We came here for lunch and every time they never disappoint. We order our regulars. Husband turkey and cheese as well as my daughter. They really enjoy their sandwich. I get the Mediterranean sandwich with basil bread. I always put extra if everything I can. I learned that trick from my sweet friend from Vegas. It makes it so big and satisfying. The sandwiches come with the potato chips and we order a drink with that. I love the green tea papaya drink. It is not too sweet and the flavor it's great. The place has plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. This is our choice when we want something cold and satisfying. Sandwiches are great in the summer time. So refreshing. Panera is... Panera. If you've been there you know what to expect, and this W Shaw location delivers it: comfortable and spacious tables, self-serve ordering and seating, the basic soup-salad-and-sandwich menu and friendly staff. I do want to give a particular shout out to the staff at this location who were all very warm and friendly and helpful. And you know -- Panera food is a bit like other large chains, in the sense that "you get what you get and it's very consistent and it's typically fine." So why only the three stars? Oh it was the chicken salad sandwich. I had been sad that Panera -- quite a while back now -- got rid of its chicken salad sandwich. It's not just my favorite thing to eat there, but it's literally the favorite of most people I know. We all loved that sandwich. And it was discontinued for reasons unknown. But then wait! "For a limited time" Panera was offering a chicken salad sandwich. You'd think it was good right? Well. It was OK but it was nothing like their old chicken salad sandwich. It was a horrible disappointment, for three reasons. 1. It is mush. Instead of the old chicken salad sandwich, which had definite chunks of chicken and other items in it, this was made of shredded chicken mush. Kind of the texture of a soggy tuna salad sandwich with low-grade flaked tuna. Extremely disappointing. 2. It tastes sweet: ugh. A little sweetness in a sandwich is ok. But this was really sweet. 3. The proportions were way off: whereas the old chicken salad sandwich had a heft amount of filling this one had, I joked with my husband, "a hint of chicken." Lettuce and thick tomato acted as filler and there wasn't much chicken. And yes, I'm aware that I'm saying "the chicken wasn't very good" AND "there wasn't much of it." But in the old sandwich, there was a lot of chicken and it was delicious: so. I doubt they'll bring back tbe old chicken sandwich. It was probably kind of expensive to make and all the Panera portions seem to be shrinking. But I wanted to warn other Panera chicken salad sandwich fans -- if you liked the old one, you're more than likely going to be horribly disappointed in this one. read more

Unfortunately, it seemed like an unreasonably long wait for my broccoli-cheddar soup and BLT salad. Service seemed indifferent; they weren't passing out pagers when I was there, so it took three trips to the food expediting area to get my order. Not good. I was a member of the unlimited sip club for one month. In my honest opinion the coffee tasted like the management was trying to stretch the coffee batches. The coffee really lacked body regardless of which variety I chose(dark roast, light roast or the Hazelnut) I guess I will have to go back to my normal at Md's. I don't usually go to this Panera because the one out by 99 is so much closer, but went in last week to have a quick salad. It was so good and made exactly like I ordered it. I also noticed that this location is noticeably cleaner than it used to be. I mentioned this to the young woman behind the counter and she said they have a new manager who is actually doing a lot of the cleaning himself! Impressive. Anyway, I'll be back. Leaving this location at 2 stars. The food is inconsistent- sometimes it's fresh and other times the turkey tastes frozen and the lettuce and avocado are brown. You pay a pretty penny here so it puzzles me why you don't always get what you pay for. The service is usually OK when I order inside. It's the drive thru I have an issue with. The worker had a very rude tone with me because I didn't say my name in the speaker for my drive thru pick up order. At the other location at el paseo I can bypass the speaker to pick up my food at the window. Apparently at this location you MUST say your name in their speaker or you will get reprimanded in a rude manner. I was not a happy customer and yes I let management know. Came here on a Sat at 5pm and no line! The place was empty. The Cashier was friendly and helpful. I had many questions on sizes of pizzas and sandwiches and she was happy to answer. We came for the bread bowls so we could take them home for our own soup that I made but then I also ordered the Pizza Margherita which is a flat bread style. The sauce was a little sweet but not bad. I signed up for the app and got a free pastry so that was a plus. I will be back to try their salads next time! read more

I haven't been at Panera since pre Covid times and I was in for a fear surprise. I tried their popular bacon avo melt. It's crispy and hits the spot on a rainy day. They have many new sandwiches. As a side I went with the bacon topped Mac and cheese and my taste buds were so happy! It was extremely flavorful and so creamy. To round about my lunch, I opted for tye cinnamon roll. I cannot explain the level of deliciousness in that dessert. So "gushy" and warm in the middle. I enjoyed every bite. read more

I wanted to order something quick and small and decided to get a half order of their Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken, and it did not disappoint. I love salads and can be picky about the quality of salads I eat. This particular salad was fresh, crisp, and the dressing was fantastic...it really hot the spot. The only issue I had was the chicken was slightly over salted but I'm chalking it up to being a fluke as I've had other salads with chicken on it before and they had never been over salted before. I was a fan of Panera for years now. Went in October 14th 2022. I'm 7 months pregnant. Was craving a frontega chicken panini. Seen that my husband had doordashed the same thing to himself at work earlier. I went around 8:00pm. Something didn't taste right. I ordered a whole order. I ate half of one sandwich and just put it aside. I was hungry but wasn't tasting like normal. Went home evening and woke up super sick to my stomach. Didn't sleep the entire night. I suffered food poisoning. Had to call my dr, and cancelled my entire work day the next a day. I couldn't even get out of bed from being soo sick all night. I had put the leftover in fridge as soon as I was home. Now My entire fridge smelled. Not in a good way. Once thrown in trash that smelled horrible. I didn't deserve this. Will not be returning to this location or any others. Please take food safety more serious. read more

This location is top notch. Not only is it close by my home but I have had friendly and great service the 3 times I have been there in the past month. My favorite bagels have been the cinnamon and raisin, Chocolate chip and jalopeno cheddar. The maple walnut cream cheese is pretty awesome too. They do not have any vegan bakery items which is a bummer because I do have one vegan coworker. I do hope that they come around and provide a few vegan baked goods in the future. I have been ordering bagels to go for my coworkers lately but today I purchased a travel coffee pack. I was really impressed by the coffee pack value and flavor. I actually have never had the coffee from Panera before but I am a fan. My coworkers all enjoyed the flavor of the light roast. We went in for lunch about noon. I was looking forward to Panera's turkey chili and a piece of their french bread. It is no longer on the menu and in its place is fireside chili. I ordered it and it was awful and the bread was literally ice cold. There was so much chili powder in it that it made it almost inedible. Sonic and Wendy's have better chili. The iced tea was disgusting because it was starting to go bad. It looked like no one bothered to clean out the dispenser. It is very disappointing how far down Panera on Shaw Avenue has fallen. So, this place always has good service. The manager is always engaged with his customers. I come here about 1-2 times a month for lunch and sometimes take home dinner to my family. Yesterday I ordered the new Green Goddess Caprese Melt. I've missed the Caprese Sandwich they used to have. It's only ready to order through the App though. I think the manager told me it was starting this weekend live in the store. Loved the new sandwich with only one exception. Not enough fresh mozzarella.... It was barely visible and had hoped to get the Caprese experience. I have to be honest I wasn't feeling it. But the new sandwich was good, just not a close call to a traditional Caprese. I have the review 4 stars because as a store, this place always has good service and deserves 5 for that.
