I had many tacos and a quesadilla, and to bags of the baked goods they are delicious.

The food is truly delicious at panificadora. We have eaten there many times, we were never disappointed.

Stopped by this place at random today and it was ok. I ordered myself a torta cubana today and it had very little to practically no pineapple which saddened me :( I love pineapple in my torta cubana & I asked the server if it came with pineapple & she said it did. The torta itself was good, different from other torta cubana's that I've tried but it was decent. It had lots of chorizo, Milanesa, & little bit of Ham. The place is small, but was kept tidy & clean. I didn't get to try their bakery items, but they sure looked tasty. This place doesn't have a menu for you to look through as you sit, it's an order at the counter type of place. Overall this place was ok. I give it a 3 because it seemed a bit pricey at $11 for a torta & no drink, I wasn't given napkins, & my torta lacked pineapple.

Pollo torta de tamal. This is a tamale in between their in house baked torta bread. Stuffed with onion and mayonnaise.

TL;DR 11/10, great first impression, will definitely be coming back to explore more of what amazing creations this place has to offer. Literally just walked in on a whim today. I come from an area where authentic Mexican culture is not really common. So I decided that, on a rainy day, I'm going to experience an authentic panderia for the first time. The girl behind the counter was really helpful in explaining some of the different foods they specialized in. That's when she pointed out the torta del tamal on the menu. I gave her my trust and ordered both the pork and chicken to go at $4 each; an amazing price. I collected my food while she muttered "hope you like it." Trust me I did. In the back of my mind I was sitting there thinking about the double carb and how consistency might clash, and wondered how onion and mayonnaise fits into this whole combo and so on and so forth. But the chaos of all these ringing questions were quelled upon impact of the first bite. Freshly baked torta bread with a warm tamale with tender meat in every bite almost like a patty, marinated in their respective sauces with a gentle bite from the sweet onion and savory finish from the mayonnaise. This is a simple delight that speaks directly to the soul. This place is one among few of the truly hidden gems that Costa Mesa has to offer. I'm glad that I got the chance today to begin a new expedition into a goldmine of culture and tradition baked fresh every day. If you don't believe me, take a chance and try it for yourself.

Ordered a tres leches from here for my baby shower and it was amazing! It was the most beautiful cake, moist, fresh and delicious! Super happy and cannot recommend enough.

Chocolate Dino Birthday Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting

We asked for a Dino birthday cake and they hit it out of the park! Our 4 year old was blown away by the design and our guests loved the flavor of the cake.

This is what I got... look at how crooked the lettering is and it doesn't even match the cake I showed them.
    Katelyn T.

This was probably the worst cake I have ever gotten... I'm so disappointed, I asked them if they could make a cake the looks like this picture and they said yes no problem it would be easy. The cake they gave me was completely crooked and the lettering was not even centered... I ordered a tres leches cake and it was completely dry I would never recommend this place.. I paid way too much for an ugly looking dry cake.. so sad

When we ordered the cinnamon roll, there was no option to heat it up, so we thought they would have done it already. When it was served, it was rock solid. So, we asked them to heat it up. However, after a few minutes, it still wasn't that gooey and the inner core was still pretty tough. Perhaps they could have warmed it up so that it was evenly softened. Overall, the cinnamon roll was alright. It was a brioche roll so you would think it might be lighter and fluffy, but ours was pretty dry. However, the cream on top was insanely good. It carried the roll. The hazelnut twist was kind of what you would expect. A twisted pastry but with a hefty amount of hazelnut-chocolate spread thru the layers. We sat in a little nook, where there was a magnetic black board, where there were word tiles you could rearrange in any way. It was a nice place to just look around at all the sentences the community wrote. Chess tables were also available as extra seating. Overall, the service was good, but could be better when warming up pastries, so that the customer can enjoy them properly!

The cream is super smooth and filled with actual durian pulp--no artificial flavor at all. Sadly, the jasmine tea cheesecake was one of the worst desserts we've had. It tasted so unpleasant that we ended up throwing away what you see in the photo because we simply couldn't take another bite. The checkout experience was also a little unusual. The cashier told us the credit card machine wasn't working, so the only payment options were cash or sending a Zelle payment directly to the owner. There was a small handwritten sticky note with an individual's name and phone number for the Zelle payment, which felt a bit odd. To be fair, there wasn't a large selection available when we visited, so it's possible they have other pastries or desserts that are much better than what we tried. However, based on our experience, the item we purchased was disappointing, and the $12 definitely didn't feel well spent. On the positive side, the décor and overall aesthetic were lovely and were probably the bakery's strongest feature. But as the saying goes, you can't judge a book by its cover... and you can't judge a bakery by its ambience either.
