I have been a patient of Dr. Panozzo's for the last 5 years. At first I really liked her but as each appointment went by (2-3 a year) her empathy and bedside manner completely faded. Like most doctors she is in and out of the room in less than five minutes, however, during that five minutes I don't feel listened to, I feel judged, and end up leaving her office thinking that she totally thinks I'm crazy. One of my last appointments I came in for unexplained weight gain- NO changes in my eating and exercise habits, I was seriously concerned. I mean I am pretty honest with myself and very self-aware- she looked at me and told me to eat right and exercise. That was the extent of the visit. No bloodwork. Nothing. I was so frustrated that I scheduled an an appt. with an endocrinologist that same week (of course it took over a month for an appt) and got answers from them-I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. A few months later I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My final appointment with her was my first one in over a year. I have since had a baby. I went to the appointment and was feeding my baby in the car seat carrier and playing music for him. She walked in the room without a smile and I immediately joked and said "Sorry, let me turn off the Beatles" Her straight face response was "what's going on? Sit on the table." She didn't acknowledge that her patient of 5 years had a baby, she didn't acknowledge that there was a baby in the room, nothing. I had to prop a stuffed animal up to my son's chin so he could finishing feeding his three month old-self. It was until I went to Google and saw that it wasn't just me. This is clearly Dr. Panozzo's style. If you like her, that's awesome- she's definitely not the right PCP for me. read more
