the parking lot, you tell the cashier at the opposite end of the building what you ate and she rings you up. Take a look at the photo and tell me if you have seen this much meat in a $1.39 taco anywhere within 50 miles and I will go there. I have read all the rave reviews about Pablo's tacos in Nampa, sorry folks Pantera Market is what real tacos look like.and taste like. Dare to compare, kiddies. They have some serious Birria de Chivo on the weekends. Add a Victoria Cerveza and you have a balanced meal. read more

Delicious affordable Mexican food. I always get tacos when I go, they are amazing with their portions. Worth your buck + atmosphere is very much so traditional and the music is traditional Mexican music. They provide great customer service. We went there just to grab a bite to eat real quick so we order we sat down we wait almost an hour for two small tacos and they just don't treat non Hispanic people very well.then three men that just got there get there food in under five minutes and we are just sitting there so we just walk out. read more

We stopped here to grab some Mexican food which was absolutely delicious. I got the Menudo with soup and we ordered to plates of Enchiladas which were huge portions and it was good. More of a family owned restaurant with home cooked style food. I didnt even have to add any spices to my menudo. You can order spicy foods on the menu as well. My husband and I absolutely love this place! Literally everything they make is so delicious! It's hard to pick a favorite, but we mostly go for tacos. I'm pretty sure we have had all their tacos, and love them all. My We are huge fans of their chips and guac too. I also recommend the chicken quesadillas and enchilada! Get the seasoned carne asada as their blend of spices is yummy! My husband also recommends their cerviche and menudo. Huge tip, if you're an avocado lover, buy them from here instead of Walmart because the quality is such a huge difference. Same with the rest of their produce. read more

This is now my go to I love the people. The atmosphere is perfect for a lunch break day break and probably dinner too.There's no reviews for a reason lol haha it's a hidden gem NO lie! Great little store. I stopped by the small restaurant in the back and I was not disappointed. The carnitas was excellent. I tried several things and it was really good. Salsas are excellent and so were their chicharones. They were warm and tasty. Definitely my go to place in Caldwell for this type of establishment. read more

Okay, I don't really write reviews- but I got to give credit where credit is due! Went in there for the first time today and not only do they have all the goodies, but their carne asada tacos and salsa are to die for! Reminds me of the tacos my best friends mom use to make for me (They obviously came from Mexico) SO good!! Never going to another food truck again, unless it's theirs. Being born and raised in the Los Angeles area and being a complete food snob, and someone who got to experience all sorts of mom cooked Mexican food from friends, I will state this very simply. The best damn Menudo, anywhere! The best damn rice and beans, anywhere. I do not eat refried beans, usually, and I will sit and eat a large bowl of theirs. I frequently purchase many meats from the butcher, and sauces that they make. I drive 20 minutes or more to visit this particular Pantera Market. My only wish is that they sold tamales at a steady supply, but until then, I'll enjoy all that I have found. There is a reason this store is always crowded, go find out for yourself why. You'll be doing yourself a huge favor, as Mexican food in this valley leaves a lot to be desired. read more

The best tacos I've had in Caldwell, and you can't beat the atmosphere. This is a small grocery store/meat market with a taqueria tucked back in the corner. It caters to Caldwell's Hispanic population, so you won't always find English speaking staff there, but if you don't speak Spanish, have no fear - the staff are very friendly and helpful.
