THE CAPPUCCINO! OMG!!
Not sure if it's whipped cream or heavy whipping cream frothed up, but they flavor it with cinnamon and Mexican vanilla extract, I think??? Whatever it is, it was the best cappuccino I've ever had. However, it wasn't just the indulgent froth, they used a quality espresso coffee that was rich and full bodied. I was on island for a couple of weeks and tried a few café-con-leche and a few cappuccino's from a few other bakeries, but Panaderia Las Villas on Carretera 172 stood out and had me going back multiple times during our stay. And YO!, their QUESITOS... Had the one topped with chocolate. The pastry was flaky like a croissant, yet crispy. It had the right amount of filling and chocolate topping. It did not taste like a ball of sugar, but, rather, a balanced sweet delight where the pastry dough also shined through. I'm back on the mainland and am craving a quesito and cappuccino right now I'll be researching if TSA will let me carry ice packs so that I can bring a stack of them back home next time.
I would like to add that the attentiveness of the lovely ladies serving ensuring that they described their products for me, a blind customer, probably enhanced the experience. read more
