Yeah spent a good 45 minutes looking and did not want to stop, and that was just with the housewares. I did not even bother with the clothes racks. Not sure what charity this ORG services. I just had the most bizarre interaction over 90 seconds of dropping off items to be donated where…read morethe young man receiving the goods got approval from the senior older man and the next thing I know the younger man is staring me down as if he wanted to fight me because I suggested to him that one of the drawers he was taking, went to another dresser that he might want to put it with that dresser to which he turned to me and wanted to literally almost fistfight me in front of my wife as we were trying to make a donation. Walked into Wonderland Thrift Shop, lots of random things in no particular grouping, carousels of small children's clothes and odds and ends. The ladies were busy but stopped to ask if I needed help. "Do you happen to have a hand mixer?" "Funny you should ask, something came in this morning", walking over to a box filled with random items and handing me a very nice stainless, Cuisinart one. She advised me to plug it in to make sure it worked and out I walked with a $5 mixer and a beautiful stoneware serving platter for a $1. Highly recommend this spot, you might get lucky too.

This is one of those stores that looks small but that you could spend longer than you thought browsing in. Unlike many vintage shops with mildew and funky smelling items, everything here is pristine and clean. You never know what you'll find ... home decor, furniture, jewelry, wall art. The staff is SO helpful here ... as near as I can tell its an all-female owned collective. There are a few different sellers who have space here, so its a varied theme. The owner was absolutely super helpful in answering questions and facilitating a sale. She even helped us park and load a small piece of furniture into our car. I really can't say enough great things about the owner's helpfulness and the friendliness of her staff. We make it a point to stop here each time we pass through or by Newburyport and each time we come across something new and fun. There are a few similar shops in town but we find the selection and prices are the best here. Newburyport itself is such a fun little town to walk around. It feels like a little town in England. They even have a small store which sells English goods across the street from Green Plum. (see my review of that shop.) The only thing I'll say is that it would be nice if there was some hand sanitizer at the door when you walk in. And because there are a lot of cool things to look at in a long, narrow shop, it can get a bit crowded near the cash register area from a social distancing aspect.

Every time I go in he greats me with a warm welcome and even remembered my face after being away at college for a couple years. I can really tell how much he cares about his beautiful shop and his shoppers- he makes every visit so special for me and my girlfriend. To anyone discouraged by his policy on not allowing larger handbags I think you have to consider how much inventory goes missing and how hard that must be for the shop. He even offers a small paper bag for any belonging you'd like to keep on hand during your browsing. As a former worker at the Village Silver Smith, I saw how much was stolen by all age groups so don't feel singled out if he asks you to leave your bag in your car or at the front desk.

I decided to stop in on my way home and boy am I glad that I did!! What a gem of a shop. 3 floors representing many different dealers with a wide selection of inventory. Prices vary greatly (as they should) but Bobby (the owner) was willing and wanting to make deals with friendly customers. Bobby and his team were incredibly sweet and very lovely to talk to. Bobby mentioned that they just re-opened for the season this past week. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpful. You can tell that Bobby has been in the business for a long time and that he has a great deal of knowledge that he wants to pass along to others. It was obvious to me that Bobby cares about the business and that he wants to do what he can to help get younger generations interested in and excited about antiques. I unfortunately had a time restraint due to my work schedule the day of my visit so I had to set an alarm to remind myself when I had to leave by. Needless to say, I snoozed my alarm 3 times . Ladies leave your handbags in the car or be willing to lock them in one of the available lockers at the front of the store. They (understandably) have a handbag policy to help prevent theft across the store. That said, I heard Bobby thank numerous customers for being understanding of the policy. Just be aware of the policy before you go and don't take it personally as it's a store policy and it applies to everyone. Sadly, I'm sure it was put into place for a reason. Be respectful and understanding and that will go a long way with the employees. There are SO many treasures to discover at this shop so be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to look around. It is definitely worth making a trip to Rowley to visit this shop. Be sure to check hours ahead of times as they are not open 7 days a week. Rowley is over an hour away from me but I will DEFINITELY be back and will be telling others to make the trek as well.
