There are days when you need carbs. That being said, there are days when I binge eat pan de sal. I pop (more than) 2 pieces in our toaster and eat them very hot with butter. It is amazing.
What used to be more amazing was when they made the pan de sal using wood-fired pugon. Now I believe they just use gas and there is a big difference. It lost the smoky, earthy taste it used to have. But that's business. Wood is expensive and sometimes you just want to eat pan de sal.
The great thing about this place is that it's open 24 hours. Anytime you're hungry, Pan de Manila will always have its doors open. And now they don't just sell pan de sal. They now offer different products like peanut butter, ensaymada, ice cream and Iya's Jumbo Pastillas. read more
