Overall I would say this place was great and would've been 4 stars had it not been for one particular disastrous dish (that I'll go into later). If I was being extra critical I could've brought my rating down to 2 stars, but I figured 3 because there were definitely a lot of bright spots and I'm more than willing to give Panshee another try in the future.
What we ordered...
~ Lamb Tikka Rogan Josh (£6.60)
Where it went wrong. This was an inedible 1 star dish for one reason - the lamb was horrendously overcooked. It hurt my jaw to chew through the absolute rubbery and stiff meat. After a few bites, I decided to give up. The sauce was nice, I'll give them that but meat itself was very disappointing (especially given that I paid extra for lamb tikka).
~ Lamb Saag (£4.75)
Fantastic dish - 4.5 stars. After trying the Rogan Josh I half expected the Lamb Saag to be a disaster as well, but when the lamb weren't tikka pieces, they were very succulent and tender. Well cooked and delicious! I guess they just messed up the other batch of lamb meat or something.
We also ordered pilau rice and some chips as side dishes, which were just your standard fare really, nothing special.

Basically, within the same meal I was shown that Panshee could go amazingly right while at the same time be capable of going horribly wrong. However, their Lamb Saag was so delicious that I'm willing to give them another try and hope that I just caught their lamb tikka on a bad day. read more
