I frequent Panda Dynasty because of their delicious recipes. If the food was only so so, I would seek Chinese food from one of the many surrounding places. I do agree with the other posts. Since COVID19 the place has been slipping into a less than ideal repair and cleanliness. I hope they turn it around. read more

Panda Dynasty - Hunan Chicken over Beef and Peppers - Chinese Near Me - Portage, Michigan

Ordered delivery through Yelp powered by delivery.com I guess and it took about an hour but it was on a busy night. I got chicken noodle soup, veggie fried rice and shrimp with broccoli. I'd say it's a good value and over all pretty solid. The shrimp with broccoli I've had in the past usually has a lighter sauce, this sauce was a dark sweet one more like I expect with beef and broccoli but it was good. The soup and rice were also solid and I'll be looking forward to giving them another try soon. read more

As usual pickup time was spot on. Quality and flavor of the pineapple shrimp was wonderful.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant! The cashew chicken is best here and their crab Rangoon are really good. My boyfriend always orders a pint of beef fried rice. He loves it! With the egg drop soup it's a complete meal. A meal complete with tasty leftovers! read more

We ordered through Door Dash (cheaper prices than Grubhub) ordered chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and Mongolian beef. We also got wonton soup, steam dumplings, and teriyaki beef. I have a hArd time finding great Chinese. However, that being said, the Mongolian beef was super flavorful without being overly salty. The sweet and sour came with sauce on it, would prefer on side but was very good! Chicken and broccoli was plentiful and yummy. Wasn't too thrilled with the steamed dumplings (the filling wasn't all that tasty, wish it was more seasoned pork) and the dumpling's dough was too thick an mushy. The beef sticks were flavorful and good portion. And most importantly our Door Dash driver Karen was super fast!! Oh and the fortune cookies are awesome! read more

We just finished our diner from here and I've got to say hands down the egg rolls were the best I've had. My wife and I both got Kung Pao chicken and it was out of this world and my daughter loved the Lo Mein. We picked up an order of Chicken fried rice but the portions were enough we'll have to save that for lunch tomorrow. Unfortunately due to staffing issues they do not have inside dining but still worth trying! We'll surely be back and I'll tell everyone I know! read more

Wonton soup. Terraki chicken appetizer. Mongolian beef. Rice. Beef with broccoli. All are highly recommended! Only has take out service; no dining in. But service is fast. It does great take out business, and can be busy. read more

I have order a couple times during these crazy times. My orders are alway correct, crash and very tasty. They have become our go to for take out. I would HIGHLY recommend. read more

We were greeted quickly and with enthusiasm on this New Years day. We got our drinks quickly and ordered the Pu Pu platter to start - delicious! The kids were thrilled with the little fire pot in the center for decoration. We ordered the sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, hot and sour soup and bean curd with vegetables. It's what you'd expect, which worked just right for our little group! We will keep Panda Dynasty on our list to return to! read more

Being here several times with my husband after moving to the area a year ago. Unfortunately, we have never had a chance to eat inside because of the covid . I will say that the food is wonderful, and the staff is very friendly. My absolute favorite has to be the dumplings , they are delicious. read more

Best Chinese in portage! Anytime I'm wanting takeout this is the spot. Yummy food & always ready in 15 minutes!

Panda Dynasty is our go-to place for takeout Chinese food in Portage. Our orders are always prepared promptly and are delicious. Pricing is very reasonable as well. read more

First of all, nothing compares to Chinn Chinn (Asian fusion) or Nonla (Vietnamese) in Mattawan. But, there are times when, perhaps due to our poor time management, we find ourselves faint from hunger and don't have the patience or resolve to wait for a scheduled time for take out at Chinn Chinn. Or we figure Nonla's few tables inside will be filled and we know we will pass out on the sidewalk as we wait for a table to open up. So Panda Dynasty is our back up favorite for Chinese-American fare. We were fans of Panda Forest up until the restaurant merged with Ming Dynasty in '13. We also liked Hunan Gardens on West Main pre-'13, so we would bounce back and forth between the two. After the merger, we seemed to hit a rough spot of a run of miserable meals at Hunan Gardens, so we have just stuck with Panda Dynasty as our back up choice when hunger rages and we can't wait. The dining room always seems empty or near empty. I think 90% of the business Panda Dynasty does is take out. I think 90% of the time we do take out. Today, we were waiting for our order of Pineapple Shrimp and appetizers to take home and two brothers walked in to pick up $100 worth of take out. The kitchen always seems to be sizzling out orders. read more

Does not have sit down dining only take out. When they reopen sit down dining I will return. Hope they can find workers so they can reopen.

I don't think this is so much the restaurant as it's a miss communication between yelp and the restaurant. Ordered delivery through yelp. Delivery never went through and was never confirmed. After speaking with EatStreets and learning the restaurant uses a 3rd party delivery service - I decided to call the restaurant directly. At that point I learned from The restaurant that they don't even offer delivery. Never ate. Called EatStreets to cancel and get a refund which I did. But bummer. Don't list delivery if you don't have it? read more

Yummy! This is a staple at least once a month. You get alot of food for your money. They are always willing to make substitutions with no problem. Kind and friendly service. read more

I come here often during lunch. Their lunch menu is very reasonable. Comes with an entrée, soup and a crab Rangoon. I ate Shrimp with Vegetables. What I like here is that their entrée is not starchy. Some Chinese restaurants use too much starch. Not this one. My son had Shrimp with Eggplant. Very soft eggplant and it tasted really good. Very good lunch stop in Kalamazoo. read more

It was a spontaneous dinner and we ended up eating there. We ordered orange chicken and chicken sesame. Both plates were pretty delicious and I would recommend them both. The ambiance is very pleasant and you feel the chinese spirit inside the restaurant. It was not crowded and we were served fast. Recommended for chinese lovers :) read more

Panda Dynasty - two plates of food on a table - Chinese Near Me - Portage, Michigan

This is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in Portage/Kalamazoo. Every single thing I've ever ordered becomes a new favorite. They never disappoint. I appreciate they use real white chicken in all their dishes and the portions are huge. The price is great for the outstanding food you get. The ambiance inside is a little older & quaint. The takeout time is always so short and ready to go within minutes. Highly recommend. read more

Worst Chinese food I ever ate in my life .. the food was bland doesn't even taste like Chinese food go to Panda Express way better

This is hands down the best Chinese food around! We drive 25 minutes, because this place is worth it!

This is one of the better Chinese places in the area. I like the beef with mixed vegetable and lo mein. The fried rice I got last time was overcooked, not sure if that is the norm though. They unfortunately don't have almond cookies and they don't deliver. Overall an ok place for takeout. read more

I really wanted this place to be better. I only got to go. I have to say everything was a bit bland. The "volcano chicken" had one pepper and was the exact same as orange chicken. Crab Rangoons were filled with cold cream cheese no additional flavor. The dumplings were decent but nothing mind blowing. The hot and sour was more water than hot or sour. :( Pity. read more

The Tower of Babel Today we selected Panda Dynasty for a late lunch. We both sat down, my companion ordered Broccoli and Chicken which is probably one of the better things to have when you're watching your carbs. My companion ordered no rice and double broccoli. The server stopped and started some dialogue with us. No rice. We tried twice to request double broccoli and the server was frustrated because we said no rice. After two cycles where English was obviously not working, and our incapacity to speak Mandarin eliminated any pathway forward we accepted that we got the first order in. Broccoli and Chicken with no rice. I asked for the same thing because we were both attempting to keep carbs down to a minimum. The order came, by the book. Two plates and two servings of rice. So not only is there a profound language barrier, but also the kiss of death for a restaurant, a botched order. We ate the food, I ate one serving of rice because I didn't want to waste food. Both of us burned our mouths on inconsistently heated food, and the lack of understanding, the botched order and the attitude of the server, being bored mostly and clearly not wanting to do the job she was given all culminated in this $23.05 transaction being the last time we will go here for the rest of our days. The language barrier is becoming more and more of a problem with ethnic restaurants. There is no common language, so how can there be business? read more

Crab rangoons, udon chicken and Mongolian beef were all excellent! Not too salty and full of flavor. We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing. Total care. Customer care, which can be rare! They had fresh hot authentic food. So happy after all our Chinese food went out in our town. Definitely recommend this place. Nicest people!! read more

We went here a few months ago and we were super disappointed because most of the reviews were really positive. We walked in and there were only a few other patrons (red flag #1). The service was sloooooow. My duck was pretty good, even though several pieces were cooked into oblivion. The rest of the food was inedible. My husband had orange chicken that was also terribly over cooked. It just was really bad. Hard pass. read more

Early on this became my favorite Chinese restaurant in Kalamazoo/Portage. Their food is very well prepared, incredibly fresh, and unbelievably tasty. There used to be another Chinese favorite on the other side of town but their consistency became an issue, something that had rarely been a problem here. My favorite thing to order is the Beef with Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. It is so abundantly flavorful and the eggplant is so amazingly fresh and well cooked. The sauce is tangy and a little spicy! I'm sad that I think the secret is out on that dish because they've run out of eggplant on two occasions! Their lo mein is also noteworthy, but ask for them to be light on the oil or it can be slightly greasy. I love the broth in their wonton soup and after surgery I was requesting just the broth because I loved it so much! I just got a job next to this restaurant and I'm afraid all of my profits will be going to them! read more

Panda Dynasty - Chinese Near Me - Portage, Michigan

What is it about Chinese food that makes it so synonymous with "take out"? My theory is over ordering and being able to eat left-overs for the next couple of days. That plus the take-out containers look cool. My go to here is chicken fried rice. One order will feed 2-3 people depending upon appetite. I like to combine it with an order of sesame chicken. One order goes well with the fried rice and comes with an extra side of white rice if you're in a serious rice eating mood. The spring rolls aren't bad but I don't recommend more than two per person. They're a bit greasy and can be overwhelming if you try to eat too many. The food here is good. Not outstanding but not bad either. Having partaken in some of the other local establishments, especially those with buffets, I believe the food here is better. Not above and beyond but definitely better. If you're in South Portage and you've got a taste for some Chinese cuisine, I'd give this restaurant the nod over the other Chinese food spots on this end of town. If you've got the time and really want an incredible asian fusion experience, I'd make a trek out to Mattawan and check in at ChinnChinn for a 5 star experience. Otherwise, if it's a Netflix night this place rates A-OK. read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. I give it 4 stars because the service isn't that great if you eat there. However, I usually get take-out and of course that isn't an issue in that situation. The prices are above that of cheap Chinese restaurants, but then so is the quality. It's well worth the extra expense. read more

Best Asian food ever!!! Good price tasty food and very friendly service....love it. My favorite dish is pineapple shrimp sweet and delicate, fried rice it's soooo tasty but not over salty, this place is our family to go place! read more

The food is pretty good, and if I sound surprised, it's because I am. Ummmm, this place needs a makeover, even though I love the old-style dark wood, and don't mind some things out of order and imperfect...they are starting to add up and impinging on the experience. It really looks like an old elks lodge, and that alone starts things off of the wrong foot. Because there are not many people here. The service is fine, although our waitress was a bit distracted by her child. read more

Quick and attentive service but just another Chinese restaurant. Nothing special that sets it apart from any other Chinese restaurant.

This is my favourite Chinese place and have been coming here since I moved to Portage (back when they were called Ming Dynasty) Their service is super friendly and their food is absolutely delicious. Definitely try their egg rolls and wonton soup for starters. I always get their Almond or Pecan Chicken. The restaurant itself has a pretty chill atmosphere and has plenty of seating, but they also deliver or have pick up if you prefer to stay in. I highly recommend this to someone looking for good Chinese food (: read more

Love their food. It's an older building and atmosphere, but the food is great. Inexpensive lunch options. The kids and wife like the Sesame Chicken. I usually get General Tso's. Both are all white meat and breaded. They give you tasty "chips" with a sweet dipping sauce as an appetizer. The Won Ton soup is excellent. read more

Laughable spice level for the Empress chicken. I appreciated the chicken in the Empress dish was well fried. Lo mein was light on spice and flavor too. Too much catering to the typical spice averse American palette. Overall bland but good portions for the money. read more

We like it a lot. Switched from other places to here and very happy we did. They take requests on how spicy you want it as well
