I visited Panda Express around 2 p.m. and found a lot of food on display but no customers. I requested a few items to be prepared fresh. The honey walnut shrimp and super greens were no problem since they were almost out. However, when I sampled the honey sesame chicken, I noticed it was soggy. I asked to sample the orange chicken, but the lady worker informed me that I couldn't keep sampling. EJ mentioned that they couldn't make more honey sesame chicken because it would go to waste, as there was already plenty of soggy chicken left. I wanted my food fresh, but this was an issue. Instead of ordering two plates, I opted for what was prepared fresh. Just be aware of the food quality at this location. read more

I generally will go to Panda for a Go-to fast food delicious meal. There where some issues with this experience. The first problem the food had been sitting under the lamps awhile, and some where actually cold... the crew was actually more interested in closing the place down instead of taking anyone's orders. Being from California (Pasadena actually, where the first panda was founded) and moving to Alexandria 4 years ago, I was thrilled when we found out Panda was opening here! One of my favorite places to eat! The food here is great, customer service is above average (as expected), but the issue we have ran I to twice now is that they will randomly close 10-30 minutes early for no reason except that they want to try to clean up early and get out. Again tonight my wife asked for panda so I rushed over to get it after work arriving at 9:45 pm only to have them tell me they are closed and to come back tomorrow morning at 10:30 (while I am all for panda for breakfast, my wife not so much). I get it, fresh food, clean up take a little longer than usual, but closing 10-30 minutes early "just because we feel like it" is not cool. Not worth the cost at this location! We've been eating Panda since we were young, as we're from out West, and we pushed for Panda to come to Alexandria for the past few years. We also travel a lot as a family and eat Panda in Malls, stand alone stores, etc., throughout the country. However, since the start-up team left this location it's absolutely the worst Panda Express I've been too. I'm writing this review because there is zero consistency with the quality of food here. The orange chicken never taste the same, it will either be so spicy you can't eat it, or have no spice at all. They are consistently running out of white steamed rice by 5:30 - 6:00 pm, when they close at 9, or not having it ready when the lunch rush starts. Furthermore, their teriyaki sauce is never the same, it's either colored water or so thick it comes out like jelly. I'm truly disappointed with this location, so we'll drive the hour to Fort Polk PX because they are ALWAYS consistent with the quality of their food, in my experience. We have decided we will not be visiting this location any longer, which makes us sad, but we just can't continue to spend $100 a week at this location until something changes and they follow their operating procedures on how to cook the food.
