We started in the infrared saunas and ended with a terrific Antioxidant Vibrancy Revival facial. Our aestheticians were Mallory and Erin. They were super friendly and gave great facials. The massage throughout the facial was extremely relaxing and soothing. I haven't felt that relaxed in forever! My skin is still glowing from receiving this facial days ago. The relaxation area was just that, super quiet and relaxing. The changing rooms were clean and bright. Definitely an ejoyable spa experience! Staff was so friendly and welcoming. I checked around to see who I could go to for a massage and called Adirondack Salt Cave for availability. They scheduled me with Hendrick and I added cupping as an add-on. Walking in, the room is dimly lit with salt lamps on the floor so you can rest your feet on them while you wait. There's jewelry, salt lamps, cherapy warming wraps (warmies made from cherry pits) and a few other things for sale, and the ladies at the front desk were so sweet and welcoming. The massage: Hendrick was very professional, attentive and took the time to listen to my concerns and to also explain to me in depth detail about how the massage would be done. I got a Swedish massage with cupping integrated in said massage and all I can say is my body feels less tight, relaxed and my upper back can breathe more easily than before. Thankfully, the therapist that I had was extraordinary - Christine. Since my knots have knots currently, she certainly had her work cut out for her. The couples massage takes place in the salt cave. What a lovely, zen space! I kinda want to move in.... I left there feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Christine warned me that I would be sore and to drink a lot of water. I was definitely sore - but a really good sore. I drank lots of water and clean iced herbal tea for the rest of the day. I feel fabulous today and I plan to book another massage within a reasonable amount of time to try and avoid getting into the physical mess that I'm in! FYI - they're still following covid protocols - which I personally think is great. Once in the salt cave, masks can be removed (but the therapists do keep them on currently). We go to spas quite frequently and I don't feel like arriving 30 minutes early is out of the ordinary. He was under the impression there was a sauna available to use as well. We entered the waiting area and sat quietly when the owner popped her head out and asked if she could help us. My husband responded with "we are here for a 1pm couples massage" to which she responded "no you're not." My husband proceeded to pull up his confirmations which he received at time of booking/leading up to date of service. She said "oh I won't be ready for you until at least 1:15pm". We said okay and waited outside on the porch. We went back in at 115 and started our massages at around 130 after changing. No robes or anything were offered. We had booked a 90 minute so expected to finish around 3 pm due to our late start. When they left the room after finishing we checked the time it was just before 240. He also had prepaid the services and when we finished was asked for payment. We were not offered a choice of Swedish or deep tissue and massage for both of us felt more like a back rub. Very unsatisfying. My husband was so disappointed and apologetic after the fact. At no point did the owner even offer us an apology let alone some sort of compensation.

I also suffer from severe migraines and sciatica. Every masseuse I have been to always asks where I want extra attention but I've never had anyone deliver like Erin! When I called in (booking online was very difficult) to make the appointments, they didn't have exactly what we were looking for available. They told me what was available, and we went with it: Sauna, mineral bath, and a massage for my wife. Sauna, and a cold plunge for me. Based on the few appointments available, I was expecting the spa to be busy when we arrived. It was actually completely deserted. I saw one other guy the entire time I was there. We got changed in our respective locker rooms, put on the nice robes and sandals, and went to the Relaxation Room to wait. The nice woman who checked us in told me that when my wife got taken for her bath, I should go to the sauna. So I did. I was in the sauna for about 10 minutes when it seemed markedly less hot. Because it was off. I had to get out of the sauna, put on some clothes, find an employee (not as easy as it sounds), and ask them to find someone who can turn the sauna back on. It runs on a timer, but they didn't think to check it would be on during the session for one of their two guests that morning? Seeing as how the sauna was half of my (not cheap) entire experience, this was a little off-putting. After we figured the sauna issue out, I was grabbed by my bath attendant. He led me to a room where it was clear that I had a hot bath waiting. I asked if the cold plunge would be afterward, he said there was no cold plunge but I could turn the bath colder if I'd like. I wasn't sure if I made a mistake, so I just went with it and hopped in the hot bath. About 10 minutes after I got in the bath, he came back and told me there was a mistake, and he had a cold plunge ready for me. So I got out of the bath, and followed him to a different room, and hopped in the cold plunge. Which was very nice. However, the runaround was also a little off-putting, and not the relaxing morning I was hoping for. All in all, the mineral baths are very cool. The water is unique and amazing and I'm glad we did it. For what it's worth, my wife said it was one of the best massages she's ever gotten. However, my experience was disorganized, and the facilities are a bit outdated. Beware: If you wear clothing into the bath, the mineral water will stain it. It would've been nice to have been warned about that beforehand.

They asked us if we wanted to focus on specific body parts and gave us time to get settled in the massage beds. I wanted more attention on my upper back shoulders and neck, which they delivered. There was a heating pad on the beds and you can adjust it yourself. They are very friendly, courteous and have good bedside manners. They offer you water before and after the massage.
