When they didn't like their meals (which were delicious) our waiter brought out something else they could try, and they ate it up. Perfect for a casual afternoon meal. Gazpacho-like tomato soup was particularly tasty.

We happened upon it and I was so pleasantly surprised. I think we went three times during our time in Madrid. I loved the counter experience, I'd definitely recommend that option. I wasn't looking to sit down and do all of that upstairs so my review is solely based on counters on the first floor. The locals love this spot and that is quite obvious. I was told in advance that they do and coming here was very enjoyable. The pastries and coffee are very yummy, you won't be disappointed. Makes for the perfect spot if you really want to get your day started but want to grab a quick bite before doing so.

I ended up getting light custard-cream filled pastries and breads. All looked freshly prepared but it tastes a bit unbalanced. All taste home-made but nothing blew my mind.. Try it if you are in the area but not sure if it's worth going out of the way to try this place.

Worst time to be hungry as most restaurants are closed between 4 pm and 8 pm. I bought some croissants, plain, custard (very thin) and chocolate filled. All less than €1 (about €0.60-0.80) for a big size. They looked similar to ones at most super market.. Nothing special but omg.. It tastes so good. All taste like ones I could get freshly in the morning. I was so happy to find this pastry/bakery. I will definitely go back whenever I want fresh bread or pastries. Highly recommend.
