I was told they had the best tortas and I can confirm they probably may have the best in the state. They have carne asada and jamon which is a rare find in my experience. Additionally they have a store full of fresh baked Mexican bread with pan dulce in so many colors I found it hard to choose. When I took a bite of my carne asada torta with the fresh bolillo bread, everything clicked. Definitely this winter I'm returning for the champurrado. I also want to try more of the menu items. The moment I walked in, I knew I had found my new favorite spot. While I'm living in this lovely little town, I can honestly say I'll be stopping by at least once a week! The desserts are incredible. Tiramisu cupcakes?! What?! I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Every single thing I've tried has been delicious. The frosting is perfectly balanced--not overly sweet--and the fillings are rich, flavorful, and absolutely amazing. You can tell that every item is made with care and creativity. The flavor combinations are unique, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. And then there are the drinks. Oh. My. Goodness. The Ube Horchata is one of the best specialty drinks I've ever had. It tastes every bit as amazing as it looks! What makes this place even more special, though, is the family behind it. They are some of the kindest people you could hope to meet. I work at a local Title I Special Education preschool, and they generously donated to our preschool graduation celebration. That meant so much to our students, families, and staff. It's rare to find a business that not only offers such a high-quality product but also genuinely gives back to its community. Sweet Baking Co. has earned a customer for life.
