After reading some of these poor reviews posted for 86 Forks, it comes to my attention. Why would anyone finish their meal, pay for it, and then take the time to go online to post a bad review? Why not take the time before hand to ask what a certain dish or meal is - its flavor profile, spice(s), heat, etc.? We did ask the chef and she was more than happy to take the time to explain the dish's concept and let us taste prior to ordering. Read all the good and the bad reviews and ask yourself: 1. If unhappy with the dish, why clear your plate? 2. If not completely satisfied, why pay the bill? Why? Because it's simply not true. People like this are never going to be satisfied or happy. Never. Try 86 Forks for yourselves. Don't be afraid to ask the servers or better yet, ask the chef to explain the concept or allow you to taste something if you're unsure. Be adventurous and make up your own mind - you will not be disappointed. Please remember, this is not a Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Philippine, Italian, Mexican, etc. restaurant. Rather it is a fusion of the best flavors, spices, food pairings, and textures from all these cultures presented in a creative and distinct manner. Recommend the Bulgogi Egg Rolls and the Miso Cream Gnocchi & Edamame.

Will not be returning and a highly recommend you go elsewhere downtown. 1. Spare pork Ribs were frozen in the center. Opinion: They clearly heat up pre-cooked from the freezer. Sauce was phenomenal on these, if they are cooked thoroughly next time this could be an excellent appetizer. 2. Side of Bok Choy was also frozen in the center of the largest piece. Opinion: Heated from frozen and precooked. 3. Chicken Kung Pao Fried Rice was soggy, had zero flavor and was overwhelmingly salted. I would have preferred a 3.99 rice bowl from the freezer aisle in Publix over this garbage. 4. Pensacola Spritz cocktail was almost entirely sugar and tasted like a Shirley temple. Server was nice and ambiance was fine. Utter shame this slop steals business from local businesses that put in a respectable effort. (Comments above are opinions only based on a in person visit June 2026 and should not be taken as statements of fact. I have no way of knowing if the food is cooked from frozen. )

Here is the completed review with your additional details incorporated:…read more I recently visited **Kalbi Ichiban** in Pensacola, Florida, located in the area of town where I grew up. It was good to return to familiar surroundings and find a restaurant offering a different dining experience. The interior is attractive, clean, and inviting. The restaurant also offers Korean barbecue, with tabletop grills built into several booths. It is a nice option for families, groups, or anyone interested in a more interactive meal. I went specifically looking for authentic Korean food. Having experienced Bulgogi while serving in Korea, it quickly became one of my favorite dishes. Most chain restaurants do not do the dish particularly well, so I decided to give Kalbi Ichiban's version a try. My waiter, **Carson**, was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. He checked on me regularly without being intrusive and made the overall experience even better. Carson receives five stars from me. The meal came with Bulgogi, rice, and a choice of soup or salad. I selected fried rice and started with the hot and sour soup. I also ordered a side of kimchi because, in my opinion, a Korean meal is not complete without it. The hot and sour soup was excellent. It had great flavor, was well prepared, and was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The fried rice was good, although nothing about it particularly stood out. The Bulgogi was tender and very flavorful, but it was wetter than traditional Bulgogi. Authentic Bulgogi is normally much drier, with the marinade cooked into the meat rather than leaving it with a gravy-like consistency. Even with that difference, the flavor was enjoyable. The kimchi was also very good and added the right touch to the meal. Interestingly, the hot and sour soup was spicier than the kimchi. However, different regions of Korea prepare kimchi in different ways, so the level of heat and flavor can vary considerably. Overall, I was pleased with the meal and would rate the food **8.5 out of 10**. After adding a couple of cocktails, I was also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the final bill was. I would rate the restaurant **two dollar signs out of five for price**, making it a good value for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. Kalbi Ichiban may not serve Bulgogi exactly as I remember it from Korea, but it delivered a flavorful and satisfying meal. Combined with Carson's excellent service, the inviting atmosphere, and reasonable prices, it was an enjoyable dining experience and a restaurant I would visit again.

Since it was Sunday evening, a lot of Pensacola's Italian restaurants were closed. Bavarian Pensacola was opened and immediately went to the top of the list for the Yelp reviews and the unusual combination of German and Italian food. The restaurant is located in a neat downtown district. Parking is limited but we were fortunate to find a spot close to the shop. We walked in were immediately by a friendly hostess who offered any table we wanted to sit at. We chose a high top which had comfortable chairs. The interior of the restaurant was really interesting. The military vibe is everywhere and awesome. Photos and images celebrating our great armed service members with a local Pensacola flare adorned the walls where TV's weren't hung on. The atmosphere is open and pleasantly bright. There was also the German influence which worked well with the other themes of the restaurant. Our waiter was great. We ordered large pretzel with sweet mustard, spicy mustard and beer cheese. The pretzel was legit and all of the sauces were great. For entrees, I ordered French Onion soup with a side spatzel (sp?). My wife ordered the Reuben on a panini instead of rye with German potato salad. My son ordered blackened buffalo wings and fries. The onion soup was tasty- I like more broth than onion but that's me. The spatzel was good in a sneaky way. When I first had a bite, I was underwhelmed with the initial taste. But just as the taste progressed, the spatezel conveyed a rich buttery flavor that prompted me to snack on them throughout the meal. My wife's Reuben was the winner of the dinner. The Reuben was amazing! The bread was delicious and the combination of corned beef, sauerkraut and sauce was so good. One of the best Reuben's we have had. Awesome! The potato salad was served cold (often it is served warm) but my wife was not a fan; that is not a hit on the dish however since it tasted like the German potato salad we have had in the past. My son's wings were tasty but not your typical buffalo flavor. It was a dry rub that was blackened which is different from the typical buffalo wing flavor. My son was not a fan but they were good once you knew they were different from the norm. Bavaria Pensacola makes their own blue cheese dressing. Tragically, they were out. I am positive the dressing is top notch. If you're still with me, you might be wondering a pizza- the menu was so varied that we chose something else. That doesn't mean that the pizza was any less delicious than the items we ordered. We will return again to try the pizza. We finished the dinner with chocolate cake and apple strudel. Both were great. The strudel was doughy and not flaky but tasty nonetheless. The cake was rich and completely worth the splurge. Overall, we had a great time. The food was good, our service was great and we promised ourselves that we would return the next time we are in Pensacola. Thanks, Bavaria Pensacola!!
