Marcum's Nursery - This is where the willow tree is supposed to be. The supports are the only thing that are still there.

I just bought 3 tri color ornamental sweet potato vines. They cost $20. I do not recommend them for trees, though. I chose a beautiful willow tree. There was a freeze, and they asked to substitute it for a different willow. I agreed. It never did thrive and eventually died. They replaced it (which sounds great, but the tree is the cheap part - the labor is expensive!). The workers didn't use the fish emulsion - that I provided (Marcums said the fish emulsion should be mixed in when the tree was planted - and I wanted to give the willow the very best chance possible). This tree died, too. I think the hole they dug was WAY too small. We also got an Asian Pear tree with the first willow. It also died. It came up from below the graft line and is green and growing, but it is no longer an Asian Pear and doesn't fruit. We have spent almost $1,000 on these trees and have no willow at all, and whatever the root stock is for the Asian Pear. We paid the premium for them to plant the trees and guarantee them, but it did not work how I thought it would. Just go to Costco or a Farm Supply store, and do it yourself. Even if it doesn't live, you will only be out a little money.

Although we're nowhere close to being good or experienced gardeners but we are trying to spiff up our yard. There were a couple of cars in the driveway when we arrived and there were steady new arrivals. That just shows it is a pretty popular place. I believe Bob was there as we were browsing. Friendly chap! He found out we'd never been so he explained the set up and how the greenhouses are labelled according to the type of plants they housed, full sun or part shade. I've never been to such a rustic nursery but I got the feeling that they had serious gardeners as their clientele. Friendly too!The customers were chatting to us left and right. Definitely a worthwhile place to check out. We picked up our little "Paddle" whom we spot from afar. It was just what we were looking for to replace the one I'd murdered over the winter. I didn't think we'd find him there so that was really lucky! I hadn't taken any pictures of the place because my phone ran out of juice, but I'm posting a picture of "Paddle" here.

Earlier this year I visited an At Home store for the first time in Washington. I had never heard…read moreof them, but when we were in need of some inexpensive home goods, it was recommended and it did not disappoint. I had picked up some area rugs and decorative pillows for our fifth wheel and wished I had had more time to peruse the store. This time while in OKC, I saw the store nearby and decided to take a stroll. Holy moly it's huge and dare I say a bit overwhelming! You can easily set up an entire apartment, house, RV, dorm room or whatever space you need to take care of here at a very reasonable price. I was merely visiting, so I had limited space since I had already shopped galore during my stay. It didn't stop me from picking up a few small seasonal items though! The cart I was pushing had a map of the store, which was very helpful. While I didn't walk through furniture or big items, I noticed a massive amount for both indoor and outdoor. The Christmas holiday section was enormous and I had the biggest smile as I walked through. I'm somewhat regretting not buying an additional suitcase; however, I know I'll be back.
