I'm lying in my pod writing this review even though I haven't spent a night sleeping here yet. Well the mattress is on the thin side but I'm lying on top of the comforter which gives you some more padding. So far it feels comfy but I'll find out how I slept tomorrow morning. You have all your basic amenities like toilet, showers, soap dispenser, hair dryer, towel/slipper service, kitchen/eating area with microwave & hot water dispenser, cutlery/dishes/cups, snack vending machine but no fridge. Storage wise your shoes & carry on are stored at the front hallway & my large backpack fit snugly in a locker underneath the pod. All the lockers use a fob system which each person is given at check in. And you know they are all about customer service because I asked about checking out early in the morning to catch my flight and the attendant asked if I required a taxi just like at a 5* hotel. Unless something drastically goes wrong overnight I'm definitely recommending this place. Everyone should at least try once sleeping in these pods unless you are claustrophobic then maybe not for you.

From staff at checkin to housekeeping staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful. While the lobby is very small and unassuming, their rooms are not very big, but they have plenty of character and everything you need. Our housekeeping lady knew our schedule and was so helpful and mindful of when we would go out. She saw that we had 2 small kids in our room and left an extra carafe of water with an extra glass. This was such an awesome touch. pros: Proximity to YVR Lots of good Asian food and stores nearby Shuttle to YVR Complementary valet service Small gym but they have a full set of dumbbells, a few kettlebells, a cable machine, 2 Peloton bikes, a couple of treadmills, 2 benches, a workout mirror, jump ropes, foam rollers, weights balls, and mats. I have seen smaller gyms at bigger hotels and "gyms" that had nothing but mats and a few miscellaneous items. Rooftop pool and jacuzzi that is not crowded Quiet rooms- the only morning my sleep was interrupted was on Monday at 8:20 ish during delivery of items. Otherwise, I never heard my neighbors, planes, nor elevator noise. 2 fluffy robes and 2 slippers in rooms. The Red Flower toiletries were great and smelled wonderful! The bath salts and soaking tub was so relaxing Cold towels in gym cons: I prefer self parking since we come and go several times a day but we just opted to park in the private lot attached to the building and paid their daily fees No ice machine but staff will bring you some upon request The pool area was very clean and everyone was respectful of picking up after themselves. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the nice touches that only boutique hotels offer.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn Express on an overnight trip with my family to Richmond and Vancouver. It is located within the Riverport entertainment complex in Richmond, which is away from the main part of Richmond. The hotel is relatively small as there are only a few floors. Check-in was slow as there was one person at the front desk and a somewhat long line. Once checked in, I was able to park in the lot behind the hotel. Unlike the other Holiday Inn locations, parking is free here. We stayed in a comfy double bedded room, which had a mini fridge and microwave inside the room. There is a free daily hotel breakfast available downstairs and the selection was better than expected. Offerings include pancakes, eggs, sausage, baked beans, cinnamon rolls and rice. The hotel also has recreational facilities as there is a pool, fitness centre and a fenced basketball court outside. I really like this location as it feels quiet and secluded. You do not hear much street traffic in this area at night, which is a huge plus. It is preferable to have a car as there are not a lot of restaurants nearby. However, taking public transportation is doable as there are nearby bus stops along Steveston Highway. I would consider staying at this hotel again if I am doing another overnight trip up to Richmond and Vancouver due to room comfort and its amenities.

Joshua is hands down one of the best bartenders I've ever met. From the moment we sat down he made the whole bar feel welcoming, fun, and relaxed. He's incredibly personable, easy to talk to, and somehow manages to keep great conversation going while still running the bar like a pro. What really stood out is that he genuinely seems to care that everyone is having a good time. The drinks were excellent, the service was spot-on, and the whole experience felt effortless because he's so good at what he does. You can tell when someone just works behind a bar and when someone truly creates an experience. Joshua absolutely does the latter. If you're going to The Apron, do yourself a favor and grab a seat at Joshua's bar. You'll leave in a better mood than when you walked in. Management should know they've got an absolute star behind the bar.

My room was very clean and the view of the North Shore Mountain range was stunning. My room also overlooked the Richmond Night Market, where rows of colorful yellow, pink, and blue tents are known to come alive on weekend evenings with various food vendors, local artisans, and a lively, festival-like atmosphere. It was not open on the weekdays of my stay, but is an easy walk from the hotel during market hours. The location is incredibly convenient, a short walk to Aberdeen Centre, a three-level Asian shopping mall with a great food court, and within walking distance of many excellent Asian restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines. If you prefer to stay in, the hotel itself is just as enjoyable. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the staff friendly, and the fitness center features beautiful mountain views that make a workout feel like a treat. The Apron is a cozy on-site bar and restaurant where the meals are fresh, healthy, and full of flavor, although the portions are small. However, it's an ideal spot to relax without leaving the hotel.

This made things a lot easier for her in the long run. Wow...so glad I got to try this place with her. 5 star experience! To begin with...location, location, location. You really can't get any closer to the airport than this hotel as it's built into the airport itself. I spent a few minutes on the treadmill in hotel's gym, and while walking on the treadmill, I found myself looking through a window where the view was of electronic kiosks for people to do check-in. And for anyone with mobility issues who might be concerned about having to still walk through the airport to get to whatever part of the airport they need to get to...you can go to the front desk of this hotel and reserve a ride on a golf cart to get to where you need to go! That is exactly what I did. Mom and I rode a golf cart at 6:30am to get to the Air Canada check-in counter. Our room was gorgeous and very comfortable. I loved the design of the bathtub, and how there were sliding doors which gave the option of bathing while being able to see and chat with other people in the room, but also the option of closing those sliding doors for privacy. Our stay was short but sweet, and I tried to get the most that I could out of our very short stay. So I made sure to take a bath in the bathtub, and yes...I opted to close those doors for privacy! They provided a couple of nice, thick bathrobes in the closet along with green slippers that had the word "Fairmont" embroidered into the slipper. These were super handy as I'd forgotten to pack myself some slippers. Mom and I both made use of these slippers and brought them along with us for our travels. Staying here is pricey but it was worth every penny!

Elevator was flashing numbers, buttons stopped working, and kept going up and down floors without the doors opening. We immediately pressed the alarm button, but it only rang inside the elevator and appeared to have no effect outside--no one responded. We then attempted to use the emergency phone, only to find it was taped shut and unusable. We have photographic evidence of this. As a result, we were unable to contact emergency services through the elevator's built-in system. Fortunately, we had mobile service and were able to contact the front desk directly. We were eventually able to exit the elevator after approximately 10 minutes. The manager managed to bring us down to the lobby but could not open the doors. When she finally did, the hotel only offered a breakfast voucher as a peace offering for the mishap. Another hotel guest tried to use the elevator and we had warned them not to use it. Hotel staff didn't block the elevator or warn other guests after the event. We called corporate later that night to report and they sent over a message to the hotel manager to rectify the situation further. They asked us to call them back if the hotel did not respond. No one contacted us further and nothing was discussed at checkout the following morning either. Upon calling Choice Hotels corporate after, they only offerred us 10,000 points, which is equal to $60. This wasn't a money factor, it was a major concern to address and now an added insult to your guests safety. For a "4-star" hotel, This situation raises serious safety concerns. Had we not had mobile phone service, we would have had no means of contacting anyone for assistance. We urge the hotel to review and rectify the functionality of its elevator emergency systems to ensure guest/employee safety.

WARNING..Stay away from this place -- not worth the money or stress…read more My girlfriend and I stayed here from June 19-22 and honestly, we were both really disappointed with the experience. This hotel is listed as a 4-star property, but based on our stay, that label feels completely misleading. First off, the continental breakfast was way overpriced for what you get. It wasn't the worst thing we've had, but definitely not something I'd expect from a hotel that claims to be upscale. You're better off eating elsewhere. Parking was another headache. If you can't snag one of the limited spots out front, you're forced to park in a nearby structure, (with no security) take stairs down to the 2nd floor, then walk through a mall just to get back to the hotel. It's a hassle--especially if you're carrying luggage or it's late at night. And especially when having to go back up to your car. But the worst part of our stay happened on our last night. While trying to get back to our room on the 12th floor, we got stuck in the main elevator. We hit the alarm, but it only rang inside the elevator with no outside response. To make matters worse, the emergency phone was taped shut--we have photo proof. That meant if we didn't have phone service (to which I barely had one bar), we would've had no way to call for help. Thankfully, we eventually got out after about 10 minutes, but the whole thing was stressful and completely unacceptable. We told the front desk what happened, and all they offered was a free breakfast. That's it. Not only was that a weak response, but the elevator issue wasn't even addressed. We actually had to stop another guest from using the same elevator afterward because no one had looked into it. Who knows how many people may have used it after us? We also reported the situation to corporate, and all they did was offer us 10,000 points--as if that somehow makes up for a serious safety violation. That equals about $60, which is actually less than what they charge for breakfast for two people. This wasn't just an inconvenience--it was a serious failure in safety and customer service. If you're looking for a place that's worth your time, money, and peace of mind, I'd highly suggest looking elsewhere.

The nice part of our room is that they gave us a room on the top floor that gave us access to a private rooftop balcony but it's not enough to give it any additional stars since the balcony was pretty dirty as well. I think the best part of our stay was that it's near the shopping mall as well as near the metro.
