Then we remembered that our friend, Jon Boesen, was an attorney. We contacted Jon who we have known for almost 20 years. We explained the situation to Jon and he said that although this sort of thing was outside of his specific practice of law (personal injury) he thought he could help us out easily. When we protested that we had tried several times to get this business to do the right thing to no avail he assured us that he knew just the approach to take. Sure enough, within 24 hours, Jon had this company doing a complete about face and it would no longer be a bother to us. And he did it without having to take them to court or even threaten to. He simply went to their offices and sat down with their CEO and explained what he expected them to do...and they did it. We don't know what he said but it must have been convincing! His reputation as a successful Personal Injury Attorney must have had something to do with the quick results. Jon not only saved us from a corrupt organization but saved us countless thousands of dollars in legal fees. Our family has had to hire a lawyer once before and it was a money hole. That lawyer dragged the process out in an obvious attempt to bill us to death. Not Jon Boesen! His integrity and way with people is a wonder to behold. This was on a Friday so I did not expect to hear from anyone until at least Monday. Jerome wrote me that Saturday telling me to call him the following Monday to talk about the issues we were having. Unlike most the offices, some of which didn't even respond, he was willing to listen to what was going on before charging an exorbitant fee. Sometimes you just want to know you even have a case, let alone the fact we were upset with our seller because of expenses we now had to pay---we don't have$500 to be told there's nothing even to stand on. I called Jerome that Monday and after discussing the minuscule amount we're asking for in contractual fairness from our seller, he was honest that we had a case but it wasn't worth us utilizing his full services. Honest. AND THEN, He kindly offered to read over our mediation letter to our seller and give minimal professional advice, because he's like, a real human being and cares. He followed through with his promise when we sent him the draft, even after 2 months of gathering all our info. He called back less than 2 days later to discuss and give us some pointers. I want to be clear that his advice was straight and to the point--but nothing elaborate. I don't want there to be a misunderstanding that Jerome works for free, haha. I just want to illustrate to everyone that he's one of the good ones. He's honest and caring, and fair. He saw 2 first-time homeowner's getting the short end and he believes in right and wrong. There is no doubt if our seller continues to be a douche, and we unfortunately have to go to court, the we will use Geraghty Law Office. We will be forever grateful for Jerome's kindness regardless of the outcome.

Perhaps some attorneys are responsive and professional - but I can assure you those I have spoke with from this firm are not. In short, the lawyers from this firm I have interacted with are simply unethical.

I called Evans Case later to see why the attorney never called - apparently their scheduler simply never put my appointment in the books. The receptionist seemed to deflect blame back to me and questioned if I actually had an appointment and I replied with specific details that seemed to appease her gatekeeper mentality. "We're only human, sir!" Understood, but lack of detail orientation, general sloppiness, and needless finger pointing are not qualities I particularly seek in an attorney. I'm assuming this mistake was tossed aside by those that caused it and the people at Evans Case that might care (the attorneys) would be none the wiser. That's why I'm writing this.
