I opted for the wok bar and got the veal with vegetables and noodles. They cook it right there in front of you which did wonders for gaining trust in my normal airport food skepticism. This was the 2nd best airport meal I have had, only behind the juggernaut of clean and healthy airport food that is Amsterdam. I love the Dutch.

The selection of liquor was good, and beer and wine choices weee excellent. The fresh meat and fish food ingredients were on display in refrigerated, glass cases on the bar top. The bartender was personable and went out of her way to connect me to the internet and a menu in English. I ordered the fried squid tentacles with a liter of the local draft beer, Estrella Damm, and finished with a Jack Daniels on the rocks. Our last moments in Spain were spent here because hell, it was the airport, and we were catching a…read moreflight to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport at 7AM. Of course, that meant arriving at the terminal by the ungodly hour of 5AM. Security and passport check was a breeze at Barcelona El Prat, so we had time to kill before getting to the gate. No doubt of its prime location, this was the first sign of coffee anyone saw coming out of the security zone, which meant almost everyone made a pit stop here to refuel. Jamie W. and I certainly did as we needed a bit of Café con Leche to get our engines going for the flight ahead of us. The space was surprisingly expansive, accommodating a large influx of people easily even if the staff didn't display as much flexibility. There is an element of Scandinavian ship design given the free-form cabling and wooden ceiling boxes that marked the open space. Not that we appreciated the architectural detail since we were near-zombies at that hour. The meh-ness of the experience lingered after we started homeward bound.
