Unfortunately, their experience was ruined by one of the servers, Ali, a tall, grey-haired man. While serving them, Ali said "chino, chino, cappuccino" while making a derogatory gesture pulling the skin around his eyes. The gesture is extremely offensive and inappropriate in 2026. My parents told him directly that he should not be doing things like that. My mother also told him "we may all look different, but we are all the same," and expressed how much she loves Spain but dislikes being treated this way by people like him. What makes this especially upsetting is that my parents were guests visiting Spain from the US and were looking forward to experiencing the culture and food. Instead, they left with a very sour impression because of the behavior of one employee. The churros and hot chocolate may be well known, but no food is worth being subjected to a racist or derogatory gesture. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses this employee's behavior so other visitors do not have a similar experience.

It was a refreshing start that set the tone for the meal. We followed that with a salad of crab, tomato, and avocado mousse with black trumpet fish roe, which was a vibrant, refreshing combination. The sweetness of the crab, the creamy avocado mousse, and the saltiness of the roe made for a wonderfully layered and exciting dish. Absolutely loved it. The sole with lemon butter followed, a classic done to perfection silky, tender fish in a luscious butter sauce that was both rich and light at the same time along with the sautéed peppers and onions made it fun to chomp through. Juan was kind enough to clean it for us and made it for a fun eating exercise. Then, there was the cod in mayonnaise slab over a bed of spinach, which was both inventive and delicious. The cod was perfectly cooked, flaking beautifully under the creamy mayonnaise, and the spinach ( dehydrated and crisped) added a subtle earthiness that grounded the dish. To end the evening, we indulged in the Galician cheesecake, which was nothing short of heavenly. The rich, velvety texture of the cheesecake was perfectly balanced with a tangy sweetness. It was served with a homemade confit of passion fruit that added an exotic touch, bringing a burst of tropical flavor that paired wonderfully with the creaminess of the dessert.
