The pure roast taste of the burger patty was just twenched a bit by tomato #ketchup, but just to ensure that the burger is not dry, not just drenching it in sauce that kills all the other flavours. The bread was white and thin, but very crisp, yet again aiming to have the real king of the burger make even greater: The just mentioned patty. Also, the cucumber was very pure and genuine. They also ask everyone whether they want the burger rare, medium or done. So professional! And they really had a talent turning a possible 3 star rating to a 5 star one. I ordered a jacket potato with my burger and it was hardly warm in the outside and of course even less in the inside. After thinking two minutes (I hate complaining in restaurants) I pushed myself to go and it turned out, immediately and without questions they brought me a new one. They made me feel so valued and were complying, I hardly ever saw it as being so self-evident! That's what made me think, at no place I was ever so convinced that they deserve 5 stars! Maybe another factor also helped: It tasted like a burger I ate in Canada a long time ago at a Georgian Bay beach. All that was missing today was the breeze from the "seaside"... hmmm. I indeed think, the burger place owned the merit of the memory bonus as they concentrated on the pure taste of the products. That's what makes them outstanding! Definitively need to try it

Apart from having to fan myself & mop my considerable brow dry, due to it being the hottest day of the year thus far. (Please don't let it get any hotter!) I was more than pleased with the restaurant, the old lady was pleased. But above all else my wallet was so pleased it wanted to do a song & dance number. Beware though as Google maps will lead you up an alley. Maybe it's my geographically challenged wifey... however I took charge of finding the place. What with my A level in geography how could I fail? There are no menus! You are directed towards the chalk boards. Or if you're fluent in French/Dutch/English you can ask one of the many staff. Yes it's a great luxury to have many staff to wait on you. Compared to other places we've experienced where only a mixture of smoke signals & tapping out an SOS signal will get the attention of the wait staff. Here you're created with so many greetings its like an episode of friends. I took the recommendation of our waiter, the old lady took the Spaghetti Carbonara. We shared a bottle of house red. Soon after a strange type of bread arrived. Strange in a good way. It was like it was double crusted. Wonderful, but I've learned my lesson many a time to not fill up on bread. Then came a complimentary Bruschetta. Wonderful but it had a sneaky level of spice. One that you only felt after you've finished eating it. The house red didn't quite taste like house red. It was a bottle that I'd be very happy to buy. Usually you expect a cheap bottle that you need to hold your nose to swallow. Again another surprise! My gnocchi that was recommended was probably the best I've tasted in a long while. Ok the best I've ever tasted! I don't want to sound like a newbie... My wife's carbonara pleased the wife greatly. Now this is where I expected a wait until dessert. Another surprise the wait staff were on point yet again. I had the affogato whilst the Mrs has the tiramisu. Which in most places should be called terrible masu. Both were delicious! What is going on here I thought. Everything going perfect... Then we asked for the bill. I was asked to follow a young lady. Thoughts ran through my head.... I'd end up as the next days Salami! Nope they only have a fixed card machine. Thus I'm alive to badly write this review. Sorry about that... Eat here! Oh the bill? For a bottle of wine, starters, main course & dessert all of which were far from stingy in size. €50!

I didn't think any place like this existed in Brussels…read more It's really cute, clean, and modern on the inside, and had good Italian food at reasonable, even low, prices. Even their house wines were decent, and the service was good! I called around opening time on a Friday night and was able to get a reservation for that night with no problem. My friends and I got three different pastas, and we were all happy. I tried all three, and my favorite had to be the scallopini with tagliatelli and truffle sauce. The sauce was very flavorful, and they were extremely generous with the shaved truffles. The meat was a little overdone, but I still enjoyed it. The tagliatelle with zucchini and scampi was also great, and the gnocchi was decent. I didn't love the tiramisu, but it wasn't awful. I will definitely be back.

Best, and possibly only, Taiwanese restaurant in Brussels…read more I have a favorite with the Ba-Gui soup for staters and scampi in garlic sauce as mains. First timers I certainly recommend the taster menu which includes "Cochon mordu par le Tigre" which is a simple, yet very good, Taiwanese Gua Bao - Braised Pork in a sliced bun. Everything is very authentic, though obviously smaller and much more dear than it would be in Taiwan. The owner and his family are in charge of the cooking and running of the restaurant; a very friendly bunch with whom you can talk lots about the food from the island.
